But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you. (‭Romans‬ ‭8‬:‭11‬ KJV)

The above scripture is central to my christian walk and understanding of who I am and what I have in Christ. In fact the first part is almost a challenge to your thinking. To be successful in anything you do when it comes to the challenges we face you must believe that the Spirit of Christ 'dwells' in you, that is, He is resident in you, lives there permanently, He does not come and go like in the Old Testament. This is a pivotal difference between the old and the New Testament (Romans 8:9.1John 2:27, Hebrews 8:8-13). In fact our spirit is identical to Christ, yes let me repeat that, identical .' Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.' (‭1 John‬ ‭4‬:‭17‬ KJV)

The level to which you believe, this is the level to which you are bold enough to move in its fullness. The second part of Romans 8:11 says if you believe the first part, then expect that Spirit to quicken or give life to your mortal body. That is, if you are sick, expect life to flow from the immortal part of you which is the Spirit (spirit of Christ) to the mortal part, the body. This is so simple but unfortunately we have a knack of complicating the simple things of God. That is what religion does. Don't get me wrong I still struggle personally to fully conceptualise this too. It's so mind blowing that you must continually remind yourself. The reason why we are continually searching for power is because we don't know that we already have it. This is the same trick satan used for Adam and Eve, he promised them what they already have, this is the recipe for frustration and disaster. What we need is an understanding of what we already have (Isaiah 5:13), instead of engaging in all sorts of gimmickry. You will hear all sorts of slogan like 'power must change hand'. In New Testament terms this already happened 2000 years ago. Christ already spoilt powers and principalities, making an open show of them, what we need to know is how to walk in it (Colossians 2:15). If you are not aware of this you will be looking for what you already have and that will make you vulnerable to deception (Psalms 16:4)

In practical terms what we need to do is draw on the Spirit of Him that rose up Christ, dwelling on the inside of us and cause a flow of that healing power to come out. That is the basic principle of laying of hands. It's like conducting electricity, it's the same when we speak 'the word', we are conducting life that is in the spirit out, that is why Christ said 'it is the spirit that quickens (or gives life), the flesh profits nothing, the words that I speak unto you they are spirit and they are life (John 6:63). So when you know what you have already by the Grace of God, what you need is to draw on it by speaking the word and if necessary laying of hands, believe, expecting a manifestation. And blessed is she that believed: for there shall be a performance of those things which were told her from the Lord. (‭Luke‬ ‭1‬:‭45‬ KJV)

And he took bread, and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave unto them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me. Likewise also the cup after supper, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood, which is shed for you. (‭Luke‬ 22‬:‭19-20‬ KJV)

Praise God! In this capsule we will discuss the significance and power released in breaking bread. When this is done properly it releases the power and authority in the name of Jesus and affects any aspect of your life where you are struggling (Philippians 2:9-11).

Christ instituted the Breaking of Bread the very night He release Himself to be taken for crucifixion and this was probably the last fellowship and instruction He gave to the disciples as a collective before His resurrection. In fact He had alluded to this in the passage John 6:53-57. He commanded them to do it in REMEMBRANCE of Him. This is the point that is often missed, He was not asking them to do it as a mere religious observance, definitely not. Look at the passage in Luke 22:19-20 again, As the bread was broken, so was His body broken for us and if His body has been broken for you, then yours does not need to be broken again. You need to remember this each time you break bread . The wine was like His blood which atoned for our sin and ushered in the New Testament, so when you drink the wine you need to remind yourself that sin and the effect of its power does not have a hold on you any more, you are free.

So what is the practical application of this? Let's take sickness for example, if you've done all you know to do and you are still struggling (which happens to all of us), then Break bread, and as you do, remember and remind yourself of the substitutionary work of Christ. His body had already been broken, so yours should not, and when satan points at sin in your life, you point at the blood of Christ that was shed to atone for your sin or sins in the past, present and future. As you do this faith will rise within you and things will begin to shift in your favour. It does not matter how many times you need to do this in a day, keep doing it.
Christ realised the disciples might not appreciate the significance of what was about to happen to Him on the cross, hence He instituted breaking of bread and commanded them to do it as a reminder. We don't need any new sacrifice all we need to do is remind ourselves of the perfect sacrifice (Hebrews 9:11-12).

Breaking bread is such a potent spiritual tool that if not appropriated properly it could have the reverse effect. The Apostle Paul revealed to the church at Corinth that the reason why some of them were sickly and some even died prematurely was because they failed to appreciate the purpose and potency of breaking bread (Where purpose is unknown, abuse is inevitable). 1Corinthians 11:23-34. So when you have done all you know to do and it seems your back is against the wall, take the bread and wine, bless it and break bread and remember!!!

He that receiveth a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet's reward; and he that receiveth a righteous man in the name of a righteous man shall receive a righteous man's reward. (‭Matthew‬ ‭10‬:‭41‬ KJV)

The above scripture gives another dimension to the law of sowing and reaping. It talks about partnership. This is probably one of the smartest application of this law. When you sow into a work or a ministry and you do it continually you become a partaker of the dominant anointing in that ministry. That anointing as a matter of course flows through your life producing the same effect and replicating itself.

It's like standing at the edge of stream and creating a diversion that goes through your property, the stronger the current through the stream the more irrigated your land is, because the source that feeds the stream feeds your land too. That is why that scripture in Matthew 10:41 says if you give to a prophet you get a prophets reward, and if you give to a righteous man you get a righteous man's reward. That is, sow where you want to go!

For instance if you want to flow in healing anointing find somebody or a ministry that operates in that anointing and partner with it, support the minister and the ministry with your substance, pray over your gift and do it continuously and expect that same anointing to manifest in your life and ministry. People often quote Philippians 4;19 inappropriately, Paul was commanding a special blessing on his partners in Philippi. This group were committed to his ministry, in fact the whole of the epistle to the Philippians is a 'THANK YOU' note from Paul to this people. Notice that he said MY God will supply your needs, this implies that the same anointing and grace of God over his life will also manifest in their lives. He could have said God will supply their needs, but the 'My' shows the intimacy he shared with them. If you are struggling with your health, this is one sure fire way of kicking disease out of your body. It works whichever way you slice it, if it's prosperity or teaching or evangelism it does not matter connect with a minister or ministry strong in this area and watch how things will change for you.

Still on Philippians chapter 4, in verse 16 Paul said because they have given so much to his ministry, verse 17, he expects fruits of their giving to abound in their accounts .These fruits will manifest in form of all their needs been supplied according to God's riches. The word according means in proportion to. What this means is that their needs will be supplied in proportion to God's riches. This is mind blowing if you truly understand what it means. It is one thing to have your needs met, but it a completely different level when your needs are met to the proportion of God's riches....that is what you get when you activate the power of partnership. Things happen extraordinarily and supernaturally for you because you are sowing where you want to go.

And when ye come into an house, salute it. And if the house be worthy, let your peace come upon it: but if it be not worthy, let your peace return to you. And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words, when ye depart out of that house or city, shake off the dust of your feet. (‭Matthew‬ ‭10‬:‭12-14‬ KJV)

One of the things that baffled me in the early days, is why is it easy to minister healing to some people and with others its like hitting a brick wall? I eventually found out that the problem may not be with healing anointing or virtue, some of the time the problem is with the recipient. Think about it, nobody ministers by their own strength if they are doing it properly and the Holy Spirit does not fluctuate (1John 2:27). In the scripture above the disciples were sent out to do great works that included healing the sick. However, they were given specific instructions not to force themselves on anyone. You see faith is a two way street, it takes two to tango, one to minister the other to receive. There are several reasons for this, but probably the most important is the fact that it is wrong to violate anybody's will either passively or actively. You cannot force healing on anyone. Let's put it this way, 'the anointing you respect will flow towards you, the one you disrespect will move away from you'. If you don't understand this you will struggle. Christ warned His disciples not to waste their time or energy. You cannot help everybody, no matter how passionate you feel about it. This is seen over and over in the scriptures, the people that Apostle Paul found most difficult to minister to were the Jews because they had no respect for his ministry.

