“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:”
‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭1:3‬ ‭KJV

I hope you have been thoroughly fired up by the discussion so far, I know I will never be the same again. We are considering The blessing of the Lord under three equally important topics, Truly Blessed, Blessed and Highly Favoured and Blessed beyond a Curse. This is the 4th Capsule under Truly Blessed, please spend time on the previous capsules to get the full gist. These teachings need to become a living concept for you to benefit. In 2014, when we started the Mindgym/God's Pill there was a lot of resistance to the teachings because they go against the grain of tradition beliefs, but thank God I can feel a gradual turn of the tide, some of the things we discussed as far back then, that appear strange are gradually becoming mainstream and fashionable (check them out and you will be surprised). We are all equal at the foot of the Cross, it's Christ in us that makes the difference (Colossians 1:27). In the last capsule we found out that the first step to walking in the blessing is to put premium on it, acknowledged it and protect it, that is the trigger. In Luke chapter 1 verse 38, Mary said ''be it unto me according to thy word'. In verse 45 of the same chapter, her cousin Elisabeth validated it “And blessed is she that believed: for there shall be a performance of those things which were told her from the Lord.”

In this capsule we would look at the purpose behind the blessing to avoid abuse and misuse. However, I would like to show you some distinction between Blessings and Miracles, just to give some perspective. A miracle comes in times of crisis, whereas blessing is meant to prevent crisis, miracle is for a season and specific situation, blessing is constant and you can walk in it. A miracle in the real sense is never as abundant compared to the workings of a blessing. A constant need for miracle would stifle spiritual growth and maturity, whereas the converse is true with walking in blessing (Psalms 103:7). Usually miracles involve suspension of natural laws, whereas blessing harness and optimise them, these are just a few of the differences. Don't get me wrong which ever way your deliverance comes from God is 100% desirable. There are times you need the two to live a triumphant life.

“So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.” Genesis 1:27-28 KJV

The first and most important reason God blessed us with all spiritual blessings is because God qualifies the called, He does not call the qualified so that no flesh will take the glory (1Corinthians 1:26). Every other reason derives from this. In Genesis chapter 1, the first thing God did after each creation is to bless it, in other words, He set them on a course of perpetuity by putting the seed in them. For Man, not only did He put a physical seed, He also imparted Man with His divine nature (Genesis 1:27-28, 2 Peter 1:2-4). The Christian life is not a changed, but an exchanged life (Galatians 2:20-21). God is our only source and because He wants you to succeed, He gives you ALL the tools you need to reflect and represent Him properly (2 Corinthians 5:20, 1 Peter 2:9). Living and walking in the blessings of the Lord keeps you connected and grounded to God, you constantly have to draw on the supply in you by faith (Hebrews 11:6, Deuteronomy 8:12-18, Genesis 14:22-23). Faith draws on what has already ready been provided spiritually bringing them to the physical.

The second reason, is that God would only accept a service or offering that comes out of what He has given you. I pray you understand this! that is why when He needed the perfect sacrifice for Sin, He provided Christ (John 1:29). This has implications for your offerings and tithes. In the Old Testament, the fire on the brazen altar came from heaven and it was from this all sacrifices and incense were burnt, this was meant to be the only source of fire for everything offered to God. In Leviticus chapter 10, Nadab and Abihu, sons of Aaron got fire from another source to burn incense, of course it was unacceptable to God .

The Blessing is like a combination of job description, qualification and tools to implement. We are blessed to succeed in every aspect of every day life but we are also blessed for specifics. This is why the church is described as a body, every part of the body should be vibrant, but have separate functions (Ephesians 4:16). Don't do something and ask God to bless it, rather find what He has blessed you to do, then do it. When you understand this, it creates confidence and stability, you are not a copy of somebody else, but an original. God is a creator not a 'rank xerox'!

The implication of the above three is that, God has blessed you so that you can be a BLESSING, first to the body then the world(Galatians 6:10) It takes the BLESSED to bless, you can only give what you have and know that you have (Genesis 12:2, Genesis 30:30). The blessings of the Lord are in you and form an unending source of supply and provision. The blessings comes from within and transform your surroundings and make it lush. Adam had his physical garden around him, the blessings of the LORD is the spiritual seed of your garden, if you release it, it will change what is around you. One of the reasons for greed is the fear of reversal of fortune. Fear dulls and confuses your spiritual antenna, an understanding that your blessings is within you, stimulates and liberates your faith, it makes you walk in freedom, knowing that no matter the situation you find yourself, it's a matter of time, things will turn around. The Jews have live this reality, even the very existence of the nation of Israel is based on this.

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:”
‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭1:3‬ ‭KJV

Recap, in capsule one we found out we are blessed (past tense), with all blessings guaranteed by Christ and in capsule 2, we scrutinised and interrogated the blessing to separate it from falsehood (In other words the definition and component parts). The most important lesson for me is the truth that Blessings come in spiritual form, not physical. Because you cannot see it does not mean it does not exist , in other words, 'absence of evidence is not the evidence of absence'! Everything physical originates from the spiritual. If its from God, toiling will not improve it, and if it has sorrow it is not from God, simple!

