GOD'S PILL 2015: CAPSULE 18

RENEW YOUR MIND (PART 4)

This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success. (‭Joshua‬ ‭1‬:‭8‬ KJV)

We are on how to renew your mind and a lot has been said. In the last capsule we introduced the concept of meditation ( which means to study, consider, imagine, mutter and ponder), it also means to brood or hover on something. This is the picture word at the beginning of creation. You will notice that the Holy Spirit had spent sometime doing this (we are not told how long) before God spoke or confessed light into being. The confession was effective and productive because there was a period of meditation, the words spoken by God carried seeds of life for creation with them (Genesis chapter 1: verse 2 , then verses 3 to 30).

This principle is universal and infallible, you can apply it to healing, prosperity, freedom from demonic oppression and sin. I challenge you, in fact I double dare you to follow through and see if things won't turn out for the better. Take scriptures on healing walk in the spirit with them, study, consider, imagine, mutter, ponder, hover and brood over them, and when the time comes set a fire to them with your tongue. In fact there is no way you will meditate on something properly and not end up confessing it. What we call revelation knowledge is when you mind becomes renewed, and grasp a spiritual concept to the exclusion of doubt.

To most of us this process appear alien and difficult, but in actual fact it is not. Worry and anxiety are actually meditation on the wrong things or in the wrong direction. We all do it, what you should learn to do is spend the same energy on the right things and in the right direction (Philippians 4:6-8, Luke 10:41-42).

Before we end this capsule, I will like to show you two things. The first is in Joshua 1:8, look at the phrase 'that thou may observe to do according to all that is written therein' or in other words 'walk in the spirit' or 'be guided by the word, which is a true reflection of the spiritual'. I'm bringing it up again to emphasise what it means to walk in the spirit. Lastly, it says as you do this your life will TRANSFORM! We will deal with this more in the next capsule, till then keep walking in health and in wealth.

GOD'S PILL 2015: CAPSULE 17

RENEW YOUR MIND (PART 3)

And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. (‭Romans‬ ‭12‬:‭2‬ KJV)

In the last capsule we considered the process of renewing our minds and the consequence, to reiterate it is to make manifest or bring to physical reality the will of God. For instance Ephesians 1:3, says 'we are blessed with all spiritual blessing in heavenly places.....' So in reality a Christian really does not need to pray to be blessed because he or she is already blessed with ALL spiritual blessings. But we live in a physical world! The way to then make these blessings (which are spiritual) manifest in the physical world is by renewing your mind. So really what you need to invest your time and energy on is renewing your mind (2Peter1:2-4, 2Tim.3:16-17, 2Tim.2:15). So how do you renew your mind I hear you say? I'm glad you asked.

You renew your mind by MEDITATING on the word of God at every available opportunity (that is day and night). To meditate means to study, consider, imagine, mutter and ponder. It means each of these and all of them together. Remember , the word of God is a perfect reflection of the spiritual world, so if you are going to walk in the spirit you will have to be guided by it. So as you study, consider, imagine mutter and ponder on it, things spiritual become real to you because you've been there so to say. As you do this your mind creates a bridge for the spiritual to flow to the physical. Look at Joshua 1:8, it says as you meditate on the word of God your life will align or adjust or reflect it in the physical (my paraphrase).

Another way of explaining it is this, the word of God is a spiritual SEED, meditation helps to plant and nurture it in your mind so that the physical fruit manifest in your life (Psalm 1:2-3, Mark 4:26-29). This is so fundamental that you cannot circumvent it. You cannot believe what you have not meditated on and your confession will only be meaningful or productive or yield results if you believe what you are saying. Christian confession have given a bad name because of inappropriate use. I see people repeat a scripture over and over, expecting something to happen. When it fails to materialise they then reach the conclusion that the word does not work. Romans 10:9 says 'For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation '.