And he did not many mighty works there because of their unbelief. (‭Matthew‬ ‭13‬:‭58‬ KJV)

Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, the brother of James, and Joses, and of Judas, and Simon? and are not his sisters here with us? And they were offended at him. But Jesus said unto them, A prophet is not without honour, but in his own country, and among his own kin, and in his own house. And he could there do no mighty work, save that he laid his hands upon a few sick folk, and healed them. (‭Mark‬ ‭6‬:‭3-5‬ KJV)

It is important that we don't get too familiar with the anointing such that we trivialise it. Even Christ experienced this, the people in the village where He grew up just could not accord Him the respect He deserved. They could not separate the man from the anointing. Mark 6:5 says 'He could not do mighty work' not that 'He did not want to'. Can you see the difference? Even Christ could not circumvent this! This might just be the reason why some 'mature' Christians have difficulty in receiving healing.

We must always be humble enough to receive from the ministry of others. Most times it's about the message not the messenger, and you need wisdom on some occasions to separate the two. In 2kings 5, Naaman was smart enough to separate the two. This reminds me of something I once heard. When the wife of a General Overseer of a particular denomination is given an instruction by the husband on certain occasions, especially when there is a spiritual edge to it, she will look at the husband straight in eyes and would ask 'Is this Yemi or the GO speaking ?' If the answer is 'it's the GO' , because she has learned to separate the two, she obeys without argument knowing that 'the anointing you respect will flow towards you'. This sounds extreme but it works for her.

For confidentiality, I have changed the first name of the GO.

Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. (‭Galatians‬ ‭6‬:‭7-8‬ KJV)

This is a law that cuts across both the physical and the spiritual , it is what you call a universal law, it works in opposite directions in fact it is unbreakable and unstoppable. If you understand the above scripture properly you will see that it is a big self deception if you somehow think you can circumvent it... God will not allow it. In the physical no one plants coco yam and expect plantain, it's that simple. Furthermore if you have few of coco yam and want more, the best way to go about it, is not to eat what you have but to sow it....simple. Complaining won't get you more, crying won't get you more, there is only one way to go about it, sow coco yam or do without.

Let's consider this law in divine healing. If you want to operate in divine healing either for yourself or to minister to others, you must take the seeds of divine healing (that is scriptures that pertain to divine healing) and sow it into your heart, meditate on them until they take root and start to bear fruit in your life. This is the first step. Nobody goes from zero to a hundred, everything takes time (Mark 4:26-29). I see people who have never withstood a headache in the past, all of a sudden want to rebuke cancer. Is this impossible? Of course it is possible , but it is better to kill your bear, slay your lion before facing Goliath, that was the difference between David and his brothers.

The second step, look for people that require healing and minister into their life. Don't forget whatsoever a sows he will reap. In fact the Amplified version of the bible says 'that and that only will he reap'. If you don't like what you are reaping change what you are sowing both into your life by what you meditate on and into others. Galatians 6:9-10, says there is no limit to sowing the right stuff, don't get tired the harvest will surely come, especially if you do it to the people of God, there is a special blessing attached to it.

But call to remembrance the former days, in which, after ye were illuminated, ye endured a great fight of afflictions; (‭Hebrews‬ ‭10‬:‭32‬ KJV)

Expect opposition, the devil will fight you tooth and nail to dissuade you when you first start on this track, oh yes he will whichever way possible, but remember not even the devil can mock God, 'whatsoever a man sows ,he will reap' that's a law and it cannot be broken.

He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much. If therefore ye have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches? (‭Luke‬ ‭16‬:‭10-11‬ KJV)

In this blog we are going to look at something that is not commonly linked with healing or the ability to flow in healing anointing, however if you are able to appreciate and understand this it will help in your every day christian walk not only healing.

In the Luke Chapter 16:1-13, Christ narrated a parable that is often called the Unjust Steward, essentially it has to do with financial stewardship . The conclusion in verses 10-13 Christ linked financial stewardship with the ability to flow in the things of God. In fact He said the anointing to operate in financial stewardship is the least in the kingdom. Let me put it this way I have never seen a mature Christian that does not have a reliable revelation of financial stewardship . In fact it is nigh impossible to grow spiritually if you have not grasped this. Financial stewardship according to Christ is the litmus test, for qualification for the 'true riches' (Luke 16:11). Until you circumcise your heart of greed you will struggle spiritually. There are a few reasons for this, the first is that believe it or not like money the anointing for victorious christian living is meant to flow through you same as money should (2Corinthians 9:8, Deuteronomy 8:18, Genesis 12:2). You see both money and anointing or unction of the Holy Spirit are currency that is meant to flow. They don't belong to you, you are only a custodian or steward. If you fail with the physical one , you cannot handle the spiritual.

Secondly, Matthew 6:24, Luke 16:13 both say God and money are both deities and they are both absolute masters. Let me put it this way, your strength or the extent of what you can achieve is dictated by which one you choose. Money have influence in the physical, God controls the spiritual that also controls the physical (2Corinthians 4:18). The rich young ruler in Mark 10, wanted influence in the spiritual but could not renounce his You cannot serve two masters, it is impossible!!

When you know that Christ is your Lord, (that is master), you will realise that you have influence in spiritual things including healing. Unfortunately very few Christians connect the dots between financial stewardship and spiritual maturity. As money looses its grip over your heart you will become more confident in spiritual things, you will decree a thing and it will be established on to you.

Lastly, it's important that you know that there is nothing wrong with money as long as it is serving you. Let God have you and you have money, that is the divine order. God does not mind you having money, what He is against is money having you

Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. (‭1 Timothy‬ ‭6‬:‭12‬ KJV)

My intention is to discuss what it means to fight the good fight of faith in this capsule . This will be the conclusion to the faith series. (There are some other spiritual ingredients like patience that is interlinked with faith (Hebrews 6:12), please refer to capsule 18 and 19). As a matter of fact I do not think that we could ever fully exhaust the subject. Since we started the blog I am constantly challenged by both the depth of what I have come to know and what I am yet to know.

As born again Christians there is only one fight we have any legal right to fight or indeed there is only one fight that is needful and that is 'the good fight, which is the fight of faith' (1Tim.6:12, Jude 1:3). Everything we have learnt sofar in these blogs or indeed the whole bible is to help us understand what it means to fight the fight of faith. This is unlike any other fight (2 Corinthians 10:3-6).

The first thing to understand is that we are primarily spiritual beings, and we are fighting from a stand point of victory. Christ already fought and won the war, what we are doing is to ensure we maintain our victory (Galatians 5:1, Colossians 2:14-15). These 2 mindsets are central if you are going to make any sense of the 'fight of faith'. This will help you understand phrases like 'be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might', 'more than a conqueror' etc. With this in mind, there is no way you will ever fail, even when things appear to be the contrary (Philippians 1:19-26).

