And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. (‭Romans‬ ‭12‬:‭2‬ KJV)

In the last capsule we considered the process of renewing our minds and the consequence, to reiterate it is to make manifest or bring to physical reality the will of God. For instance Ephesians 1:3, says 'we are blessed with all spiritual blessing in heavenly places.....' So in reality a Christian really does not need to pray to be blessed because he or she is already blessed with ALL spiritual blessings. But we live in a physical world! The way to then make these blessings (which are spiritual) manifest in the physical world is by renewing your mind. So really what you need to invest your time and energy on is renewing your mind (2Peter1:2-4, 2Tim.3:16-17, 2Tim.2:15). So how do you renew your mind I hear you say? I'm glad you asked.

This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success. (‭Joshua‬ ‭1‬:‭8‬ KJV)

You renew your mind by MEDITATING on the word of God at every available opportunity (that is day and night). To meditate means to study, consider, imagine, mutter and ponder. It means each of these and all of them together. Remember , the word of God is a perfect reflection of the spiritual world, so if you are going to walk in the spirit you will have to be guided by it. So as you study, consider, imagine mutter and ponder on it, things spiritual become real to you because you've been there so to say. As you do this your mind creates a bridge for the spiritual to flow to the physical. Look at Joshua 1:8, it says as you meditate on the word of God your life will align or adjust or reflect it in the physical (my paraphrase).

Another way of explaining it is this, the word of God is a spiritual SEED, meditation helps to plant and nurture it in your mind so that the physical fruit manifest in your life (Psalm 1:2-3, Mark 4:26-29). This is so fundamental that you cannot circumvent it. You cannot believe what you have not meditated on and your confession will only be meaningful or productive or yield results if you believe what you are saying. Christian confession have given a bad name because of inappropriate use. I see people repeat a scripture over and over, expecting something to happen. When it fails to materialise they then reach the conclusion that the word does not work. Romans 10:9 says 'For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation '.

Confession is important , it forms a part of meditation, but only a part. It is only effective when you are confessing what you already believe . You see what you are confessing already exist in the spiritual world, you are not confessing to make it so, it is already so. But it needs to have been planted in your mind from your spirit if you are going to be able to harvest it with your lips. The process by which it moves from your spirit and take root in your mind or RENEW YOUR MIND is MEDITATION. Meditation is the cure for double mindedness (James 1:6-8). Like I said in the previous capsule, the process is simple but it is not an easy fix.
