Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. (‭2 Peter‬ ‭1‬:‭20‬ KJV)

Happy New year, I wish you wealth and health in 2015 ( it sounds like a cliché, but it isn't). This year lets start from the basics. I have come to realise that what trips us in life are the simple things (the big ones are obvious enough). If only we would pay attention to the word of God and accept it at face value, our struggles will be less. We are always reading hidden meaning to things, which eventually complicate them. The above scripture is expressing the same sentiment, keep it simple! With that in mind let's consider

Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth. (‭3 John‬ ‭1‬:‭2‬ KJV)

The above scripture is straight forward and needs virtually no explanation or interpretation. What is obvious here is that left to God alone , two things will be 'constant' in our lives;  1. Good Health and 2. Prosperity.

In fact the scripture says they top God's wish list for us. Unfortunately the level to which we enjoy them is governed by us or more accurately by the direction of our thinking ( your soul prospers). I am convinced that if we truly understand and grasp the depth of this scripture the need to pray for both will be minimal or almost none existent. I know this sounds far-fetched, but let me show you. Have you noticed that people who have revealed knowledge (revelation) of material prosperity and how to walk in it hardly ever have to pray for money? The reason is simple, they have come to accept the first part of the scripture. If this is the case, why is divine health a struggle or why is it different, when both form part of what that scripture promises? The reason is simple they have spent time meditating on the new covenant promises involving material prosperity such that their minds have become renewed in this area.(Hebrews 8:6).

In the early sixties Christians actually thought it was godly to be poor, then came the outpouring of teachings and revelation knowledge about material prosperity such that we all now believe for it. The same will happen with divine healing, because 2 John 3, that promises material wealth also guarantee divine health.

One of the most damaging way to end prayer for divine healing is to say 'if it be thy will'. It is so damaging, it kills the flow of your faith in this direction because you are not sure of what you are asking for (Hebrews 11:6). I know it sounds humble but this type of 'humbility' will keep you sick, it's a wrong attitude and makes mockery of the 3 John 2. I find it most frustrating when people come to me to agree with them in prayer for healing and they are not sure whether God wants them well. It is virtually useless to pray such prayer because we are not in agreement. If we are to walk in divine health we would have to keep it simple.

In the next few capsules this will be our focus, we need to uncomplicate things before we move into the dynamics.