There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God. For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his. Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief. (‭Hebrews‬ ‭4‬:‭9-11‬ KJV)

Hebrews 4:9-11 describes what it means to fight the good fight of faith, in other words it is to 'labour or fight or work to enter into the rest of God, this sounds like an oxymoron, how does one labour to enter into rest? The clue is we are 'human-beings not human-doings'. The original design for man was to rest, that was why he was created on the 6th day and the 7th day God rested. The first day of man on earth was a day of rest. Man woke up to find everything provided, that is, he walked into rest. The labour is the fight to accept that this is the reality. This is the struggle that Christians of every generation have faced, we have this constant urge of wanting to 'do'. Man was not created for service but for fellowship (Revelations 4:11, 2Corinthians 13:14). The question is how do we go about it so that our 'labour' leads into that rest, how do we ensure that our fight is a fight of faith (Hebrews 4:1-3 KJV)

Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God? (John 6:28 KJV)

Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent. (‭John‬ ‭6‬:‭28 KJV)

This is what separates victorious Christians from others, knowing how to fight the good fight of faith. It is not a once and for all time thing. you need to constantly remind yourself that the battle or rather the war has been won, you are only the custodian of the victory, moreover you have been given the power and authority to do just that in the name of Jesus (Matthew 10:1, Luke 9:1, Acts1:8)

I would encourage you to go to and through the bible references, they will enrich and make your understanding much more better.

FAITH COMES (How to develop your faith)

So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. (‭Romans‬ ‭10‬:‭17‬ KJV)

Virtually every Christian I know wants to walk in faith but very few have the desire to do what the word says. I see Christians ask for prayer so that they can have faith and I wonder why this level of ignorance, what is more amazing is that I have seen people praying for them to have faith. There is only one way you will develop your faith and that is by the word. Any other way is dubious to say the least. There are a few reasons why this is so.

The first reason is that you already have faith. It took faith for you to be born again what you need to do is to maintain and develop yourself in it. Faith is like a current it needs to flow (Philippians 2:6-7). The word of God is the best His got, in fact that is His power , it gives you access to the spiritual provision called Grace (Romans 1:16-17, 5:2)

For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith. (‭Romans‬ ‭1‬:‭16-17‬ KJV)

The above scripture is very instructive, think about it, it was because somebody preached the Gospel of salvation to you, you heard, understood and believed, that was why you had faith for salvation or deliverance from the Kingdom of darkness. Not because somebody prayed for you to have faith to be saved. Can you see the marked difference?

Secondly, you can only have faith for what you know! Christ put it this way 'you shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free'. It is only the truth that you know, not the one your Pastor or your wife know or anyone else. You can only believe for what you know has been provided for in the new covenant . Don't be deceived!

In the past, I noticed that sometimes when I minister healing to some people and command the disease to leave, we would get result but only temporarily. It bothered me, until the Lord ministered to me that I need to expose people to the truth so that they can sustain the healing by their own faith. Now I don't just pray, I spend time building their faith up through the word before praying. Even after that I ask what they are able to believe for? This is to make sure that they have faith to sustain or maintain the healing. I have seen better results since taking this approach. Once you understand this you are able to reproduce the result and get a good report (Hebrews 11:2).

If I have 10 minutes, I would rather spend 9 of those minutes on the word and 1 minute to pray, it works better, because once the faith is released in their heart through the word the rest is formality.

Lastly, the word is the seed and your heart is the soil, if you are going to reap the harvest of faith the word would need to germinate in your heart, that is what meditation is all about. In John 8:32, the Greek word translated 'know' is 'ginosko' which describes physical intimacy between opposite sexes or revealed knowledge or what is commonly referred to as revelation. In other words faith is born out of intimacy with the word of God, there are no two ways about it.

Next week, we would look at how to fight the good fight!

And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity. (‭1Corinthians‬ ‭13‬:‭13‬ KJV)

Welcome back! In this capsule we would discuss the interplay and interaction between love and faith. For me this is the granddaddy of them all. Let's put it this way, everything , absolutely everything works through the love of God. Love must always be your motive, if it isn't, your faith is fake, useless and you will struggle and run out of steam (1Corinthians 13:1-7). However if you are motivated by love, expect results (1Corinthians 13:8). Now, I will have to assume that you know or at least understand the LOVE I am talking about, because there is not enough space in this blog, suffice it to say GOD = LOVE, LOVE = GOD. So I say the more revealed knowledge of love you have, the more of God you can express or manifest. I am not talking about the wishy washy, mamby pamby....Hollywood stuff, of course you know what I mean. I am talking about agape, the UNCONDITIONAL LOVE of God (Romans 5:6-10)

The reason why people are fearful is not because we have any doubt in the power of God, the nagging question is 'Does God love me enough?' They then become fearful. The reason why a lot of people don't have confidence that when they pray for healing for themselves or others is because they have this question in their hearts 'does God love me enough to do it for me, have I done enough to deserve it? This poor self image is due to the fact that they don't understand the love of God (1John 5:14-15). When you understand the love of God, when you have a revealed knowledge of what it is, faith becomes a by product.

There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love. (‭1John‬ ‭4‬:‭18‬ KJV)

1John 4:18 says the antidote for fear is the love of God, in fact it chases out the fear or torment or doubt about any ifs or buts that you may have, subsequently this breeds uncommon confidence. Where there is no fear faith will flourish . The more you appreciate the love of God the more you walk in faith, this is the whole thrust of Ephesians 3:17-20 that is often quoted.
Usually when I give testimonies about healing, it gets people excited, but once you ask them to lay hands on somebody who is sick and command healing in the name of Jesus , their excitement turn into dread, why? Because they don't know that God loves all of us equally, He is not a respecter of persons .

For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love. (‭Galatians‬ ‭5‬:‭6‬ KJV)

The second part of Galatians 5:6 says 'faith works by love'. In my own experience , when I'm struggling in the area of faith concerning certain issue, I spend time and meditate on the Love of God, as this swells in my heart, faith rises automatically (Romans 5:5). When you are backed into a corner and it seems there is no place to go and you feel all alone, shut every other voice out and remember God, the almighty God, Creator of the heavens and Earth and everything in between Loves you unconditionally, meditate on it and faith will rise like Incredible Hulk in your heart!

Then came the disciples to Jesus apart, and said, Why could not we cast him out? And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you. Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting. (‭Matthew‬ ‭17‬:‭19-21‬ KJV)

As promised we would conclude the discussion of the interplay between faith and unbelief in this capsule but I would implore you to go through capsules 40 and 41 over and over again. Understanding this concept have radicalised my thinking and really helped in ministering healing although it applies to all aspects of the faith walk. By now I believe you are looking at the scripture in Matthew 17:19-21 differently. I intend to shed some light by the grace of God on the reason why Christ said 'Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting.'

This caveat would suggest that there are more than one type of 'unbelief' otherwise Christ would not have said 'this type'. In my study of the scripture and from discussions with other Christians I have come to identify three types of 'unbeliefs' ( I confess this is essentially a Femiology or Femism). The First type is what I call unbelief due to ignorance or lack of knowledge. This is the type Christ referred to in Matthew 22:29, the only way to deal with this is to expose yourself to the word of God (this is over simplification, but will suffice for now). The other type of unbelief is what I called disbelief. This is usually due to wrong teaching or tradition, this is the one Christ referred to in Mark 7:13. This type is a lot more difficult to deal with. Its like wanting to write on a blackboard that's already been used, you will have to first get rid of what has already been written or clean it off otherwise the struggle is unending. Once you've been taught wrong , it takes extra effort and commitment to accept the truth, however the antidote is also the word of God. The type of unbelief referred to in Matthew 17:19-21 is completely different from these two and for want of a better name I will call it 'natural unbelief'. This type of unbelief is based on the physical senses. I personally think this is the most difficult one to shift, it is something we must constantly deal with.

The disciples commanded the demon to come out of the boy and contrary to there expectation things got worse, 'he foamed in the mouth and convulsed', apparently things got worse instead of getting better. This will rock anybody except you know what is happening. In practical terms when you minister healing to somebody and instead of healing the Doctor tells you the disease is worse and they present you with medical report showing you that the cancer has spread further, how do you deal with this ? How do you maintain your stand in faith when the physical evidence is to the contrary? How do you stop this 'natural unbelief from overwhelming your faith? The answer is 'this type of unbelief does not go away except by prayer and fasting'.

