“Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.”
Colossians 2:8 KJV

There is much to say, but very little time and space. I believe you have had a glorious year and a wonderful Christmas celebration, praise God for that. I believe whoever you are, your best days are ahead of you. This is the last capsule of this series let us make it count. I know that most of the things we discuss are counterculture and at times challenge the popular thought process, I have been there too. If you are to be the person God has made you to be, you must never, never allow your personal convictions, feelings and sentiments to get in the way of the Word of God. Remember that the primary strategy of the devil is to prevent you from being saved and now that you are saved, he will do everything possible to make you ineffective using the Tradition of men and Vain (empty) Philosophy (Mark 7:13, Colossians 2:8, Galatians 1:14)

In the last capsule, I showed you that wrong tradition or tradition of men is designed to neutralise the Word of God, both the Authority and the Power. It corrupts the Word such that it does not manifest (make visible to the senses) the power it contains. In this capsule we are going to consider the second part of the equation, VAIN PHILOSOPHY. Colossians 2:8 in part gives a strong warning, 'be careful don't allow anyone to SPOIL you through VAIN PHILOSOPHY.....' The word translated spoil is also translated cheat and capture in some other versions. That is, Vain Philosophy can spoil, cheat or capture you. The word philosophy literally means a way of thinking or to be in love with ones thought or a body of ideas. If you add the word vain, it suggest a way of thinking void or empty of the truth. Unlike tradition of men that is directed at the Word, Vain Philosophy is directed at the person, it captures, spoils or cheat you. In other words it renders you not fit for purpose, because it renders your thinking twisted and warped, remember as a man thinks, so is he (Proverbs 23:7a). It makes it difficult for you to differentiate good from bad, 'everything goes' (Isaiah 5:20).

“For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened. Professing to be wise, they became fools,”
Romans 1:20-22 NKJV

The question is what is VAIN PHILOSOPHY? I will suggest you take time to study Romans 1:20-22 and Ephesians 4:17-20. Before we do that, I will like to make an observation that you might consider controversial but I implore you to give it some thought. The unbridled constant access of information through the TV, internet, radio and such, have done untold damage to the modern way of thinking. We accept anything presented through the media as true without challenging it. This constant diet of falsehood in turn forms the basis on which many set their standards. Many pride themselves as being current on the latest News without sanitising it through the filter of the Word of God. Proverbs 4:23, 'Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life'. If you allow all the sewage of the world in, you will end up SPOILT by VAIN PHILOSOPHY. You need to be discerning, because the internet or the 6 O'clock says it does not mean it is true! Because the Government says it is acceptable or the latest population feedback or research say it is agreeable does not make it so. Remember you are an Ambassador for Christ, you are not part of the natives and you are not meant to think like them (Romans 12:1-2).

In summary Romans 1:20-22 and Ephesians 4:17-20 says, anytime you allow a thought process that does not glorify God, (that is put the highest value on the Word of God), your thinking process becomes futile, empty or vain and your heart becomes foolish and darkened. When something is darkened, it cannot emit light, In other words it makes you unfit for purpose. I implore you to develop a spiritual filter that comes with Word of God. As we end this capsule, I will like to make a observation that will help you understand the damage Vain Philosopy can cause. The set of Christians that I find ordinarily the most difficult to minister divine healing to, are those with some form of medical training (Doctors, Nurses etc). This resistance I have come to realise, is as a result of what we have been discussing. It is subtle, but potent and unrelenting. I wish you a glorious 2017, better and bigger things in Christ JESUS. Remember you are an Ambassador for Christ, you have the Name and the Word, the Authority and the Power. You don't have to know everything, just the knowledge of the TRUTH.

I really want to express my gratitude to each and everyone of you for your encouragement, we are just starting, the best is yet to come. To my partners, thank you for your tolerance, patience and generosity. To God, I give all the glory

“Making the word of God of none effect through your tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things do ye.” Mark 7:13 KJV

In the last two capsules of this series, we would consider what I call THE TRADITIONS OF MEN. For you to get any lasting benefit from this series you need to pay close attention to and ponder seriously on these two capsules. I started this series by showing you that God wants us SAVED and come to the knowledge of the TRUTH. We subsequently considered the TRUTH as the person of the Resurrected Christ, the NAME and the WORD. These are life changing truths, but as I have often said, it is not what you do with these truths today or tomorrow that matters, but that they become a living concept, an integral part of your daily life not just a short time excitement, you have to know them in your 'knower'. These last two capsules are designed to do just that, to give stability to your Christian experience (Ephesians 4:14).

As a background to what we are about to discuss, let me say this, the first and primary strategy of the Devil is to do everything possible to keep you from being Saved. If this fails he will do everything possible to render you ineffective as a Christian, using wiles, cunningness and all sorts of diversionary tactics. Probably one of the most potent but subtle is what I have titled the TRADITIONS OF MEN, subdivision

Traditions of Men
Vain philosophy

(These subdivision is not perfect. I am using it because it is convenient and serves the practical purpose in this discussion).
In Mark 7:13, Christ made a profound statement, He told the religious leader of His days, that through 'their traditions they have rendered the Word of God ineffective '. Note that He said the Word, not words. Remember in capsule 47 we found out that this is the foundational expression of the person of Christ, the second person of the God Head (John 1:1-3, 14). What this means is that wrong tradition has within itself the ability to neutralise the manifestation of the power of God (strong statement!). Anytime a tradition runs counter to the Word it stops the manifestation of the power of God. This was the greatest hindrance with the Pharisees in the time of the earthly walk of Christ and sad to say, nothing has changed. There is still a subtle but unrelenting campaign against the Word even within the Church. These are in different guises, strange terminology, emphasis on fear and works, instead of love and faith, and many other things (2 Corinthians 11:1-4).

“And no man putteth new wine into old bottles; else the new wine will burst the bottles, and be spilled, and the bottles shall perish. But new wine must be put into new bottles; and both are preserved.” Luke 5:37-38 KJV

You might wonder why this is so, how can tradition neutralise the Word of God? In Luke 5:37-38, Christ explains and this parable shows why. A typical example is the attempt to bring Old Covenant practices into the New Covenant as epitomised in the parable of the New Wine in the Old Wine bottle, the wine is spilled, leading to waste. When you do that, in essence you are are saying the sacrifice of Christ to usher in the New Covenant is imperfect and incomplete, it needs something extra. This stifles the power in the Word, because nothing can be added to what He did. See verse 39, the appetite to draw back into the Old is always so strong. The books of Romans, Galatians and Hebrews were written to cure this. Wrong tradition is designed to counter the Word and even though you are SAVED, it does its very best to neutralise the Word that would manifest the power of God.

“O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you?” Galatians 3:1 KJV

As we close, tradition of men works like sorcery or demonic control. The Galatians in Paul's time, despite the fact that they have seen the power of God demonstrated in the Word, when left to their own devices, without guidance they reverted back to tradition. This was so frustrating to Paul that he described this act as foolishness and concluded that they must be under some form of spell or demonic control and cursed who ever is advocating such (Galatians 3:1-4, Galatians 1:6-9). That is what wrong tradition or tradition of men will do, it attacks the Word and renders it not fit for purpose. As AMBASSADORS for Christ you MUST put New Wine in New Wine bottle. ALWAYS remind yourself that you are an AMBASSADOR, don't imbibe the tradition of the natives otherwise you will ignore the power in the Word and would end up like them.

We have discussed the effect of wrong tradition or TRADITIONS OF MEN on the Word, in the next capsule we would look at what VAIN PHILOSOPHY does.
In the name of the Lord and the power of His Word, all of us at MinDGyM wish you a wonderful Christmas . Don't forget to link this to your social media sites.

“For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”
Hebrews 4:12 KJV

We have discussed so much in this series, there is no way a quick recap will do justice to it. I implore you to go over from the beginning, it is life changing.
In the last capsule I showed the significance of coupling the Name to the Word, meaning Authority and Power. Authority is only effective if backed up by Power, and Power is only useful if you have Authority to deploy it. It is so important that we appreciate this, for instance Angels have tremendous power, but they do not have the Authority to deploy it. They are messengers not AMBASSADORS (huge difference) Hebrews 1:14. It is only the redeemed man (aka born again, those in Christ, the New Creation) that has delegated Authority and Power because we are AMBASSADORS for Christ. In capsule 47, we considered the nature of the Word (please refer to the five conclusions listed).