Confession is important , it forms a part of meditation, but only a part. It is only effective when you are confessing what you already believe . You see what you are confessing already exist in the spiritual world, you are not confessing to make it so, it is already so. But it needs to have been planted in your mind from your spirit if you are going to be able to harvest it with your lips. The process by which it moves from your spirit and take root in your mind or RENEW YOUR MIND is MEDITATION. Meditation is the cure for double mindedness (James 1:6-8). Like I said in the previous capsule, the process is simple but it is not an easy fix.

GOD'S PILL 2015: CAPSULE 16

RENEW YOUR MIND (PART 2)

And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. (‭Romans‬ ‭12‬:‭2‬ KJV)

In the last capsule we started on how to change the course of your thought life using Romans 12:2 as our text. This is a constant continuous thing, a work in progress. Starting from capsule 12 we've said a lot of things and to most they are counter culture. For instance one of my readers was shocked to find out what it means to walk in the spirit or to be spiritually minded. For the first time he spent time considering the scriptures and with help of the Holy Spirit , he came to the same conclusion. The resultant effect of this is that he is free from the manipulation of man (John 8:31-32). People have unknowingly or knowingly complicated things when the bible did not intend it to be so. Just a word on that, as you are guided by the word or walk in the spirit, consequently you become sensitive to things spiritual (Hebrews 5:14).

As we continue, keep in mind these three words 'GUARD, WALK and RENEW'. GUARD your heart, WALK in the spirit, RENEW your mind. That is the summary of our discussion so far. Let's continue, the second part of our index scripture says

'.....but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God'

The word transformed, means changed, or metamorphosized. The picture example is this, a (ugly, undesirable) caterpillar transforms to a (beautiful, highly sort after) butterfly.
In fact one does not bear resemblance to the other, yet they are one and the same organism. When you become 'born again' you are like the caterpillar, whether you become a butterfly depends on you. Genetically the caterpillar is the exact replica of the butterfly, molecule for molecule, DNA for DNA, but one is immature the other is mature, one is vulnerable the other can fly away from danger.

Secondly, transformation by renewing your mind is in stages, caterpillar to pupa and then butterfly. Lastly, it says by doing this you prove what is the good, and acceptable and perfect will of God. The word prove means to make manifest to your senses, to bring to physical reality the will of God. It also presupposes that you know the will of God!

Let me show you how this goes, 3John 2 tells you that the will of God above all things is for you to be in health and prosper as your soul prospers. The way you prove this or make it manifest to your physical senses or bring it to physical manifestation is by RENEWING YOUR MIND!!! It is virtually impossible to renew your mind if you are not certain of the will of God. That is why we spent the first 7 capsules establishing the fact that it is always God's will that you walk in good health, He will never refuse to heal you and would not put sickness or disease on you.

In the next capsule, we will get into the workings of how to renew your mind, It is simple but not easy. We would continue with this scholarly approach so that you can grasp the basics and your freedom can be total, that is my sole desire (Ephesians 4:12-14). Remember the spiritual can and should be taught.

CONCLUSION
GUARD, WALK AND RENEW, SO THAT YOU MIGHT PROVE OR MAKE MANIFEST THE WILL OF GOD.

GOD'S PILL 2015: CAPSULE 15

RENEW YOUR MIND

And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. (‭Romans‬ ‭12‬:‭2‬ KJV)

In the last 3 capsules we have been dealing with the central position of your thought life in divine health and healing. The whole intention is to train us to become creatures of thought and not instinct, this takes time. Most people have (including Christians ) lived all their lives by what they feel and not by what is real (spiritually). And until we are taught, this will remain the default, you can only participate successfully in life only when you have a reasonable understanding and control of your thought life. The whole purpose of God's Pill is to demystify (Mark 4:11,13), and in the process change your mindset from the default to the intentional. Don't just participate in what you don't understand, you are not design to be a 'follow, follow'.