This will be an abbreviated explanation. Prayer and fasting are both purely spiritual (John 4:24, Romans 8:6). When you are praying, for your payer to be effective you must believe in God that you cannot see yet He exists. The implication is that you come to a place where your physical senses must accept that there is an unseen world which is superior to the physical world, because you are expecting the solution to the physical problem to come from the spiritual (Hebrews 11:3). If you understand this properly then you must know that it's not how loud or how hard you pray but what you believe. Similarly when you fast, after sometime your physical senses become quiet and you are more aware of the spiritual (Matthew 4:2-3, Luke 4:2-3). The net effect of these is that when you are standing in faith and you see something contrary to what you are expecting in the physical, because you have trained your senses to know that there is a spiritual world that trumps the physical, you are then able to resist the 'natural unbelief' so that it does not weaken or contaminate your faith (Hebrews 5:14).

I have seen this over and over again, there are instances when you pray for somebody to be healed, they call you the next day that the disease is worse. I once agreed in prayer with a Christian brother concerning his pregnant wife, that she would not have a surgical intervention, the next day things took a turn for the worse, but because I understood what was going on, I encouraged him and we stood firm, refusing to change our confession, we won. Prayer and fasting sensitises you to the spiritual like no other.

In the last capsule we started the discussion on the interplay between faith and unbelief, this is the continuation. This concept is not commonly appreciated, the generally accepted concept is that faith and unbelief are mutually exclusive, this is not so. I will suggest you go through capsule 40 to grasp a full flavour of the discussion.

I intend to go further in this capsule and show you several other instances where this was in play.

1. In Mark 11, this is the popular fig tree story, Christ said 'Have faith in God. For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. (‭Mark‬ ‭11‬:‭22-23‬ KJV)

Why would Christ say 'have faith in God' and doubt not in your heart'. The reason is simple, because you can have faith and yet doubt at the same time. Your faith can be counterbalance by doubt or unbelief. Most of the time we emphasise on the faith whilst ignoring the unbelief thinking that it will go away. All we need is faith as the size of a mustard seed (referring to the size), as long as it is not contaminated by unbelief it will move mountains. In case you think I am playing tricks with scriptures, see the same story in Matthew 21'Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done. (‭Matthew‬ ‭21‬:‭21‬ KJV)

2. Matthew 14, this is another popular passage, where Peter walked on water for a short distance then began to sink. 'And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?' (‭Matthew‬ ‭14‬:‭31‬ KJV)

Christ said Peter had little faith, but that was not the problem. The problem was that he doubted, which subsequently counteracted the faith. Remember, he walked on water with the little faith and that would have been enough if he did not mix it with unbelief . Peter had faith that was why he could work on water, but when he looked at the boisterous wind he let in unbelief and doubt. Did you notice that Peter did not sink all at once which is what one would expect, but the bible states 'beginning to sink' (strange turn of phrase suggesting that it did not happen suddenly). To my mind this means, the more the unbelief the more he!! can you see that?

Examples of doubt counteracting faith are rife throughout the scriptures, other examples for you to consider are James 1:8, James 4:8, Luke 8:50. But back to our index text Matthew 17:19-21, Christ was specific that this type of UNBELIEF does not go out except by prayer and fasting. Meaning there are different types of Unbeliefs and that is what we are going to look at in the next capsule. How to overcome it by prayer and fasting.

In this capsule we would look at the interplay between faith and unbelief. This is a concept that is not commonly appreciated, we are taught that faith and unbelief cannot co-exist, however that is not what the scriptures teach. The truth is that they can coexist and counterbalance each other so much so that it makes your faith of no effect. Imagine a tug of war where the forces pulling on either sides are equal and opposite, the net effect results in no movement either way. I can almost hear you say 'how can this be, to have belief and unbelief at the same time? Because this seems so far out it will take 2 or 3 capsules of God's pills to debunk the commonly held view that faith and unbelief are mutually exclusive.

We would use Matthew 17:14-21 as our text, this is probably one of the most misunderstood and misapplied text in the bible (at least in my own estimation). The popular teaching is that Christ was showing that there are some demons that you can only get rid off by only by prayer and fasting. Let me just quickly say this, prayer and fasting affects only you, it neither affect God or demons. If a demon does not respond to the name of Christ spoken in faith. It definitely will not respond to any prayer and fasting (Mark 16:17, Philippians 2:9-11).

In Matthew 17:14-21, a curious thing happened to the disciples, try as they may, they could not cast out a demon from a boy. This is particularly significant if you remember that in Matthew 10 Christ had sent them out to preach the gospel and their testimony was that even the demons obeyed them. Against this background they were shocked when they could not get rid of the demon in the boy. The fact that they were shocked that the demon did not leave speaks loads. This was not their expectation because they knew they had faith. Consider this, those who don't have faith would not be surprised if the status quo remain, they would just shrug their shoulders and move on. But these disciples knew that they believed but something had prevented the desired result hence they wanted to know what it was that was hindering the deliverance.

In verse 19 they asked the question 'Why could not we cast him out?. In verse 20 Christ told them the reason 'Because of your unbelief'. He told them the reason they could not cast out the demon was because of their UNBELIEF period! Not that this demon requires prayer and fasting. In fact to emphasise His point He went ahead to stress that even if their faith is as small as a mustard seed it will get the job done as long as there is no unbelief. So what they need to get rid of is their unbelief and this type of unbelief can only be resolved by prayer and fasting! In case you are still in doubt and need clarification check the same story in Mark 9:17-29, in verse 23, Christ said 'If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth' See the response of the father of the boy in verse 24 'Lord, I BELIEVE, help thou mine UNBELIEF'. This shows that there is an unbelief counteracting his belief and he needed help with this.

Except you understand and grasp this concept there will be occasions when you will lose the battle of faith that you ought not to. We all have seen instances when we know the individual is in faith and yet died of sickness, this might be the reason be continued

As promised we would consider the interplay between Hope and Faith this week. In my estimation it would appear that Hope is one of the most underrated and overlooked spiritual force in Christiandorm. I believe this is unfortunate and has led to a lot of faith cripples. The scripture rates Hope highly, probably only second to Love... which is the nature of God.

1 Corinthians 13:13 say:
And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity. (‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭13‬:‭13‬ KJV)

Consider this, if Love is the greatest of the three, logic would suggest that hope is next in line if you consider the way they are arranged... FAITH, HOPE and CHARITY (ie God kind of Love). Secondly, the arrangement and study of scriptures will suggest that Hope is some sort of intermediary between Faith and love (Romans 5:1-5). It took me a long time to appreciate the place of hope in exercising strong Faith, try and follow me, without strong Hope there is no strong Faith. We need to take a closer look at Hope

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. (‭Hebrews‬ ‭11‬:‭1‬ KJV)

Faith is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen; it gives us assurance about things we cannot see. (‭Hebrews‬ ‭11‬:‭1‬ NLT)

Looking at the above popular passage in both translations, it seems to me that Hope is referencing the future while Faith is active in the present. It also suggest that Hope must first be in place before Faith can show up. In other words Hope must be transformed to Faith to be of any use. But how does this happen? What if I say 'faith puts substance to hope, or makes hope tangible, and provides the evidence for what cannot be seen by the naked eyes'.

What this means is that without Hope there is no Faith, because Hope has got to exist in order for Faith to add substance to it. Hope is then the skeleton on which the muscle of faith is added. If the skeleton is poor the whole structure becomes suspect. Another example is to compare Hope to the blueprint of a house and Faith as the house itself. If the blueprint is faulty then the house will be faulty. Just like Hope refers to the future the same with the blueprint, it gives guidance, structure and scope. What Faith does is to bring those things that are in the spiritual realm (realm of hope) into physical reality.