Now let's look at the workings of the Word (always keep in view that this is the very essence of God, everything God has to offer). Hebrews 4:12 paints the picture and I would like you to use your imagination to put these elements together;

1. Quick and Powerful
2. Sharp and Piercing, meaning effective
3. Accurate and precise, meaning efficient
4. Able to discern and separate both the spiritual and physical, even thoughts/motive behind actions.

I know this is beyond imagination, but bear with me. On top of all these, verse 13, says everything is exposed and vulnerable to its actions. Selah!

So as AMBASSADORS for Christ, the Authority we have in His Name is backed by the Power of the Word as described above. Now as an Ambassador, you have to know and believe in the Authority and Power imbued in you otherwise it is of no use. That is the whole message of 1Timothy 2:4, God wants you SAVED and come to the knowledge of the TRUTH. We are representing the Most important Person that ever walked on the earth, the Resurrected Christ! This is what gives us the confidence to walk into the throne of Grace in His Name and with the Word and expect a positive response from the Father (Hebrews 4:16, John 16:24). The Authority and Power stops every manifestation of hell (Mark 16:17-18). With this Name and Word, men are translated from darkness to light, they are reconciled to God (2 Corinthians 5:18-20). The Name and the Word are both perfect. The reason we don't get perfect results is because we have limited knowledge and understanding of what we have, we are limited by our Word content (Ephesians 1:17-23, Ephesians 3:20).

“Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.” Proverbs 18:21 KJV

“And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.” Matthew 16:19 KJV

In rounding up, I would like you to take cognisance of the two scriptures above, Proverbs 18:21 and Matthew 16:19.
In Matthew 16:17, The Incarnate Christ made a promise to the disciples that He will give them the KEYS of the Kingdom (note that this was a promise for the future, He had not yet Resurrected). These keys would enable them to replicate heaven here on earth by deciding what is disallowed and what is allowed. In other words, whatever happens to and around them will be by their consent. They can have heaven here on earth if they want. When He Resurrected, He delivered on that promise (He gave them the keys of the Kingdom ) that is the Authority that comes with His Name (Philippians 2:9-11) and Power in the Word (Romans 1:17). In other words they became His AMBASSADORS.

Now all we need to do, is what we see in Proverbs 18:21, use our tongue to administer death or life, bind or loose, disallow or allow. This is simple, as AMBASSADORS, we can curse, cast out or disallow any and every work of darkness from sickness and disease to poverty or demonic oppression. Correspondingly, we can loose or allow healing, prosperity, soundness of mind and every manifestation of light. The reason we struggle despite the fact that we are SAVED, is because we have neglected the second part of the equation which is 'the knowledge of the TRUTH'

In capsule 49, we will consider the 3rd facet of our discussion 'Tradition of Men'.

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.” John 1:1-3 KJV

1Timothy 2:4, God wants us SAVED and come to the knowledge of the TRUTH. In my postscript for Capsule 46, I stated that this is Christianity 101, correction, this is Christianity, period!
To help us come to the knowledge of the TRUTH, we considered the significance of the Name, the incomparable Authority it carries and that we are AMBASSADORS for that Name in the three spheres: Heaven, On Earth and under the Earth, that is the privilege. As with all privileges, there are responsibilities. In this, we have unfettered access to the Throne Room of grace (Hebrews 4:16), With this Name we reconcile men to God, translating them from the kingdom of darkness to light (2 Corinthians 5:20). When we decree in this Name we cast out devils and every manifestation of death (Mark 16:17-18).

In this capsule we would consider the knowledge of the the TRUTH, that is the person of the Resurrected Christ, from the angle of the Word (this is not an exhaustive study of the word, it is important that we remain in context and not get carried away). Let me try and lay down the premise to help keep our focus. In Luke 9:1, when Christ sent the twelve disciples out to preach the Kingdom, He gave them two things, POWER and AUTHORITY. The reason is simple, Authority is only effective if there is Power to back it up, Power is only useful if you have the Authority to deploy it. From our discussion so far, we know the Name signifies the Authority, we need to know the Power the Authority is coupled to.
The knowledge of the Resurrected Christ as the Word, 'for in Him dwells the fullness of God' that is, 'The Resurrected Christ carry in His person the complete agency of God permanently ' and we are AMBASSADORS for Christ (my paraphrase). Colossians 1:19, 2 Corinthians 5:20. Let us now consider the Word, the nature and the workings.

“And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.”
John 1:14 KJV

It is important that we understand the nature of the Word. John 1:1-3, 14, unveils the WORD as the very essence of God, even before His manifestation as the Son or the Resurrected Christ. The totality of God is expressed in the Word, that is the full expression of everything that God is. Every other expression is a shadow or type. What this means is that a revealed knowledge of the Word should be the ultimate desire . You cannot be more spiritual than your Word content (those who try to be spiritual outside the word end in error, this is the root of the deception in white garment churches and those that practice spiritism). I know this might be difficult for some to swallow, so I will spend time to validate it. In Psalm 138:2, God Himself magnified His Word above His Name (please consider all we have discussed about the Authority in the name of Jesus Christ, then check out the dictionary meaning of magnify and above). With this in mind, Christ speaking, John 4:24, 'God is a Spirit', John 6:63, ' The words that I speak they are spirit and they are life'. Even to the uneducated but honest mind, there is only one conclusion, God manifest Himself (that is makes Himself visible to the five senses) through His Word.(John 1:1-3, 14).

For the purpose of our discussion and from all the above it is important to list a few conclusions about the Nature of the Word

The Word is unchanging or immutable or perfect. It cannot be improved on, it is constant , it does not mutate. Isaiah 40:8
The Word is the power of God, or No Word of God is without power. Luke 1:37, Romans 1:17
The Word of God is eternal, that is, it transcends time and space, but works through time. Psalm 119:89
The Word is Spirit, it carries the signature and DNA of God. That is, God does not do anything outside the Word John 6:63
The Word is a Seed. 1 Peter 1:23

As we round up this capsule please keep these conclusions (of the nature of the Word ) in mind, they are vital to our discussion and understanding of the workings of the Word. In the next capsule we would look at what happens when the Word is deployed through the Name. This would simplify yet make your life and actions more meaningful, it will purify your spiritual language. Just the Name and the Word, the Authority and the Power, that is all you need, because we are AMBASSADORS for Christ.

Ps- The reason we teach is so that we can with words, describe and make visible what is not visible. Providing a vivid image of the unseen. (We would expand on this in the next capsule).

“Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” Philippians 2:9-11 KJV

1Timothy 2:4, makes it clear that God wants us SAVED and come to the knowledge of the Truth. In this series, we have found out that the Resurrected Christ is the Truth personified. A study of this through His name revealed that the Name carries absolute Authority in Heaven, on Earth and under the Earth (Philippians 2:9-11). This authority in all its ramifications has been delegated to us, making us AMBASSADORS for Christ (2 Corinthians 5:20). This is an unprecedented, unparalleled Privilege, but with it comes incomparable Responsibilities! Always keep in mind that, when you speak or act through that Name, in the spiritual, it is Christ that is seen not the individual (Galatians 2:20), this reality must be a living concept. Let's have a quick tour through the three spheres.

“And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you. Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.”John 16:23-24 KJV

The night before His crucifixion, Christ introduced a completely new concept in prayer to His disciples. No longer would they have to approach God through their individual merit which is flawed, but by and through His name. This was a complete shift in paradigm, a huge wrinkle in their thought process. At best they have couched their works with the names of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Now it was time to junk this pathetic ineffective approach and come boldly to the throne of grace in the Name of the Risen Lord Jesus Christ. Not only that, they should expect God to respond positively 'whatsoever' they requested (please refer to capsule 36, 2016), just like He responded to Christ during His earthly walk. Up till then nobody had this privilege, this was to become the new and living way to approach God the Father. They were no longer beggars, now they access through Christ (Hebrews 10:19-20).
Why? Because God has given Him a name above all names and we are AMBASSADORS for that name. (Please bear with me, this is mind bending, I am having to condense a lot of things).

“Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.” Acts 4:12 KJV

Acts 4:12, says there is no other name under heaven that guarantees salvation. This is pretty self explanatory, in fact it is a no brainier. Romans 10:9 (my paraphrase) says if you will confess Jesus Christ as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. You acknowledge with your mouth the commitment in your heart. Christianity is the only faith body that has a saviour, the reason for this is simple, God gave Christ a name that is above All on the earth and we are AMBASSADORS for that name. So that through that Name we can reconcile men to God through the birth in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:19). People who are dead in spirit, come alive and are reconnected to connect through justification by that Name (Ephesians 2:1-5).