Now that we have established the importance of our thoughts in all things that pertain to life and godliness we need to go to the next step. Romans 12:2 will be our text. When you become 'born again' it is your spirit that changed or got redeemed (2Cor.5:17, 1Cor. 2:9-16). Your soul and body remain the same. However all the power of God gets deposited in your spirit. If this is to be of benefit, it has to flow out through your mind (soul) into the physical world. This will only happen if your mind is in agreement with your spirit (Romans 8:6,11) otherwise it will remain shut up and you will walk like mere men.

So how do you get your mind to fall in line with your spirit or how do you get your thought life to keep up with your spirit or better still HOW DO YOU WALK IN THE SPIRIT? Good question, the answer is Romans 12:2. You have either of two choices, to conform or transform. The default state is to conform, that is, fall in line with the rest of the crowd, experience what the rest of the world is experiencing despite the fact that you have the same power that raised Christ from the dead resident and available in you spirit (Ephesians 1:16-20). Conforming requires nothing from you, it's the natural vegetative state, it means you think like the rest of the human race think despite the fact that you are a NEW CREATURE (2Corinthians 5:17). It means you walk in the flesh even though the real you is a spirit. Your mind remains the same, and go no further, the rest of that verse can never be a reality. To conform means your mind is driven only by the knowledge provided by the physical world (that is secular knowledge).

To conform means your mind is poured into the mould of worldly knowledge and at best what you end up with is worldly wisdom. As good as this is it would not be able to deal with spiritual matters like divine healing, freedom from the effects of sin and demonic oppression or true prosperity for that matter. I hope you are getting the picture of what it means to conform?

CONCLUSION
BE A NON CONFORMIST, RENEW YOUR MIND

GOD'S PILL 2015: CAPSULE 14

WALKING IN THE SPIRIT

This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. (‭Galatians‬ ‭5‬:‭16‬ KJV)

Let's carry on from where we left off. I promised to attend to the commonly asked question 'what does it mean to be spiritually minded or walk in the spirit?'. But before we do that, consider Galatians 5:16, it says if you walk in the spirit, you will not fulfil the lust of the flesh. That is to say both are mutually exclusive, they don't mix, it's either one or the other. They are direct opposites. A better way of putting it, is what Christ said to Nicodemus in John 3:6 'That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit'

Please pay close attention to the dynamics in Galatians 5:16, when you want to overcome the flesh or prevent the flesh dominating your thought, you should walk in the spirit. Let me put it another way, the way you overcome darkness is to shine light or walk in light. In the physical when you enter a dark room , you don't try to get rid of the darkness by shovelling it out. What you do is put on the light and the darkness will disappear. For instance in Genesis chapter one when God wanted to get rid of the darkness, He ordered light in. The way to overcome the flesh is not by struggling with it. You do not walk in the spirit by refusing to walk in the flesh. This is a simple but fundamental principle that you need to grasp if you are to succeed in walking in the spirit so that you don't fulfil the lust of the flesh. With this in mind, let's look at what it means to walk in the spirit.

It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life. (‭John‬ ‭6‬:‭63‬ KJV)

To walk in the spirit simply means to be guided by the word of God. See the above statement from Christ. Let's break it into two parts . The first part simply explains the consequence of walking in the spirit or flesh ( see parallel statement Romans 8:6), the second part then defines or describes the spirit...... that is the WORD. The word of God is the mirror of the spirit or spiritual world (James 1:22-25). You cannot see the spiritual world with your naked eye but you can focus on it and navigate it with your mind through the word of God. When your thoughts are guided by the word of God, you are automatically walking in the spirit and not in the flesh and this produces life and peace (Romans 8:6, James 1:25, Galatians 5:16). This principle is crucial and central in all things spiritual. You see your life moves in the direction of your dominant thought whether you like it or not.

My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh. (‭Proverbs‬ ‭4‬:‭20-22‬ KJV)

The above is a simple demonstration of walking in the spirit to achieve good health, this can be applied to every aspect of your life, health, wealth, freedom from sin and demonic oppression .

CONCLUSION
DON'T STRUGGLE WITH THE FLESH FOCUS YOUR THOUGHTS ON THE SPIRIT