So we need Hope to fire our imagination through the word of God, once we can see it through the eyes of Hope it's only a matter of time before Faith will bring it into reality. It is impossible to have Faith when you see your situation as hopeless. This is what meditation in the word of God does (Joshua 1:8).

That is why we encourage sick people to meditate on healing scriptures, once they see it on the inside and become full of Hope, Faith comes along and wraps it with substance to make the health manifest in your body. It may not be easy. but it's that simple

Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost. (‭Romans‬ ‭15‬:‭13‬ KJV)

Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works. (‭James‬ ‭2‬:‭18‬ KJV)

I have been particularly encouraged by testimonies received since starting this weekly blog on divine healing, especially with this faith series. As previously stated somewhere else that the focus of God's pill might be divine healing but the application of the principles and doctrines is universal. So far I have tried to keep it simple, restricting the write ups to the meat of the matter. I appreciate the fact that some of the things being taught are counterculture and counter intuitive, to help those who really want to give further consideration or ask questions to clarify I would like to invite you to use the comments section or write me using my email below.

This week we would be looking at the interplay between FAITH and WORKS. What I have noticed is that those who are strong in their belief and understanding of the GRACE of God have difficulty in appreciating the place of works. What this does is that it breeds sloppiness and laziness. To be clear works as referred to in James chapter two is not referring to the works of the Law, but action based on your faith. This is what James 2:18 is referring to. In modern parlance we would say 'talk is cheap'. The way to show that you believe what you say you believe is to put 'motion to your notion'! Your action exposes what is in your heart.

We are saved by Grace through faith , but saving faith is never alone! Two things happen to your faith when it is followed by appropriate corresponding action

1. It makes your faith come alive.Your faith becomes vibrant and living        (James 2:20,26).

2. It perfects or makes your faith complete (James 2:22).

I really would have loved to explore and explain why this is so to help your understanding, however time and space would now allow in this forum

I have identified 3 types of actions from the scriptures (This is actually a Femiology or Femism). The first type of action that must always be present is what I call an Attitudinal Change. For your faith to be operative it demands that something should change in your attitude. You are not looking for anything or anybody to validate what you believe, it's like a quiet stubbornness, you just know in your knower. A good example is the Centurion in Luke 7:6-10. He was certain that the healing of his servant was a done deal so much so that the contrary did not cross his mind. This attitude made Christ marvel so much so that He commended it. This shows that the greatest action or work is not necessarily visible.

The second type of action suggest you do something. Exodus 14:13-16 is a good example, Moses assured the children of Israel that God was going to deliver them, but instead of moving forward he started crying to God. The response of God in verses 14-16 is interesting. What God expected him to do was to backup that confession with the corresponding action. Most of the time we say we are waiting on God, whereas the opposite is true. In John 5:8, Christ told a man that has been crippled for 38years to 'rise, take up your bed and walk'. Why? because 'Faith without work is dead!'

The third type of action is to 'stand' or resist. At times you've done all you know to do all that is left is to maintain your stance or resist the temptation to give up (James 4:7, Ephesians 6:13-14). The word resist means to actively fight against, to maintain your stance , refuse to give up or maintain gained ground..

None of these three form of action or work is passive. Some of the greatest healing or victory I have ever experienced came with just a change in attitude based on a firm conviction in my heart. Virtually all the Healing that happened with Christ demanded one or more of these three actions from the recipient, It might be subtle but if you look closely the action will be there, it's a Law of faith.

We would look at Faith and Hope next. Leave a comment or write me (

In the next few capsules I would like to show the interplay of faith with some other spiritual forces. This is important in order to work in strong faith without necessarily going into the extreme. Nothing stands alone. We would be starting with Grace.

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. (‭Ephesians‬ ‭2‬:‭8-9‬ KJV)

One of the commonest statements we all have heard is 'faith moves God'! As right sounding as this statement might be, I believe it is wrong and gives a distorted impression of God. It is not God that needs to move, it is you, GOD MOVED 2000 years ago by faith when Christ paid the price (John 3:16). The day you accepted Christ as your Lord and Saviour is the day you moved by faith to appropriate the provision of salvation that has always been waiting for you.

Let me make it simple, what God has provided through the New Covenant is GRACE, we call it unmerited favour because no man deserved or worked for it (Romans 11:6). Your positive response to Grace is Faith, or Faith only appropriates what God has already provided by Grace.

Often times I have heard somebody praying for healing and the result is not forth coming say 'I really don't know what else I can do, I have prayed and fasted yet I am still sick'. What they are actually saying is 'what do I do to get God to move or heal me?' The problem with this attitude is multifaceted .

1.You are more focused on what you have done not what God/Christ did already. This is work mentality, you are trying to earn what God
provided by grace, what you should do is receive it as a gift (Ephesians 2:8,9)

2. This attitude gives the impression that God is reluctant to heal you. This is anti-scripture. As far as God is concerned, He has already healed you, that is why 1Peter 2:24 is in past tense.

3. Your prayer and fasting may change you, but not God. Your prayer and fasting may make you love God more, God already loved you unconditionally (John 3:16, Romans 5:8)

I know this is counter culture , by all means we should pray like we've never prayed before, we should fast like we've never fasted before but we should do it with the right motive. Praying and fasting makes our heart tender and more sensitive to spiritual things hence we become more audacious in FAITH to access GRACE (Romans 5:1,2)

We would consider the interplay of faith and work next. God loves you so do I.

But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. (Hebrews 11:6 KJV)

Now we have come to the third ingredient of faith. It is my sincere hope that things are just a bit clearer and your understanding better. The spiritual can be taught and understood. The third ingredient talks about DILIGENTLY SEEKING GOD.

Anybody can seek God when their back is against the wall, but only few would make this a lifestyle and that is what separates the boys from the men. If you don't want to be a faith cripple you must exercise your faith muscle consistently and constantly, this is what pleases God. When you are in faith , it means you are constantly in touch with Him. There is no way you can fellowship with God except through faith because He is not accessible to the five physical senses.

Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him. (‭Hebrews‬ ‭10‬:‭38‬ KJV)

The same thought is seen in Romans 1:17, Galatians 3:11 and Habakkuk 2:4. If we are to grow in grace we have to live by faith because spiritual things can only be accessed through faith (Romans 5:2). Don't forget that God is a Spirit and blessings are spiritual ( John 4:24 and Ephesians 1:3 respectively). Healing comes from the spirit , so living diligently by faith gives you ready access to divine health. You don't have to be sick , however if you fall sick you don't have to stay that way.(Capsules 9,11. Romans 8:11). The same applies for all the covenant promises and provision

To recap, those who come to God must believe that GOD is who He says He is, He rewards and wants us to be in constant fellowship with Him.

But without faith it is impossible to please Him: for he that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him. (‭Hebrews‬ ‭11‬:‭6‬ KJV)

In Capsule 34 we started with the first of the three ingredients of faith 'when you come to God, you must believe that He is'. I took time to explain that there is no point coming to God if you don't have an irrefutable belief in both His person and integrity. As important as this step is it is not enough. In fact it won't get you much because that is what 'religion' preaches. Even demons believe that God exist. 'Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble (James‬ ‭2‬:‭19‬ KJV). This is probably one of the greatest put down in the word of God.

STEP 2 (Second Ingredient)

'.............for he that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder....(‭Hebrews ‭11‬:‭6 in part‬ KJV)

The second ingredient says when you come to God you do not only believe that He is, but also believe that He is a rewarder. This is the most crucial and delicate step, it goes deep into what the nature of who God is, His whole essence.....LOVE. This is where 'religion is completely different from Christianity'. There is a yearning in the heart of God, all His actions are expressed through love. See John 3:16, God loved the world so much that the way He expressed it was to give the best He had. Not only is God all powerful, the unique thing is His willingness to put it at your disposal, but your level of expectation is what limits Him (Ephesians 3:20).