“And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;” Mark 16:17 KJV

Colossians 2:15 paints a vivid picture of the sorry state of Satan and his cohorts: Conquered, defeated and paraded openly. What he has left are lies and deceit. Over and over the defeat of Satan is repeated throughout the Gospel. Hebrews 2:14-15, Christ assumed the form of man so that He can through death destroy Satan through his own weapon, death. Verse 15, by so doing, Christ released us from the fear and bondage of death. Knowing this, any demonic operation, both direct and indirect, from sickness/disease, to frank demonic possession is based on deception and at the name of Christ loses its grip because He, God the Father has given Him a Name above ALL names in heaven, on earth (that is among men) and under the earth (that is over Satan and his works). This might shock you but it is the absolute truth, every or any work of darkness in your life exist because you allow it (directly or indirectly). Nothing can stand against the Name of Jesus deployed from a believing heart (Mark 16:17-18)

This Name gives us access to the Throne Room, with this Name we reconcile men to God, translating them from the kingdom of darkness to light. When we decree in this Name we cast out devils and every manifestation of death.

I promised you this series would challenge you, I hope it's doing just that. This is Christianity 101, the basics. We would consider the next.

“Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” Philippians2:9-11 KJV

Amen! Thanks to all for the wonderful feedback's on the first two capsules of this series. As previously stated, what we are discussing is one of the very first thing the Lord showed me, that it was not only enough to be SAVED but that I need to come to the knowledge of the TRUTH. This is what is lacking, it is the difference maker, between those who are SAVED and FREE, as opposed to SAVED and STUCK. To come to the knowledge of the TRUTH in essence means coming to know who Christ is intimately. Always keep in mind that salvation, as far as our walk here on earth is concerned, has four components inclusive: Freedom from SIN, Freedom from demonic oppression, Freedom from sickness/diseases, and Freedom from material lack. As you walk in the knowledge of the truth, use these four as guide or measuring stick here on earth. Taking a closer look at the TRUTH (that is Jesus Christ), in the context of God's Pill, I would first like us to consider the NAME, the significance.

Before we delve into it, I would like to unravel a mystery which very few pay attention to. When you study the Gospel writings of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, these are the eye witness accounts of the Incarnate Jesus Christ. The Acts of the Apostles and the Epistles unveil the Resurrected Lord. The incarnate Christ showed the humanity of God through Jesus, but in His Resurrected form He became the Giver of LIFE (John 10:10b, 1John 5:11-12). Until His death, burial and resurrection nobody could be born again, this was the miracle of the New Creation. The Incarnate Christ was the Lamb of God that took away the SIN of the world, The Resurrected Christ is the Risen Lord, the Head of the Church, First born from the dead, the Last Adam (1 Corinthians 15:45). This is not a cosmetic distinction, in fact this is the heart and epicentre of New Creation realities. The Pauline epistles were expressly written to bring this revelation to the Church.

After His resurrection in Matthew 28:18, Christ told the disciples that 'ALL authority in heaven and on earth has been given onto Him'. This was based on the fact that He had paid the price for SIN, ENDED THE OLD COVENANT AND USHERED IN THE NEW COVENANT, in other words He had fulfilled the scriptures (Luke 24:25). This authority grants Him preeminence. The first Adam had dominion (authority) only on the Earth (Genesis 1:28). The last Adam, the Resurrected Lord have absolute Authority in the three spheres: heaven, earth and under the earth. God the Father exalted His Name above all names. Meaning that in Adam we lost one thing, but in Christ we gained three. The significance of this is the fact that this Name is acknowledged by the bowing of every knee and confession of His Lordship in the three spheres, this is total and absolute authority. Everything respond in awe and reverence to the Authority endowed in this NAME.

“Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God.” 2 Corinthians 5:20 KJV

Remember that Christ (The Word) has always been God, the whole purpose of His manifestation in human form was to deliver man from the bondage of the fall. He laid aside His deity for this singular purpose, that He might gain back for us what was lost and hand it back to us. This Name with all the Authority it connotes, He delegated to us before His ascension . Paul describes it as being AMBASSADORS for Christ, the Resurrected Lord, that is we are acting in His stead. The implication is two fold

1. For the born again, that is those 'IN CHRIST', in the spiritual realms , it is Christ that is seen not the individual, 'Therefore if any man be IN CHRIST ....' (2 Corinthians 5:15, Galatians 2:20)

2. Secondly, you carry the Authority that comes with that Name in heaven, on earth and underneath the earth

Ps - In the next capsule we would take this further and consider the practical applications of what we have learned so far, Why we end our prayers with the name and what happens when we issue a decree or make a declaration in that name.

“And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:” Ephesians 4:11-13 KJV

In the last capsule we established a few things which are vital, firstly, God wants us SAVED and come to the knowledge of the TRUTH. Both must go hand in hand (1 Timothy 2:4). Secondly, it's only when you come to a revealed intimate knowledge of the TRUTH that you start experiencing the FREEDOM that comes with salvation (John 8:32). Lastly, the TRUTH is actually the person of the risen Lord, Jesus Christ (John 8:36). I promised you that I will validate this further in this capsule. However before we go any further, I want to sound a note of warning, this series will challenge and make you think, but for those who are ready, the change you will experience will not be quantifiable. (This is going to be a relatively large capsule because I would like to conclude the trend of thought).

“Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way? Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” John 14:6 KJV

The night before His crucifixion, Christ made the staggering statement that put paid to any further argument, it consigns every other 'religion or belief system' into the rubbish bin of deception, John 14:6. He not only confirmed that He is the The TRUTH, He told the disciples that He is also The Way and also The Life. (Note that He didn't say He is a way, a truth or a life ). So when you fully understand Christ as the Way, you can never get lost, when you understand Him as the Life, Satan or the world system cannot kill you. More importantly a revealed intimate knowledge of the person of Christ as The TRUTH means you cannot be DECEIVED, it is virtually impossible! A significant majority in church are SAVED but are held captive by deception of the devil because they have not come to the knowledge of the Truth, that is- Christ the risen Lord. The church of Christ, the New Testament church is charged with only two responsibilities (I pray you receive this)

To get men SAVED by the preaching of the Gospel (1 Corinthians 1:21)
To bring those who are SAVED to the knowledge of the TRUTH

The first is the external mission of the Church, the second is the internal, that is, revealing the person of Christ. This is the primary reason the five fold ministries were set up.

“Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men. (Now that he ascended, what is it but that he also descended first into the lower parts of the earth? He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things.) And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;”

Ephesians 4:8-11 KJV

The above scripture says after Christ rose from the dead, before He ascended, He gave the Church these five Ministry Offices: Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Pastors and Teachers. The question is for what purpose or why did He make this investment? I am glad you asked!

“For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:” Ephesians 4:12-13 KJV

Verses 12-13, answers the question; to bring the saints or those who are SAVED to maturity, and the measuring stick for maturity will be the extent of their knowledge of the Son of God, such that they match Him in stature in every aspect. In other words coming into the knowledge of the TRUTH! Once this happens, you are no longer prey to lies, deception or cunning craftiness or strange doctrines, meaning you are FREE (Ephesians 4:14, John 8:32, 36, 2 Timothy 3:16). This is so simple and yet so profound that only God could have designed it. The only weapon the devil has are lies and deceptions, nothing more. That is why God wants all men SAVED and come to the Knowledge of the TRUTH. This is not taught enough in churches, in fact most churches have substituted meaningless emotional rituals for the knowledge of the TRUTH.

Until you come to the knowledge of the TRUTH, you will suffer identity crisis and harbour secret inferiority complex. This is the reason why there is so much mediocrity and proliferation of nonsense within churches. Imagine how formidable the church would be, if the Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Pastors and Teachers bring the saints to a place of maturity, which is comparable to the measure of the stature of Christ through the KNOWLEDGE OF THE TRUTH! (we would look at this in depth some other time). In closing, let me simplify things, for the Church, (that is those that are SAVED), condemnation of Sin/sins, Demonic oppression, Sickness/diseases and Poverty are all products of deception and lies of the devil. Come into the knowledge of the TRUTH and you will be FREE!

“Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.”
1 Timothy 2:4-6 KJV

I would like us to wrap up this year just like we started, for want of a better title I have labelled this last series of 2016, THE NAME, THE WORD AND TRADITION OF MEN. As far as titles go, this one is not catchy but I would like you to pay close attention to the content. This is one of the things that the Lord showed me early in my Christian walk which I believe has been invaluable. It is my considered opinion that it will do the same for you no matter how long you have been a Christian. It acts as a measuring stick with which you will take stock but because majority do not have this compass they flounder and generally go with the flow, fad or fashion. For instance you can measure your salvation experience in the four cardinal areas that I have often referred to, mainly: Forgiveness of Sin/sins, Freedom from demonic oppression, Divine Health/Healing and Material prosperity .These four form the content of salvation here on earth and of course you have an assurance of heaven. These four gives you the parameters and if you properly understand this you will not be taken advantage of. With this been said, let us consider another means of measure that is often ignored.

“For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.” 1 Timothy 2:3-4 KJV

Paul in his letter to Timothy said God's desire is for all men to be SAVED and then. COME INTO THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE TRUTH. That is, when you confess Jesus Christ as your Lord and saviour, according to Romans chapter Ten, verses nine and ten, salvation is imparted to your spirit, you become born again, you are now in Christ. You are translated from darkness into the kingdom of Christ, your sin is forgiven, you are redeemed, sanctified and perfected forever (note the past tense). These and much more is what it means to be SAVED, it is instantaneous and happens in your spirit. This is not a prolonged process and most Christians to certain extent know that.

But that is not the end of the story, to really take advantage of this salvation, God says you must COME INTO THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE TRUTH! This is the part that is ignored or poorly understood. That is the reason why majority is SAVED BUT STUCK. You cannot substitute this second part with anything else, not even 'prayer'. The first part of salvation is instantaneous, but the second part is a life long process. This is what brings stability in your life and stops you from chasing shadows. Until you come into the knowledge of the truth, you are SAVED but not experiencing the FREEDOM. The hidden man of the heart will not have the opportunity to influence the Soul and the Body. This is the reason why some are SAVED, but still feel condemned, suffer demonic oppression, their body is racked by disease and suffer lack, in other words they are SAVED without any outward evidence.

“Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” John 8:31-32 KJV

Again in John 8:31-32, Christ reiterated the same theme, when you know the TRUTH, the TRUTH will birth Freedom. This is the reason why we see the vast majority in the church remain stunted and live a beggarly life. Until you come into the knowledge of the truth you will substitute emotions and empty actions. Let me turn this round, God wants every man SAVED and come to the knowledge of the truth, but it's the truth that YOU KNOW that will make YOU free. This is a spiritual Law. Take a look at John 8:32 again, the TRUTH is actually a person and that person is Christ. This is clarified in John 8:36, (remember that this was a continuation of the discussion Christ was having with the same people) “If the SON therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed". ( He replaced ' The Truth' with 'The Son', that is Himself) I hope you are grasping this ? 1 Timothy 2:4, John 8:32, John 8:36.

The Greek word translated knowledge in 1 Timothy 2:4, is the word 'epignosis' meaning precise and correct or revealed knowledge or revelation. The word 'know' in John 8:32, is the word 'ginosko' meaning to know something intimately. In other words God wants us SAVED and come to the revealed, intimate knowledge of the person of Christ. (All these might sound too scholarly, but I assure you they form the building blocks of our discussion).

In the next capsule I will like to show you further that the person of Christ is the Truth that is referred to and why knowing the Truth completes the salvation coin. This will launch your Christian experience and open you up for more.

       The Preamble
This is the TEMPERATURE and PULSE check for the last series: ANSWERS TO SOME NAGGING QUESTIONS. Everyone of us in our Christian life come to a point where our experience appear to challenge what we have in Christ, this is common to all, don't let anybody fool you (1 Peter 5:9). We then have one of three decisions to make, just one, it cannot be a combination, and that is where the difference is. The choices are whether to:-
- Live in quiet frustration, paying lip service to these truths like most people around you and settle for mediocrity (2 Timothy 3:5,7)
- Revert back to type, with a strange mix of old and New Covenant concoction (Luke 5:36-39)
Find out why things are not working the way they ought, without backing down from our position in Christ and making the necessary course corrections (Romans 3:4).

In the last nine capsules we have discussed some of the reasons why the promise in Matthew 7:7-8 and Luke 11:8-9 might have appeared too good to be true. As previously stated , there is no way I can be exhaustive, this forum is not designed for that and more importantly I don't know everything and cannot teach you everything I know even if I try, that is the function of the WORD and the HOLY SPIRIT. But I am persuaded that with what we have shared and discussed, if you put them to practice with pure motive and don't give up, when you Ask you will Receive, when you Seek you will Find, when you Knock it will be Opened with increasing frequency.
What we have discussed affects every aspect of the Christian life: Forgiveness of SIN/sins, Freedom from demonic oppression, Divine health/Healing and Material prosperity. In our discussions I have tried to make things as simple as possible, but these things only work when they become a living concept or habit. To assist with this, we have introduced the Booster dose and Slow-release capsules just to mix things up a bit and get you into the habit of thinking and asking WHY?. Here are some questions below to check your vital signs, please go through the nine capsules again before or after, it will be fun and get your juice flowing.

1. Give examples of other scriptures that validate Matthew 7:7-8 and Luke 11:8-9 (Capsule 34, 2016)
2. What would you consider the most important reason why individuals struggle to actualise Matthew 7:7-8 or what would you consider as the primary purpose of prayers.
3. Is there any difference between RECEIVING and HAVING ? If so what separates them ?

4. What makes the Epistle of James unique ?

5. How does PATIENCE work, and what is the result? (Capsules 37-39, 2016)
6. What is the difference between natural wisdom and wisdom in James chapter One (Capsule 42, 2016)

7. Why is it of vital importance to know what is promised in the New Covenant? (Capsule 36, 2016)
As we end this year, don't take your eyes off the prize, the next series will light your fire, expect great things.
If you find these capsules a blessing then you ought to share them, create a link to your social media sites (Facebook, Twitter etc). Also click ,like, tag etc. Above all, live the life that has been paid for.

“If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.”
James 1:5-6 KJV

There is nothing as satisfying as seeing your prayer answered. Let me rephrase that, 'there is nothing as satisfying as seeing your prayer answered and knowing that it was not just happenstance or coincidence!'. The difference between the two is huge, everybody sees their prayer answered once in a while. What we all want is to see things come to pass when we pray with increasing frequency and I can assure you that this is possible because God is no respecter of persons (Romans 2:11, Acts 10:34). As I study the word, the more obvious it is that we have complicated what God made simple, we have covered what God has revealed (Ephesians 1:9). The spiritual is governed by laws, nothing has changed, it is not emotional. The difference is finding out these laws and 'enforcing' them. I see this much more in the area of healing, we ask and beg God to heal us or somebody else, not knowing that all the healing power is already available in your spirit waiting to be released into your body (Romans 8:10-11). Let me illustrate this, I recently returned from my travels and met a part of my house in darkness despite the fact that I turned on the switch. I knew the problem was not with the power supply company because despite the darkness, I was sure that they have fulfilled their part of the equation. I also knew that the problem was in that part of the house. Once I identified the fuse and changed it, light came. I did not have to beg or plead with the power company, I dealt with my 'RECEIVER' and commanded the power to flow (by turning on the switch) ........HAVE! This analogy sounds simplistic but you need to grasp these basics otherwise you will struggle. In essence, God fulfilled His part of the deal 2000 years ago with the death, burial and resurrection of Christ. What we need to do is find out what is available and how to access it. I will show you in this capsule (This capsule is fairly long, but necessary).

To recap we are discussing reasons why Matthew 7:7-8, Luke 11:8-9, might be at variance with your experiences. I have titled it answers to that nagging question, so far we have considered five, I would like to end with this one to avoid making this series too long. Nobody can teach you everything they know and even if they did, that is not all that is there to know. In this capsule we would look at wisdom. Three things go together in this order, Knowledge, Understanding and WISDOM. Most people define wisdom as 'Right application of knowledge' but I think a better definition is 'Ability to profit from your knowledge'. Think about it, of what use is your knowledge and understanding if it does not lead to profitability? (2 Timothy 3:16-17). In the example I gave above, I knew that there was power in my house, I had a bit of understanding of how things work, but all that was theory until I profited from that knowledge and understanding.

