Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them. (Mark 11:24 KJV)

This is usually a shock to a lot of people and might become an hindrance to healing!
We think once we desire the healing it should manifest. The truth is that desire alone is never enough and this ought to be obvious.

All around us we see people, good people dying of sickness and disease despite a strong desire to be healed . To compound the problem , because we are sure of their desire we become confused when the healing fails to manifest . We know that they prayed, they fasted and we sometimes even 'interceded' on their behalf, yet nothing happened! So we reach all sorts of wrong conclusions.

Yes, without a doubt, strong desire is necessary to overcome the inertia but that is not the end of the story. The passage above says 'believe'. Believe what? That you receive (present tense), and you shall have it (future tense).

It's often thought that to 'receive it' and 'have it' are one and the same? Not according to this scripture and others. To receive it refers to spiritual assurance that your desire have been met i.e. a confirmation in the spiritual that the deed is done. 'To have it' is the physical manifestation. There is a time interval between the two, but it does not necessarily have to be long.

They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. (Mark 16:18 KJV)

Can you see it again, 'lay hands on the sick (present), and they shall recover (future). So when you pray for healing you must believe you received it there and then. Once you know you have received it, commanding it to manifest is not as difficult because you don't have any doubt that it is already yours.

For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he............... (Proverbs 23:7a KJV)

A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things. (Matthew 12:35 KJV)

Your life is reflecting the 'treasures' of your heart (mind). The first scripture says that a man's thought life is actually who he is. If not currently, give it time, it will manifest. This is why the prayer of agreement should not be rushed into. You must search the thoughts of the heart of who you are dealing with and make sure they are aligned with yours. Why? Because of the second scripture.

Let's put it this way, success comes from within and failure comes from the inside. Don't blame anybody for your failure, certainly not where healing is concerned, you will be abdicating your responsibility. Healing is on the inside , focus on it and push it out. No this is not mind over matter, this is pure Holy Ghost. You are basing it on the promises of God, not some wishy-washy, mamby-pamby nonsense.

If you are going to overcome sickness or disease, you must first see it on the inside. Spend time thinking good thoughts see yourself on the inside the way God sees you.Let the well of water build up from inside of you, overcome all the obstacles on the inside first.

Again I say this is not mind over matter, IT IS HAVING YOUR MIND OVER WHAT REALLY MATTERS. This is why praise and thanksgiving is so powerful. True praise and thanks giving sets your mind on the reward. You cannot be praising and giving thanks and not have victory set on your mind.

Once your thinking is right your speaking will be right and your acting will be right, healing will follow like day after night.

For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. (Romans 8:6 KJV)

That's a good question. Like your words, your thoughts will either lead to healing or sickness. In fact you can't get healed thinking sick and you can't stay sick thinking healed. This is particularly important in long term sickness, you will have to change your thoughts if you are going to manifest the healing. (There is a lot to this and I'm tempted to delve deep, but capsules have got to be small enough to swallow).

The scripture above says the content of your mind decides the direction of your life. Your mind has the ability to express carnality ( i.e. of the five senses) and when it does that, death is the reward. In case you don't know sickness and disease are death in SLOW MOTION.
On the other hand your mind can express spirituality and thereby release Life. When this happens it overcomes sickness and disease.

Your mind is flexible, it will process whatever you feed it with, you have to train it.
Those who have long term illness, after sometime have a fixed picture of themselves in their mind, the think sick, eat sick, live sick and even when they dream they see themselves sick with all the physical limitations. Except they change this image, effecting divine healing and maintaining it will be difficult .

How do I do this I hear you ask? By renewing your mind I say (Romans 12:2 ). You can teach your mind to think right, it takes a conscious effort, but yes it can be done. 2 Corinthians 10:4-5 equips you to do that. This is probably one of the biggest struggle you will ever face, but it is doable and well worth it. If you don't like what is in your mind, change it. literally FORCE IT. Philippians 4:8.

The word meditation and worry describe the same process but different focus. When you meditate like bible says, you are giving attention to the word of God and the reward is life. When you worry you are giving attention to the negative.

A man's belly shall be satisfied with the fruit of his mouth; and with the increase of his lips shall he be filled. Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof. (Proverbs18:20, 21 KJV)

When it comes to healing , or anything else for that matter, it matters what you say. The other side of the coin is that what you allow others to say around or over you also matters. Words are the parent for everything seen and unseen, if you plan to live in good health you better master them.

The scripture above makes the point so eloquently, words are like fruits from your lips, when God gave you your mouth,  He gave you the means to control your welfare. Verse 20 says death and life are in the power of the tongue. Your words are either releasing death or life, nothing else, so if disease attacks your body , curse it! Then release healing after with your words. Don't stand there acting helpless.

No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is of me, saith the Lord. (Isaiah 54:17 KJV)

There is nothing stronger than words that comes from a believing heart, that is why you need to meditate on the right things. Isaiah 54:17 says weapons are launched with tongue, notice that it also says YOU should condemn it . How ? With your tongue. The word condemn means 'not fit for purpose', so when disease or sickness attacks, speak to it, condemn it, and then declare victory in the name of Jesus Christ. Everything is designed to respond to WORDS, even your body!

When they say it's flu season , tell them you have decided not to take part. If they say 1 in 4 people will suffer or die of cancer, tell them that 'the law of the spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and death'! Romans 8:2