This step is the one I regard as the most crucial , it seems to me the most difficult for majority of us to grasp. Somehow religion has robbed us of the joy of this step. We tend to act as if we need to beg and plead with God in order to earn His reward. We do not have any doubt that God is able to do what He has promised, the struggle we have is 'WILL HE DO IT FOR ME?'. This is usually more evident in cases where physical manifestation is needed like healing. Let's take our salvation for example, when we come to God and confess Christ as Lord, virtually everybody I know believed that God wiped away their sin subsequently and they are saved. We then expect the dividends of salvation to follow. The only reason for this, is that we believed that 'he that comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder...' Do you see my point? The same way when you come to God for healing , deliverance from demonic oppression or poverty , you must believe that He is a rewarder. (Colossians 2:6,7). This sounds simple, but it truly is, although it is not easy because religion wars against our mind. We keep asking ourselves 'have I done enough to merit it?' Think about it for a minute, if salvation which is the greatest miracle you will ever experience can be straight forward why should healing or deliverance be more difficulty?

Having the attitude that 'God is a rewarder' is important because it speaks of your expectation and also helps you to retain the manifestation of what you are expecting. The reason why some Christians pray and don't get the result they desire is because they are not sure of what they are expecting in the first instance. Let me put it this way, 'it is less than useless to pray if you are not expecting an answer (reward)' 1John 5:14-15, Matthews 7:7-9.

Lastly, you must not fall into the trap of thinking that somehow you've earned it, you need to constantly remind yourself that it is the faithfulness and grace of God (Romans 11:6). The joy of this is that it frees you from any condemnation and burden of performance. This helps to build and boost your confidence to walking in faith.

We will look at the third ingredient of faith in Capsule 36, don't go away.

But without faith it is impossible to please Him: for he that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him. (‭Hebrews‬ ‭11‬:‭6‬ KJV)

To continue our discussion on faith it will be useful to look at what I have titled the ingredients of faith, they are three in all, you could call them steps or parts it really does not matter. These three must be present for you to walk in the God kind of faith.

Hebrew 11:6 is crucial to our study. It starts with 'But without faith it is impossible to please God..' Meaning there is no substitute to walking in faith if you want to please God, period!
Anything we do if it is to have acceptance before God, it has to be done in faith (Romans 14:23). God has an 'obsession' to be believed because He is a Spirit ( see Romans 8:8, Hebrews 11:3)

The primary desire of any right thinking Christian should and must be to please God (Revelations 4:11). Since that is the case it becomes imperative that we get it right. The beauty of Hebrews 11:6 is that the B part explains why this is so and how to achieve this objective. It gives the three parts that produces the kind of faith that pleases God.

'.......for he that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him. (‭Hebrews‬ ‭11‬:‭6‬b KJV)

These are the three steps of faith, they all have to be present, 2 out of 3 would not do. If these three parts are present it will produce healing, joy, peace, wisdom, deliverance, material possession or whatever it is you need that is promised in the covenant.

The first step is that you must BELIEVE THAT GOD IS! What this means is that you must believe that God exist and He is who He says He is. This is the starting point. There is no point coming to Him if you have any doubts about His existence and the veracity of His word. Every word of His is sustained by the integrity of His person. So when you come to Him you must believe that He can backup everything that He has said (Hebrews 1:3, Titus 1:2)

A practical example is when you are sick and you come to Him, you must believe' whose stripes ye were healed'. (‭1 Peter‬ ‭2‬:‭24‬ in part KJV). This verse implies that what you are asking for is already done. The type or severity of the sickness makes no difference with God. This applies to every aspect of our Christianity as long as there is provision for it in the new covenant. This is the first step of faith, it cannot be circumvented, if this step or ingredient is missing or skipped every other thing is a waste of time. You must first settle in your mind and BELIEVE THAT HE IS.

As important as this step is, it is not enough, you need two more to make it effective, it's like a gun, you need to load it with a bullet, then cork it, take your aim before you fire.

Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth. And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief. (Mark 9:23, 24 KJV)

In the preceding capsule I tried to explain that faith is resident in each and everyone of us born again child of God, we now know it's the sensory organ of the born again spirit. The challenge we have is the need to consciously deploy it and not allow it to stay dormant. When we walk in faith God is pleased because it shows we are His children, God is a God of faith.

Knowing that God is a faith being is one thing, He really wants us to respond back in faith. In Mark 9: 23-24, the father of the boy must have done everything that he knew to do but Christ was trying to refocus his endeavour In verse 22 the father of the boy was putting all the responsibility on Christ, however in verse 23 Christ would not allow him to do that. He told the boy's father that he had a role to play, in other words 'faith is a two way street'!

Often times when it comes to healing, the sick needs to believe, deploy their faith to whatever extent they are able so that when you minister to them the sickness will disappear and the healing will manifest . (There are several reasons why this is so, unfortunately we do not have enough space to go into these).

In Mark 6:5-6, Christ could not perform the supernatural in His hometown . Notice that the passage says 'Christ COULD NOT DO' not that He wouldn't do. The reason why this happened is found in verse 6....'because of their unbelief'. Still in the same chapter verse 56 the direct opposite happened.

When Jesus heard it, he marvelled, and said to them that followed, Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel. (‭Matthew‬ ‭8‬:‭10‬ KJV)

In Matthew 8 the Centurion deployed his faith so much so that he made Christ marvel. All the Centurion wanted was for Christ to agree with him in words, he knew that faith is 'a two way street.'

Lastly, not everybody can express the same level of faith. What is important is that some level of expression must be present, evident and pure. That is why Christ said even if your faith is as small as a mustard seed it can move mountain (i.e. huge long standing problems). The Centurion was so active in faith all he needed was for Christ to say the word (Luke 7:7), in Mark 5:22-43, the woman with the menstrual problem needed to make physical contact to activate her faith, whereas Jairus was not strong enough to do either of these but believed enough that if Christ could get to his house his daughter would be healed. The three had to 'cooperate' the best way they can with Christ to get the job done. That is the message of Amos 3:3

Wednesday, 13 August 2014

For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.(Romans 12:3 KJV)

In this series we have discussed the importance of faith in the life of a Christian and gone further to identify the kind of faith we are talking about specifically. Probably one of the greatest challenge we have is believing that we have the God kind of faith (GKF), faith that is able to reach into the invisible and bring things into the physical realm. I hear people all the time say 'if only I have faith to do this or that..' This is an unfortunate statement because it goes counter to the word of God. To start with no man can become born again without the God kind of faith (Ephesians 2:8).

See Romans 12:3, this verse ends by saying that 'God hath dealt to everyone the measure of faith'. This is pretty straight forward, at the new birth it took the faith imparted by God to everyone of us to become born again. In fact being born again is the greatest miracle that would happen to you and it would have been impossible without you reaching for it without the God Kind of faith (GKF). The issue we have is that once we become born again we forget how we got here in the first place.

As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him: Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving (Colossians 2:6-7 KJV)

Colossians 2:6-7, explains it, that the same way we received Christ through faith is the same way we should continue, subsequently your faith will become established. In other words we should develop the faith habit. The tendency is to revert to the old ways once we become born again.

O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you? This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?
Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh? ((Galatians 3:1-3)

This problem is so prevalent and longstanding that the Apostle Paul devoted a whole epistle to counter it. In fact he likened it to operating under a spell. This is probably one of the greatest deception of Satan, if he cannot stop you from the new birth , he would keep you under the deception that you have no faith, that is the reason Paul described it as 'spell' or bewitchment'

So how do we overcome this great challenge? You can only deploy your faith for what you know has been made available by grace. That is why Romans 10:7 says 'So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.' The word of God is the mirror of the spiritual world, it acquaints you with what is provided in the new covenant. You can't physically see, touch, smell, feel or taste the spiritual world but the word of God presents a perfect representation so that faith (GKF) the sense organ of your spirit can see (Read capsule 30).