In the study of the word there are four notable types of wisdom. The first is natural wisdom, this is freely available to all (1 Corinthians 1:17). Secondly, there is demonic wisdom, according to James 3:15, you really don't want that. Thirdly, there is 'word of wisdom', which is a gift of the Spirit (1 Corinthians 12:8). The fourth type which I would like to discus is 'Divine Wisdom'. (1Corinthians 2:6-7). Paul in his prayer for the Ephesians church, chapter 1:8,17, saw this as the key to unlocking the power of God that was already in them, similarly in Colossians 1:9. Despite the fact that God has revealed the mystery of His will we need this wisdom to unlock things because no two situations are ever the same. But the good news is that Christ in us is the perfect wisdom of God (1 Corinthians 1:30). Imagine it, you have the wisdom of the One who spoke the universe into being on the inside of you on tap.

Our index scripture says (my paraphrase), when you get to certain point in your asking and it appears you are not receiving, what you need is this divine wisdom. God has made this provision to overcome both seen and unseen obstacles. You need to make a demand on this wisdom and be single minded about it. It is not something you try to see whether it will work, it is something you do until you get an answer, period! James 1:7, says if you waver in your asking for this wisdom, you will not receive, it is that simple.

“For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries.”
1 Corinthians 14:2 KJV

But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory:” 1 Corinthians 2:7 KJV

The question I get asked often is how do you draw on this wisdom? Consider the above scriptures. Scripture A: When you pray in unknown tongue, you are speaking to God directly, spirit to Spirit. In other words you are speaking mysteries.
Scripture B :These mysteries are actually the hidden wisdom of God reserved for us from the very beginning. In other words when you pray in unknown tongue, you are making a demand on the wisdom of God, similar to what happens when you are downloading on a computer (This is just one of the things that happens when you speak in an unknown tongue, there is much more). Your spirit is communicating with the Spirit of God, accessing all the wisdom required to overcome any hindrance so that when you ask, you receive, seek you find, knock it is open! What a great privilege. I am certain that this is what Paul described in Romans 8:25-27, "But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it. Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God."

My greatest joy is to see people learn the simplicity of the truth in God's word and see them walk free. We have been given so much, bought by the highest price; the sacrifice of Christ. Unfortunately, most have allowed this to be corrupted by tradition and unnecessary, meaningless, religious calisthenics (Colossians 2:8, 16-18). What we have shared needs to become living concepts, please go through the scriptural references, personalise them and see things change in your life. I pray you have learnt something from this series and it is settled in you that 'Ask and you shall receive, seek and you shall find, knock and it it shall be opened. For EVERYONE that ask, receives.......

The next capsule will be TEMPERATURE AND PULSE CHECK, for this series. “But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth. This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish. For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.”
James 3:14-16 KJV

I sincerely hope you are finding this teachings useful and usable, they have the potential to change your lives. In the last capsule, I made a statement that 'because something is good does not make it godly for you'. This seems to have caused some reaction amongst readers of MinDGyM, hence it deserves some more explanation. This is particularly important if you are to avoid 'wrong motive, wrong agenda'. Let's look at lessons from a familiar bible story. In Genesis 26, there was severe famine similar to what Abraham experienced in his time. This led to a wave of economic migration to Egypt. There are two sound and logical reasons for this migration. Unlike every other place then, the River Nile kept Egypt fertile, and moreover Isaac had the past experience of his father to fall back on. These were two great indicators that made Egypt a GOOD choice for many people, right? But guess what, it was not godly for Isaac, because God said no. I hope you get the picture? If he had gone, he probably would have survived the famine but miss out big time on what God had in store for him. The sad part is that, he would not have known what he missed. Remember Isaac operated under an inferior covenant, he didn't have the great benefit of the in dwelling of the Holy Spirit, yet he could hear God........enough said.

For those who are joining us for the first time, we are discussing 'Answers to that nagging question: Why am I not getting the results promised in Matthew 7:7-8, Luke 11:8-9'. So far we have dealt with 'Making the main thing the main thing', 'Don't ask for things outside the New Covenant provisions', 'Allow patience to perfect the work', and in the last capsule, we discussed the hindrance 'Wrong motive; Wrong agenda'. In this capsule let's consider the double-barrelled 'Envying and Strife'. This, in my estimation is the most difficult to correct, many people find it easy to justify strife (aka contention, selfish ambition) not knowing that it's a hindrance to receiving.

Our Index scripture is quite instructive, (paraphrased), James 3:14, says 'don't justify it when you have bitter envying and strife in your heart'. There is never any reason or excuse for bitter envying and strife, never! The way people justify it is to say ' I am only human, I can't help it!'. No you are not only human, one third of you, the real you has the same spiritual DNA as the resurrected Christ. Verse 15, says ' justifying bitter envying and strife is demonic or devil inspired'. Verse 16 tells you the reason why. Confusion and every evil work (that is all evil work) thrive where there is envying and strife.

This is similar to 'wrong motive, wrong agenda', but it is actually different. This is more destructive, in that once it takes root it's like a weed, getting rid of it is never easy. Secondly, it is found in the leadership and among the gifted (Philippians 1:15-16, 2:3). It is sometimes called ruthless aggression or ambition. There are so many reasons why this is a hindrance to asking and receiving, seeking and finding, knocking with the door open. Most of the reasons are probably obvious but I think the reason for this is most times misunderstood.

This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish.
James 3:15

Take time to consider the above scripture that explains the source or inspiration behind this hindrance, It then becomes obvious why. But let me show you the logic (please pay close attention). When James 3:15 is in operation, it means you have ignored everything we have discussed from Capsule 34-40, 2016. Secondly, bitter envying and confusion have set in according to James 3:16. Now with this in mind, I want you to consider two key scriptures, James 1:17 and 1 Corinthians 14:33. Got it ?

I know I have made you think more than usual in this capsule, but that is the whole purpose of MinDGyM, to get you to think and not just react, to detox your mind. Please go through over and again until you can see it. In medical parlance, this is what we call a 'SLOW-RELEASE' capsule. In closing, I would like to make an observation that on the surface it appears controversial and I agree it is, but I also think it is true. This might be the reason why some Leaders and gifted people struggle with their health and at times meet with untimely death (Galatians 5:15).

There is much more to discuss, however we would look at one more hindrance in the next capsule and bring these series to a close.
I wish to express my gratitude to all those who help spread the word to a wider audience by linking the capsule to your social media sites, God is your reward.

“Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.” James 4:3 KJV

We have spent the last six capsules discussing: Answers to some nagging questions that would crop up because of the promise in Matthew 7:7-8, Luke 11:8-9. This promise is not limited to these two passages, in fact this is the norm throughout the scriptures, more so in the New Covenant. Despite this, virtually everybody I know (including yours truly) have experiences that on occasions run counter to what is promised. We know the word of God is true and has the power to deliver exactly what it says, so the question arises 'Why am I not getting the desired result as promised?'. We cannot wish this away and if not attended to, it could lead to frustration or worse still some lose faith and start "looking somewhere else" for succour. So far, we considered 'Making the main thing, the main thing', 'Don't ask for things outside the New Covenant provisions' and lastly, 'The perfect work of patience'. I hope most of the things discussed are now obvious and usable, we must never complicate what God has made simple (2 Corinthians 11:3)

In the beginning of this series, I pointed out the uniqueness of the Epistle general of James. The fourth reason that answers the nagging question is found in Chapter 4:3 which says, if you are asking with the sole purpose of satisfying your lust, then you are missing the point and will not receive or if you ask motivated by lust, you will not receive, simple! (my paraphrase).

Before we continue, I would like to point out that this letter was written to born again Christians, not unbelievers. If LUST as a motive invalidates your asking it makes sense to take a closer look. The Greek word translated as lust or pleasures here is the word 'hedone', it appears only five times in the New Testament, it is from the same word we get hedonism. Again, can I remind you that this admonition was written to Christians! As it was then so it is now.