Lastly, there is nothing inferior about your faith, this ought to be obvious, we were all born again through the same process. In fact the Apostle Peter said we all have the same precious faith (2 Peter 1:1), what more do you want ? What we lack is the faith habit.

In capsule 33, you will see that faith is a two way street , Amos 3:3

And Jesus answering saith to them, 'Have faith of God' (Mark 11:22 YLT)

In the first capsule of this series I started by emphasising the importance of faith and to be fair majority of Christians do appreciate this fact, unfortunately this has led to another set of problems.

1John 5:4 says 'For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith'

The scripture above says faith always guarantee your victory, however this is not the experience of the vast majority. We try everything we know to do and if it does not work we become confused because our experiences have not matched the scripture. The question is, which kind of faith?

In Mark 11:22 Christ answered the question by saying 'have faith in God' or in the literal Hebrew 'have faith of God' that is the God kind of faith. In my study of the word, personal experience and interaction with other Christians, I have come to identify three entities that on the surface might look alike but are vastly different when people talk about faith.

The first of this is what I call the Natural Human Faith or faith based on the five physical senses. This comes from knowledge accumulated through the physical senses and experience, if we are not careful we can confuse it with the God kind of faith. An expression of this is seen in the way we interact with things and people based on our previous experience. For instance we buy a flight ticket expecting to get to our destination once we board the plane. We drive through the traffic light when it turns green believing that others will stop, we sit on a four legged chair putting all our weight on it believing it will not collapse, the examples are endless. At the root of it all is the knowledge we have gathered from experiences based on physical senses. This faith is based on sense knowledge and limited, it will get you some things but not a miracle or the supernatural. Everybody have access to this faith even non-Christians.

The second type of faith is Mental Assent. This is where a vast majority of Christians find themselves. This faith give assent to the power of the gospel, agrees with all the promises mentally, all outward actions and confession suggest total agreement but in their heart there is a persistent nagging question that invalidates and disqualifies. The question is 'will God do it for me?' This question might never be spoken out, but it's there deep seated in the heart causing paralysing fear. This kind of faith is empty and non productive, it is full of empty confessions. Romans 10:10 'for with the heart we believe unto righteousness and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation '

Lastly, the God kind of faith. This is the real deal, this is the faith the Just must live by, it is the faith that Christ is referring to in Mark 11:22. Unlike the natural human faith, this faith 'call things that be not as if they were or in modern English, it acknowledges the existence of what the physical sense cannot perceive. Everything exist in two forms, the spiritual and the physical. God kind of faith have access to the spiritual form and is able to bring it into the physical realm, that is what we call the 'supernatural or miracle'. For the purpose of our blog, healing is already available in the spiritual form or realm. God kind of faith transfers it from the spiritual realm into your body which is in the physical realm. The natural human faith stays in the physical realm, mental assent peeps into the spiritual realm but is too timid to go in. If you want to enjoy the supernatural (that is outside of the natural) you will have to reach for it beyond the physical realm into the spiritual realm and bring it into the physical where you are, You can only do this with the God kind of Faith.

Let me encourage you with this, there is nothing wrong with the natural human faith as long as you appreciate it's limitations , in fact you can't do without it. God has given you your five physical senses for a reason, what we need to appreciate is that they constitute half the story, there is a spiritual world and it is more superior.

While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal. (‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭4‬:‭18‬ KJV)

As promised with this capsule we will be starting the faith series and as always my intention is to stir you up. For clarification this is not about the gift of Faith (1Corinthians 12), this is more about the faith received at salvation and faith for every day living. I hate to make a distinction between the last 2 because I believe one is a progression of the other. The thrust of this blog is divine healing, but the application is general to every aspect of Christian life. Even though it's a series there is no way I will be able to communicate everything I know in a blog, remember God's pills are designed to be small and smooth enough to swallow , easily digestible to release the goodness, so strictly no heavy stuff, in fact we are going back to basics.

(For we walk by faith, not by sight:) (‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭5‬:‭7‬ KJV)

2 Corinthians 5:7 says 'we walk by faith', Romans 1:17, Galatians 3:11, Hebrews 10:38 all say 'the just shall live by faith', Romans 14:23 says whatsoever is not of faith is sin! (Many more ..). It would appear to me that faith is as important to a Christian as water to a fish, but why?

2 Corinthians 5:7 gives an insight, faith is the sense 'organ' of the spirit. Let me explain, the physical body has 5 sensory organs ( sight, touch, taste, smell and hearing). These five are designed to help the physical body express itself under the most favourable conditions. They give direction, protection from danger, even make you enjoy the good things in life - that is why they are called physical senses. But don't forget that man is a SPIRIT, lives in a body and has a soul. The real you is your spirit hence faith is the spiritual sense organ that real you live by. As the body never takes leave of the five physical senses, so your faith must remain active 24/7 that is why Habakkuk 2:4b says 'the just shall live by his faith'. The physical body cannot express itself without the 5 physical senses, just like the spirit cannot live to its full potential without faith.

There is a difference between living and existing . It is possible for the Just or a Christian to exist without faith ( in fact that is the case with a significant majority).Christians that live by their physical senses alone are called Carnal, that is ruled by the physical senses. however if you intend to LIVE and not just exist, that is thrive and be the best that God wants you to be , you can only do it by or through faith.

Let me paint you a picture, people with non functional physical sense (e.g. blind, deaf or dumb etc) are labelled 'disabled' because they are limited / hampered, and in the worse case scenario when more than one of the physical senses are severely affected we describe them as been in a vegetative state even though they are alive. It's the same way when you have a non functioning or you are not functioning in faith (without being too graphic I hope you are getting the picture).

By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. (‭Romans‬ ‭5‬:‭2‬ KJV)

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God (Ephesians 2:8 KJV)

Again, grace ( that is all that Christ made available through His atoning sacrifice ) is only accessible through faith. Divine health, deliverance from demonic oppression, prosperity/material wealth and forgiveness of sin can only be accessed through faith. These things are spiritual and you can only access them spiritually. That is why Ephesians 1:3 says 'we have been blessed with all spiritual blessings in the heavenly places in Christ '. Faith is the spiritual currency that brings them to the physical., because although we are spirits, we live in a physical body and world............. to be continued.

Don't go away, the ride is about to pickup speed.

As promised in this capsule I will be showing you how to walk away from any generational curse. In the previous 2 capsules I have showed you that a curse is a word spoken with sole aim of causing spiritual damage and consequently psychological and physical manifestation. I showed that we have been translated from the kingdom of darkness to the kingdom of light . This is a present and current reality, it has happened. This makes the operation of any curse in the life of a Christian 'illegal',

A logical and legitimate question is ' If all these are true, why am I still experiencing all these generational sickness and disease? I am glad you asked! (Refer to God's pill capsule 24,25,26) . The short answer is if you believe and start acting on these truths you will get the result promised! You cannot, I repeat you cannot put that responsibility on any other person apart from yourself.

No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is of me, saith the Lord. (‭ Isaiah‬ ‭54‬:‭17‬ , please read in context vs 15-17 KJV)

For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. (‭Romans‬ ‭10‬:‭10‬ KJV)

Isaiah 54:17, if properly understood is making reference to the Born again believer (Isaiah 53-55). It is pretty emphatic and absolute in its declaration. Any tongue that rise against you in judgement (aka curse), YOU shall condemn ( that is countermand or declare that they are not fit for purpose. That is what condemn means). Instead of doing this, we ask God or others to do it for us. No, God has already given you the authority and power, He expects you to use it (John 1:12, 1John 3:8, Acts 1:8, James 4:7, Matthew 16:19, Mark 11:22-24).

Curses are spoken words set into motion, they can be BROKEN or STOPPED in their operation by spoken words countermanding them, but it has to come from a believing heart, that is the whole thrust of Romans 10:10 above. Always remember that you have the power and authority, not based on your works, but by grace . Do this continually and relentlessly, don't back off , not for a second (Ephesians 6:13)

Without a doubt everyone of us at some point in time feel like backing off and turning tail, but you will notice that the armour of God described in Ephesians 6:14-17 does not make provision for your back, in fact you become more vulnerable if you turn around.

Let me end on a personal note. About 5 years ago, a well meaning Sister told me a dream she had concerning me. Apparently in that dream I made a boast in the Lord and this occultic group of people took umbrage and were determined to punish and possibly kill me. She wanted us to pray and fast together, in fact she went and told a few people she knew I respected, asking them to call me. She was shocked when I said there and then that there was no need. She wanted to know why? I responded with Isaiah 54:15-17 and walked away. She could not understand. That was 5 years ago!

Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:
That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith (Galatians 3:13-14 KJV)

Christianity is simple and straight forward but religion has complicated things,. Am I saying its easy? Of course not! But as you begin to put it into practise you will see that we have made things unnecessarily difficulty.

But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day (Proverbs 4:18 KJV)

We will start The Faith Series next, as usual things won't be dull.

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. (‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭5‬:‭17‬ KJV)

How I wish I had the time and space to discuss the above scripture in depth. If you truly understand what this scripture is saying in context you will walk away free from any generational curse no matter how bad. The stumbling block with most Christians is that we pay mental accent to the word of God but it is not real to our heart. I will give a real example.

I once noticed certain pattern of behaviour from a 'mature' Christian , so I asked him about it. The answer was 'I have to be careful of what I eat'. I asked, why? He replied ' because of diabetes, it's in the family'!

I knew right there and then that he would end up having diabetes, because already he was beaten and have already accepted it . I was not surprised 6 months down the line when he was diagnosed with full blown Diabetes Mellitus . Instead of kicking diabetes out, he had accepted it .....'IT'S IN THE FAMILY'

For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. (‭Romans‬ ‭10‬:‭10‬ KJV)

You can pretend to onlookers , but you cannot deny what is in your heart. Job said 'For the thing which I greatly feared is come upon me, and that which I was afraid of is come unto me.' (‭Job‬ ‭3‬:‭25‬ KJV)

You can pray, you can fast, they might even lay hands on you and anoint with a barrel of oil, except the reality takes root in your heart you will struggle to break free. That is why you see Christians go for 'deliverance' over and over. Paul called it 'having a form of godliness but denying the power thereof' 'ever learning, never coming to the knowledge of the truth. (2Timothy 3:5,7KJV)
Even if somebody helps you to break free, except this truth dawns in your heart like a day-star your freedom will be temporary and fleeting. (Matthew 12:43-45 KJV)

2 Corinthians 5:17 says

Therefore if any is in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away, behold, all things are become new (KJV)

This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun! (NLT)

The question is , which family do you belong to, your old or the new? You cannot belong to the new and be afraid of the old vice versa. I made up my mind a long time ago that I am in Christ, that entitles me to all the privileges and definitely a curse whether generational or otherwise is not a privilege. (Ephesians 1:3, John 1:12 KJV)

In Part 3 I will show you how to deploy these truths and walk away from any generational curse!

In those days they shall say no more, The fathers have eaten a sour grape, and the children's teeth are set on edge.
But every one shall die for his own iniquity: every man that eateth the sour grape, his teeth shall be set on edge (Jeremiah 31:29-30)

Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:
Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:
In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins (Colossians 1:12-14)

The subject of generational curse is such an emotive one that it has been exploited in various ways to keep the gullible under subjugation. Some Churches and even Denominations have been built around it. This ought not to be so, if only we would give the word of God the rightful place that it deserves.
Let me also recognise here that everything that I will be teaching against, I have at sometime believed, so my intention is purely to shed light .Again because there is so much misconception in this area I might need 2 capsules to cure this ailment.

A curse is a negative utterance with the sole aim of causing harm, adversity or misfortune. As indicated from the topic we are discussing this could manifest through generations (however we are remaining on the subject of sickness and disease). The opposite of a curse is blessing, so by definition a blessing is a spoken favour that manifest in good fortune. Both i.e. Curse and Blessing are spiritual, they cannot be seen, what we see is the manifestation.

With this been said, it is eminently possible to break and destroy the effectiveness of a curse and this is what I will like to explore.
Curses are pronounced or set into motion by words , words can be used to stop them.

See Jeremiah 31:29-30, This is a prophetic scripture about the new covenant saint (Jeremiah 31 if read in context will show this). When we become born again we are translated from the kingdom of darkness where curse hold sway into the kingdom of light where operation of a curse becomes illegal so to say. Knowing this, is central to stopping the destructive effect of curse (2 Cor 5:17-21, Romans 8:2). See Colossians 1:12-14, we have been 'delivered' from the power of darkness (past tense), 'translated' into the kingdom of His dear Son (past tense). It is not in the future, it is right now!!

Until this become a reality that you fully grasp, that you know in your 'knower', you will be subject to all sorts of spiritual gimmickry and crudity that will hold you in slavery to one person or the other, looking for solution that is already available to you (Galatians 3:29, 4:1-7). I have seen people move from slavery of a curse to the slavery of their denomination just because they are confused making themselves open to exploitation (Galatians 5:1). The truth is, if you know how, you can break free from any curse and reverse the effect.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ, (Ephesians 1:3)

If you are born again, the above scripture is already in operation in your life, although you might be ignorant of this, hence you are not enjoying the benefits. Even in the old covenant when a blessing is activated it can stop or prevent any curse.(Number 23:8,19-20,23) and I say what we have in Christ is far great than this (Matthew 11:11).

In capsule 28 we would see how to break the curse and enjoy the blessing. Don't be fooled your deliverance is in your own hands, not any other person's

FEAR, SIN AND IGNORANCE (Tackling the terrible TRIPLET)
All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works. (2 Timothy 3:16, 17 KJV)

We would be looking at the third of the terrible triplet in this capsule, ignorance. In my estimation this is the most dangerous of the three, in fact if you can deal with this the other two will fall in line.

It is a great deception if you think that there is substitute for knowledge . For anything to be meaningful, effective and productive it must be based on knowledge, not just knowledge but the right knowledge. Nature abhors vacuum, if you don't have the right knowledge you will operate on sentiments or superstition or tradition (Mark 7:13)

Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth (2 Timothy 2:15 KJV)

Unfortunately there is no shortcut , except you find out for yourself you will end up parroting others. Your final authority must be the word of God. At times we try to add weight to what we believe by attaching the name of a respected man or woman of God. The problem with this is that you are trying to live on somebody else's revelation, it won't sustain you. That is the problem the second type of soil in Matthew 13 and Mark 4 had.

Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free (John 8:31,32 KJV)

The scripture above is often quoted, but see what it says. Its the truth that 'you know' that will make you free, not the one that Sister or Brother so and so validates. The Greek word translated 'know' is 'ginosko' which refers to intimate personal knowledge of something. This can only happen when you have meditated on it such that it has become a personal, practical concept. Am I saying we can't learn from others? Definitely no, in fact we should!

These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so (Acts 17:11 KJV)

The Christians in Berea were described as noble because despite the fact that they were receptive to Apostle Paul, the word of God was their final authority. They meditated on these truths until they became theirs. When you have an intimate knowledge of 'by His stripes you were healed' then disease and sickness would have met more than their match (1Timothy 4:15,16 KJV)

PS - In capsule 27, we will discuss how to break generational curse. I'm excited, I can't wait, don't miss it!!!