“You ask [God for something] and do not receive it, because you ask with wrong motives [out of selfishness or with an unrighteous agenda], so that [when you get what you want] you may spend it on your [hedonistic] desires.” James 4:3 AMP

Let's consider why this is a hindrance to Asking and Receiving. Lust here, means you consider self gratification as the superior goal, over and above all. It is more than just simple pleasure, it has become what you live for. This is the definition of carnality, meaning you are devoid of inputs from your born again spirit, you are not getting any guidance from the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 2:9-16). The implication of this is that you are operating under the same influence as people without God. This sounds so strong but it has subtly taken hold and put down root in churches. I can give different examples, but for confidentiality, I wouldn't. Because something appears good does not make it godly for you. We all to different degrees, don't make this mistake, the key is 'check what is the drive before you ask.' The bottom line is John 4:24, 'God is a Spirit, those that worship Him, MUST worship Him in spirit and truth' .

“Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.” Romans 8:7-8 KJV

James 4:1-2, gives the background to the conclusion why LUST as motive will hinder your receiving, it is self explanatory. If Hebrews 11:6 is the thesis for pleasing God, then Romans 8:7-8 is the perfect antithesis. If your asking does not lead to receiving, this is one area to consider. There is much more to say but let us close with these two thoughts.

Always check whether there is a witness in your spirit that this is the right thing for you (nobody can really teach you how to do this, you just have to learn to trust God) Romans 8:16, Proverbs 3:5-6, Psalms 37:4.

Secondly, let the peace of God be the umpire that rules your heart in this process. If your heart is disturbed, and you seem to lose your peace over the matter, it's a cautionary sign (Isaiah 32:17, Colossians 3:15, Philippians 4:6-7). With all these being said, the only way it works is if you make the main thing, the main thing.

“No man also seweth a piece of new cloth on an old garment: else the new piece that filled it up taketh away from the old, and the rent is made worse. And no man putteth new wine into old bottles: else the new wine doth burst the bottles, and the wine is spilled, and the bottles will be marred: but new wine must be put into new bottles.” ‭‭Mark‬ 2:21-22 ‭KJV‬‬

We are considering the third reason in answering that question 'Why am I not getting the results as promised in Matthew 7:7-8 and Luke 11:8-9'. The first two are 'Making the main thing, the main thing' and 'Don't ask for anything outside the New Covenant provisions'. We would conclude the third reason 'Allow Patience to perfect the work' in this capsule by making a practical application of some of the things we learnt about the work of PATIENCE, (This is a fairly long capsule, but it is worth it). Before we do, I would like to share a recent experience. I visited one of our MinDGyM partners who has had repeated health problems. Using the same principles that we have shared in God's Pills I prayed with him on the first two previous occasions and the health problems were resolved almost immediately. But this time around I decided to take a passive role. I wanted to find out why he couldn't get the same result on his own, so I asked him to pray while I listened. After listening to him pray, I could see immediately what the problem was. He was mixing the Old and New Covenant, he could not see the difference, he was confusing his own mind, in other words he was double minded (Unfortunately I see this very often, a very common problem). You cannot mix the two, the New Covenant does not compliment the Old Covenant, It is a more perfect replacement , the Old Covenant was temporary and no longer operative, it is dead and buried (Galatians 3:23-25, Hebrews 8:13.) I showed him this and he redirected his prayer. That same day the symptoms disappeared, the result of ultrasound done the next day came back clear (the results might not be as instantaneous as this all the time , but the principle is the same). He was thrilled, but the lessons here are:

1. God is no respecter of man.

2.The spiritual is governed by laws which can be taught.

3. You must transition from the Old to the NEW COVENANT, this must become a living concept. He did not need to fast, or use anointing oil, it was not a long prayer, probably lasted less than five minutes. What took time was the teaching and the willingness to learn. With all these being said, I was baffled how somebody who had followed all the capsules still had this distorted mindset. There is always a great attraction to revert to the Old Covenant. It is emotional satisfying but unproductive, it must be resisted, and nobody can do it for you (Luke 5:36-39). Now as promised let's consider the practical applications using a story from the Old Testament. I have chosen this story to demonstrate Matthew 7:7-8, and the difference between the Old and New Covenant saints

“Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.” - ‭‭1 Peter‬ ‭5:8-9‬ ‭KJV‬‬

In Daniel Chapter 9, starting from verse one, he decided to ask God why the captivity in Babylon was lasting longer than seventy years as prophesied by Jeremiah . While he was still praying in verse 23, Angel Gabriel showed up with the answer. The Angel confirmed that God gave the answers IMMEDIATELY Daniel asked, but the answer manifested that evening. This demonstrates 'Ask, God Gives, you Receive and then you Have', all within the same day! PATIENCE was hardly noticeable in this instance, just one day. In chapter 10, The same Daniel prayed again and fasted. On this occasion it took twenty one days before the manifestation of the answer, however in chapter 10 verse 12, the Angel confirmed that God gave the answer from the first day, just like He did in chapter 9. On this occasion from RECEIVING to HAVING lasted twenty one days (On this occasion WORK OF PATIENCE lasted 21 days). God was not the variable, He gave from the first day just like in chapter 9, and it was not NO or WAIT or MAYBE. So what happened? You will recall that I said most answers are lost between RECEIVING and HAVING. In other words the fact that you did not have the answer is no proof that God did not give, He is faithful (2 Corinthians1:20). In the case of Daniel, the delay was as a result of demonic hindrance which he was not aware of and even if he knew the reason for the delay, he could not do anything about it other than wait.

“Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” - ‭‭James‬ ‭4:7‬ ‭KJV‬‬

There are a lot of things we could learn from this story, however let us focus on three important points from the perspective of New Covenant. The first is that God has already GIVEN. This is of crucial importance because it removes the element of doubt. Yes, you could still ask but in reality He has released everything that we need for life and godliness through the death, burial, resurrection and atonement of Christ.

The second point is that, unlike Daniel, you have the advantage of finding out what is causing the delay when the answer is not forthcoming. Christ said the Holy Spirit will guide us into ALL truths and show us things to come. James 1:5, says if you lack wisdom, ask God, you don't need to be passive (Capsules 47-49, 2015 goes into greater detail of what to do). In the case of Daniel, he could do nothing but wait it out, but not so for us. Lastly, unlike Daniel we have power and authority over demonic influences in the name of Jesus. Here is a great truth, in fact it is a spiritual law 'Don't ask God to do for you, what He has given you power and authority to do'. This is so important, but often missed. It is so important that you understand these differences between the old and NEW COVENANT otherwise you will struggle. If God reveals to you demonic hindrance as the cause of delay, it is your responsibility to break it in the name of Jesus. This is particularly important when others are involved in the process (Satan will always look for the weakest link). We have tremendous privileges in Christ but they come with great responsibilities. You are the one to RESIST the devil, by commanding him to take his hand off, you do this based on the Authority and Power in the name of Jesus (Mark 11:22, James 4:7). I cannot over emphasise this. In closing this teaching, I have seen people take authority over 'Prince of Persia', the demonic influence in Daniel Chapter 10. Think about it for a moment, It was called Prince of Persia because of the geographical location, It is not of universal application, this ought to be obvious!

My prayer is that I have been able to communicate these truths with the intended simplicity. As we close on the third reason, if you would put to practice what we have learnt so far, I can guarantee you that increasingly, when you ask you will receive, if you seek you will find, when you knock, it will be opened in Jesus name, amen.

Again I would like to encourage you to link this with your social media sites, creation is waiting for the manifestation of the sons of God. Together we are more effective.

We would consider a few more reasons.

God's Pill Capsule 38

I would like to start by expressing my gratitude to those who have partnered with us in spreading the goodness of God by linking each capsule to your social media sites. The great testimonies and feedbacks we are getting is in part due to your efforts, God will not forget your labour of love.
Going against the grain of years of traditional and emotional teachings is never easy but the tide is changing, minds are being renewed! Don't be weary in doing good, for the reward will come if we remain true and consistent and not give up. (Galatians 6:9)

In this series, we are discussing answers to that nagging question that bugs all of us, 'Why am I not getting the results as promised in Matthew 7:7-8 and Luke 11:8-9?' So far we have considered two reasons (Making the main thing, the main thing' and 'Don't ask for anything outside the New Covenant provisions'). These are vital to improving your spiritual experience. We started on the third reason 'ALLOW PATIENCE TO PERFECT THE WORK'. I would suggest you go through all we have discussed so far, the thought process cannot be compartmentalised, they are joined up. The summary of the third reason so far is that, Patience when coupled with Faith makes you complete, entire, lacking nothing. From the last capsule it is obvious that this PATIENCE as described in the gospel is dynamic and enduring, quite different from the ordinary, so we need to know the source of this patience and how it works.

“Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.” Mark 11:24 KJV
Let's continue, Mark 11:24, the above passage is the conclusion to Mark 11:22-23, that is why it is prefixed with the word 'therefore'. It says 'what things so ever you desire when you pray, believe you RECEIVE them, (present) and you shall HAVE them' (future). (What we are about to discuss is of crucial importance so please pay very close attention), This, if properly understood is saying:-

1. Receiving is different from Having
2. Receiving precedes Having (Mark 11:24, Mark 16:18)
3. Receiving presupposes that It has already been Given (Matthew 7:7, 2Peter 1:2-3)

Let me simplify this: when you Ask, God gives, first you must Receive before you can Have. In the New Covenant, He has already GIVEN (2Peter 1:3-4, Ephesians 1:3, 1Corinthians 2:12), so in the actual sense we are dealing with the 'RECEIVING and HAVING'. RECEIVING is when you take ownership of whatever it is in its spiritual form. HAVING refers to the physical manifestation. To understand this you must remember always that, God is a Spirit, and you are a spirit (John 2:24, Hebrews 12:9). The answer is released in its spiritual form that is why you Believe you have Received (that is taking ownership). The time space between this and Having is bridged by THE WORK OF PATIENCE (James 1:2-4, Hebrews 6:12, Hebrews 10:35-36, Luke 8:15). Between AMEN and THERE IT IS. That is where most of the battle is lost and won, except you understand what is required in Patience and how to put it to work. This patience is not idle, or indolent and it does not necessarily mean unproductive activities (It can be described as watchful waiting with action when necessary). To know what to do in different circumstances requires wisdom, hence the admonition in James 1:5. “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.” There is no one size fits all, you need absolute reliance on the Holy Spirit, that is why you need to make the main thing, the main thing. The question that is usually asked is 'how long do I have to wait? The answer is as long as it takes. Certain things of necessity demand time to mature, particularly where others are involved, a typical example is Ministry. For others the length of time is largely due to you! God has already given, but your receiving might be faulty or there is a hindrance to the manifestation. This could be as simple as a wrong mindset on your part or some form of demonic hindrance. Whatever might be the reason you will need the wisdom of God, this will give spiritual insight and what step is needed to move from RECEIVING to HAVING.

“For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.” Romans 15:4 KJV

As we close in this capsule, it is important to make clear that this PATIENCE (watchful waiting with necessary action) is bred and nurtured through the scriptures, nowhere else. In the next capsule we would look at an Old Covenant story that illustrates this and make a New Covenant application of how to shorten the time between AMEN and THERE IT IS, or RECEIVING and HAVING, that is, how the wisdom of God impacts PATIENCE. What we have discussed so far might sound technical and deep, but in actual fact it isn't. When you start putting it to practice, you will wonder why you never saw things this way before. I pray that your eyes of understanding will be enlightened in Jesus name, amen.

Don't forget God's Pill, smooth and small enough to swallow, easily digestible to release it's goodness. Strictly no side effects.

“And we desire that every one of you do shew the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end: That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.” Hebrews 6:11-12 KJV

In this series, we are discussing answers to that nagging question 'Why am I not getting the results as promised in Matthew 7:7-8 and Luke 11:8-9?' This is a legitimate question to ask and we have considered two of the reasons so far, 'Making the main thing the main thing', 'Don't make requests that are outside the New Covenant provision'. I will suggest that you go over these again because they are fundamental to a successful Christian life.

There is so much error being peddled even amongst Pentecostal/Charismatic settings and unfortunately it has gone on so long that those who are not rigorous have accepted such. As powerful as the gospel is, you can neutralise and make it of no effect through wrong tradition (Mark 7:13).
In the next two or more capsules we would consider PATIENCE. Again, I have come to realise that this needs to be properly understood to avoid frustration. However, before we go into the nitty gritty, I would like to recommend that you study the Epistle of James. This book defends the reputation of God in a clear and concise manner more than any other, it will help you get rid of confusion in so many areas, it brings so much clarity to the New Covenant understanding of the nature of God. God has not changed, He remains the same (Hebrews 13:8, Malachi 3:6), but the sacrifice of Christ brought a new relationship because we changed (2 Corinthians 5:17-21, Hebrews 7:12, Hebrews 10:14-20). I personally find the epistle of James exhilarating and liberating, it will make you examine yourself and your beliefs about God. At some point we would look at what it means to be double-minded.

“My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.” James 1:2-4 KJV
This passage above says a lot about what the bible calls patience. In life, temptations and trials will come your way whether you like it or not, this is inevitable because we live in a fallen world. In the natural course of things they (that is trials and temptations) are designed to shake your confidence, put fear into you and steal your joy. Once the devil can steal your joy, he will steal your goods because you will lack the strength or confidence to resist him (Nehemiah 8:10, Isaiah 12:3, Psalm 16:11).
James in the above passage, gives the antidote, hold onto your joy, don't let go, instead see these trials and temptations as an opportunity to put PATIENCE to work. James 1:13, shows the source of trials and temptations, contrary to what is commonly erroneously taught, it is not God (Matthew 13:21). This confusion about the source of trials, temptations, persecution etc is what has caused a lot of damage to the spiritual health of the gullible. When you put PATIENCE (as described in James 1:2-4, Hebrews 6:11-12) to work, it gives stability to your faith and protect you from being a casualty. If you do this the right way the result is that you become perfect, complete without any lack, similar to what is described in 2 Timothy 3:16. Before we end this capsule I will like to crystallise a few things

1. Trials and Temptations are inevitable, but they are not from God. They don't make you perfect or complete, In fact they are designed to attack you and destroy your confidence in the word of God.(Matthew 13:21, James 1:13)

2. Faith when coupled with PATIENCE is the antidote to Trials, Temptations, Afflictions, persecutions, etc (James 1:2-4).

3. PATIENCE is not passive or weak, it is strong and dynamic (Hebrews 6:12, James 1:2-4)

4. PATIENCE is the spiritual entity between 'receiving' and 'having' it. (I will explain in the next capsule)

In the next capsule we would take a closer look at PATIENCE, how to discern and deploy it. It's place in asking and receiving, seeking and finding, knocking and open.

Great things are happening, Lives are changing, I am thrilled by the testimonies that I have received since the beginning of this series, we are getting through, there is much more to come, I am excited, praise GOD!!! If this series does not light your fire, check your wood, it must be wet.

“For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.” 2 Corinthians 1:20 KJV

In the last capsule we discussed what I consider the most important reason in answering the nagging question 'Why am I not getting the results as promised in Matthew 7:7-8 and Luke 11:8-9?' This is a legitimate question which demands intelligent answers, not some philosophical explanation. The fundamental reason in my estimation is because majority have failed to understand the primary purpose of prayer, which is to fellowship with God. This is MAKING THE MAIN THING THE MAIN THING. I cannot over emphasise this, and in conclusion we touched on Matthew 6:33, “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you" which is often quoted by many but poorly understood in context. There are two kinds of 'RIGHTEOUSNESS', that based on the works of the LAW and that which is received by faith based on Grace.
The first is the one you are trying to earn by your efforts. But the RIGHTEOUSNESS being referred to here is the one imparted by God according to 2 Corinthians 5:21.

Matthew 6:33, is referring to the second one (note the phrase 'and His righteousness'). The implication is that once you are able to understand this Righteousness (that is your right standing with God through Christ) your expression of faith is no longer a struggle (Romans 1:17).

“For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who was preached among you by us, even by me and Silvanus and Timothy, was not yea and nay, but in him was yea. For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.”
‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭1:19-20‬ ‭KJV‬‬

The second reason in answering that nagging question is seen in 2 Corinthians 1:19-20 , the passage above. This passage is saying exactly the same thing as Matthew 7:7-8 and Luke 11:8-9, but clarifies it much more. Everything that God has provided in the redemptive work of Christ, comes with a guaranteed YES when you ask! You can only get what has been paid for by the death, burial and resurrection of Christ, nothing more, nothing less. Here is where the problem is, the vast majority do not know what has been promised in the New Covenant because they do not fellowship with God, all their interaction with God is limited to asking . Their prayer basically is a monologue of demands, not conversation, they have never enjoyed a father-son relationship with Him. They have based their understanding of God on what they see others do, not on the word.
Asking for things not promised in the New Covenant, apart from being wrong, is fraught with grave danger because the devil can take advantage of your ignorance and answer. The commonest example of this is when people ask for destruction of their 'enemy', there is no provision for this in the redemptive work of Christ. God will protect you from your 'enemies'.

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:” Ephesians 1:3KJV

Another scripture that helps to clarify this is Ephesians 1:3. You will note that when it refers to all spiritual blessings, it qualifies it as those in Christ. I tell colleagues and friends all the time that the bible is complete and it runs a commentary on itself, all you need is to apply a little bit of intelligence. 1 Corinthians 2:12, God gave us His Spirit so that we might know THE THINGS that have been freely given on to us by God (1 Corinthians 2:9-16 in context). You should not be asking for things that are outside of these provisions. The New Covenant takes care of everything that you need for life and godliness (2 Peter 1:3). So when Mark 11:24 says '“Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them'', the bible expect you to know that the 'what things so ever Ye desire' should be within the confines of the promises in the New Covenant.

As we close on this capsule I pray that things are becoming clearer to you, but this is not all, there is more to it and we would be considering a few of the answers to that nagging question in subsequent capsule. I would like to encourage you that we are all learning and everything that I now teach against I did in the past that is why I am passionate. Stick to what is provided in Christ, then ask and expect to receive, seeking leads to finding, when you knock it opens with greater frequency in Jesus name, amen!

“Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews.”
‭‭John‬ ‭4:22‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Starting with this capsule, by the grace of God, I hope to share with you some of the answers to that nagging question 'Why am I not getting the results as promised in Matthew 7:7-8 or Luke 11:8-9? This is a potent question every born again child of God should ask and expect answers. Don't explain it away, you will be doing yourself a disfavour and this will invariably lead to frustration.
However, before we start, I would like to put some disclaimers on record. I do not claim to have all the answers, but I can guarantee you that the things we are going to share will definitely improve your experience and answers to your prayers.

Secondly, everything that I will counter or teach against, I have done in the past but by the grace of God I now know better.

Thirdly, these truths will cut across and can be applied in the 4 cardinal areas of Forgiveness of Sin, Freedom from demonic oppression, Divine Health/Healing, and Material prosperity. Indeed it will nourish and fertilise your Christian experience.

The first and probably the most important reason is failure to 'MAKE THE MAIN THING, THE MAIN THING'. To understand this, we would consider the interaction between Christ and the Samaritan Woman in John chapter 4. In verse 22, Christ said in part to her (my translation), 'you are worshiping God who you don't know or who you don't understand'. This is a damning assessment of her spiritual life and understanding. Unfortunately, this also applies to a sizeable proportion of people in church today! For some reasons we have completely misunderstood the purpose of prayer. Virtually most times prayer is taught, it is about how to get something from God or to get Him to do something. While there is a place for this, it is really a small fraction. I know this might be difficult for a lot of people to accept, especially because we are daily pressed on every side by needs. But ask yourself, 'Are you aware of any healthy relationship were those involved don't know each other well?' If you are going to be truthful, the answer is an unqualified No! Prayer is primarily a means of communicating, and fellowshipping with God. When this is done based and premised on the word, the result is that we get to know Him intimately and from this flows TRUST. Trust is a by product of your knowledge of God, there is no other way. (This ought to be obvious?) Hebrews 11:6. It is impossible to trust God who you do not know, and how can you know Him if all your interactions with Him is based solely on NEED and demand. It is virtually impossible to behave with confidence or properly towards God except you know Him. See the contrast between the Old and New Covenant saints, one was a nation of servants who had no real interaction with God except through Laws, the other is a family made of 'sons' in whom God dwells (That is the commentary and picture painted by Hebrew 12:18-24). God has called us to know and fellowship with Him, absolutely every other thing derives from this (John 4:24, John 17:3)

“But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto ". Matthew 6:33 KJV

In Matthew 6:24-34, Christ listed the different needs that causes anxiety and more or less dismissed them saying, God is aware of all of them and has already made provision for us so there is no good justification for us to panic or be anxious like people who don't know God (that is the Gentiles). As an antidote to any form of anxiety, He prescribed verse 33 'But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto"! Unfortunately, despite the fact that this verse is commonly quoted, in my estimation it is often misinterpreted! This verse in context is simply saying 'your main focus should be to understand the person of God and His ways of doing things and everything you need will follow effortlessly' in other words knowing God is the main thing, your needs will be taken care of.

I sincerely pray that you are assimilating this truth, the other reasons we would touch on are just practical applications of this. God has an intense desire to fellowship with His family, that is why He gave us the scriptures, resides in us by His Spirit, gave us an open invitation to hang out with Him constantly (2Timothy 3:16, Hebrews 4:16, Hebrews 13:5). We have a strong relationship with Him because we trust Him. We trust Him because we know Him. We know Him because we fellowship and communicate with Him, Paul describes it as the FELLOWSHIP or COMMUNION OF THE HOLY SPIRIT (2 Corinthians 13:14). This is making 'THE MAIN THING' THE MAIN THING! Once you understand this and it becomes a living concept, asking and receiving, seeking and finding, knocking and 'open' will happen increasingly.

In the next capsules we would touch on the other reasons, don't worry,  expect things to fall into place. God has got it covered!
I constantly get verbal feedback about how different people have been blessed by these capsules, if so, let's spread the word, link this with your social media sites.

The Introduction

In the last series, on more than one occasion I stressed that the scriptures must always be held superior to your experience. The fact that some time your personal experience in life is at variance with what the word of God promises is never a good reason to come up with some philosophical or extra scriptural answers. In fact that should be an incentive to find out why things are not working out as promised by the Word. None of us know it all, and if God is your father you should be confident enough to go back to Him and ask 'why?' (Matthew 5:6). A key ministry of the Holy Spirit is to lead us into all truths (John 16:13)

In the last last series, one of the scriptures we used in our conclusion is Luke 11:8-9. This scripture and the attendant parable was given by Christ immediately after He taught the disciples about prayer, as a demonstration of what to expect when we pray (Theory and Practice). Luke 11:8-9, Matthew 7:7-8 shuts out any argument, it's like belt and braces. If it was just “Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you", we would have been justified to come up with some of the explanations that is common place about our individual exceptional circumstances. However the next verse “For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened" gives no wiggle room, makes no individual exception. Everyone means everyone period!, no 'Ifs' or 'Buts' or 'Maybes' or 'No'.

This is the theme all through the New Covenant, it's not just a one off deal. Luke 12:32, “Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom.” This promise says God takes pleasure in fulfilling your needs. Matthew 6:7-8 “But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking. Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ask". This promise assures you that God knows what you need before you ask, so pretentious, tedious or vain repetition is not necessary (a few of these have crept into the pentecostal idiom). In other words God is not deaf and cannot be bullied. Isaiah 65:24 even prophesied about us “And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.” This is exactly what Christ alluded to in Luke 18:8a. God does not only want to answer us, He wants it done speedily! Matthew 6:24-34, counters a lot of our common fears, it is more or less saying 'DON'T PANIC, GOD HAS GOT IT COVERED'! (We would take a closer look at Matthew 6:33 later). These and many more scriptures leaves me in no doubt of the willingness of God and that the problem is never with God. Yet virtually everybody I know (myself included) can point at certain occasions when asking did not lead to receiving, seeking did not produce finding, and they knocked and could not find an opening! My prayer is that by the end of this series such situations will become less frequent (Proverbs 4:19)

“For what if some did not believe? Shall their unbelief make the faith of God without effect? God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That thou mightest be justified in thy sayings, and mightest overcome when thou art judged.” Romans 3:3-4 KJV

Romans 3:3-4, is the litmus test! It will help simplify things for you, it will concentrate your mind and save you from philosophical explanations that are often peddled as the word of God, without basis in sound doctrine. In fact it will encourage you to go back to God and ask why your experience is at variance to what He promised. Over the years this has been my attitude, I never settle for NO or MAYBE, I find out why, so that I can receive what is promised! I cannot claim I have all the answers, not by a long stretch, far from it, in fact nobody has (1 Corinthians 13:9-11). My intention is to share some of the things I have found in the next few capsules. I intend to answer some nagging questions that seem to bug you and I.

I believe with all my heart that this series will change lives like no other, be ready to engage and have your minds detoxed and transformed.
Please if you can, link this to your social media sites, lets fill this Jerusalem with the Gospel of Christ