In this capsule we would start learning to walk in it. If you are to manifest the blessing of Lord, the first step is for you to acknowledge the truth that it's already in you and draw it out by faith (Philemon 1: 6). Everything hinges on this, otherwise you will be like a dog chasing it's tail. You can only do something with what you know you have. I will explain this further, but let me give two examples. Joseph in Genesis 40 whilst in prison knew he was blessed with the gift of interpretation of dreams and solving enigmas that was why he volunteered to interpret the dream of the butler and baker. He knew he had the spiritual seed in himself, similarly with Jacob in Laban's house. Until you are convinced within yourself, you will not act, you can only plant the seed you know you have. If you're Christ's then you're Abraham's seed and heir of the promise (Galatians 3:29, Genesis 22:17-18). My question is are you born again? Do you believe it? If the answer is yes to both, then act like it. This is the first step, it's like pregnancy, you first know it, then people close to you will acknowledge it, then strangers would desire it. Joseph knew he was blessed, then it became obvious to Potiphar, followed by the keeper of the prison, before the butler acknowledged it and lastly Pharaoh. Same with Jacob, in Genesis 30:27, Laban acknowledged it without Jacob telling him. That is how it works, first you acknowledge it, then people who are similarly blessed will see it in you and lastly those that desire it will come to you. You must put value on it and acknowledge it, stop running all over the place asking for what you already have (1Corinthians 15:58). The reason Joseph refused to defile himself with Potiphar's wife was because he knew he had something better than what was being offered, similarly with Daniel in Chapter 1:8. Angel Gabriel told Mary she was blessed, She acknowledged and believed (be it unto me according to thy word) and her cousin Elizabeth knew without being told (Luke 1:26-45). Do you know that all these people operated under an inferior covenant compared to us?

“And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭1:3‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Before we end this capsule I will like to correct a common misconception. The fact that you are blessed is not an invitation to laziness or mediocrity. In fact being blessed should do the opposite (Proverbs 12:24, 27; Proverbs 22:29). Psalm 1:1-3 describes a blessed man, the last part shows that he is not a lazy person. This ought to be obvious, let me illustrate this with a real life story. A Christian sister I know refused to take up any form of work because she lived in a country where all sorts of government handouts abound (of course these are never designed to give you abundance). The interesting thing was she is always the first in any prosperity prayer line. I finally called her aside and explained to her that it was all a waste of time, because she was doing nothing. I told her that despite the fact that she is blessed with all spiritual blessings, to see the manifestation she needs to give the blessing an opportunity to manifest . Let's put it this way, the blessing multiplied by zero, gives zero, even Adam who had everything in the garden of Eden was not jobless or a loafer, he needed to tend the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Ignorance of this is why people fall prey to all sorts of gimmicks (enough said).

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:”
‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭1:3‬ ‭KJV‬‬

In capsule 1 we started the discussion on the 'Blessing of the Lord', few things were established. These are, the fact that we are already blessed with all blessings and Christ is the guarantor. That part of our Christian life is already sorted, dealt with , finished and complete. This might not be obvious, it does not mean it has not happened. We will in this capsule define what a Blessing is and what it does, once you understand this, what is needed is how to walk in it, such that it becomes an experiential concept, not a 'pie in the sky , but a steak on the plate right now'.

“The blessing of the Lord–it makes [truly] rich, and He adds no sorrow with it [neither does toiling increase it].” Proverbs 10:22 AMP
Look at Proverbs 10:22 ( I am using the amplified bible version). This is the anatomy of the subject of discussion. Note that it says 'the blessing of the Lord', this should immediately sound an alarm bell, the need to distinguish it from others (appearance can be deceptive). Again see the three functional elements 1. It makes rich, meaning it's the blessing that makes the riches, not the riches that make the blessing 2. It is not accompanied with sorrow and 3. You cannot add to it by toiling.

Definition: This Blessing is the Intrinsic spiritual ability to prosper, imparted by God.

The blessing is not physically, in other words, the house, the car, lucrative business, good health etc is not the blessing. But the blessing when in operation should produce these things, not the other way round, huge fundamental difference!! If you understand this it will cure you of greed and envy. The danger is that a man can have all these physical things and the source is not the blessing of the Lord. Like Ephesians 1:3 states, the blessing of the Lord is a spiritual seed, and like a natural seed in the right environment, it will manifest the physical harvest. A good case study is Joseph, he got into Egypt as a slave in Genesis 39, then became a servant, then a prisoner. In chapter 41 he had become a prime minister. He was blessed whilst in the pit, naked without a thing in the world, it was the blessing that took him all the way through.

The same with Jacob, the blessing was imparted in Genesis 27, he became a fugitive, then a servant. By Genesis 31, he was richer than his boss Laban, so much so that the whole household envied him. Similarly his father Isaac in Genesis 26, succeeded where others failed because he was blessed. There is much more I would like to say, but for time and space. A blessing is like the seed, it has within it the power of more. This should give you confidence that you have within you the intrinsic spiritual ability to prosper in every aspect of life because you're Blessed with ALL SPIRITUAL BLESSINGS.(Psalm 1:3).

Secondly, the physical manifestation of this blessing , if it's from the Lord will not be associated with sorrow, anxiety or fear of reversal. Why? because the blessing of the Lord it makes rich without adding sorrow. The reason people are so fearful and greedy is because it is not based on the blessing of the Lord. Because we have come to realise that the blessing of the Lord makes rich, people pursue riches by any means possible hoping that the riches will be evidence that they are blessed. Unfortunately the church has bought into this grievous error too and it leads to many sorrows (1Timothy 6:10).

Toiling is not the same as hard work. Toiling means to receive no reasonable reward for the amount of effort. It is evidence of the absence of God in an endeavour (Genesis 3:17-19 and Luke 5:5 give good examples). You cannot with human effort improve on the blessing of God, what God has left out, you cannot add. If it is derived from the blessing you will not struggle or cause damage in the process (Matthew 12:18-20). So in conclusion the blessing of the Lord does only one thing and one thing only.....IT MAKES RICH, that is all, simple isn't it? So don't be deceived, if the riches has sorrow and bares the hallmark of toiling, then it is not the product of the blessing of the Lord

It is important to clear the confusion and wrong perception in the first two capsules. In the next capsule we would learn how to walk in the blessing of Lord.

Let's advertise the good news, send a link of to your Facebook account and Twitter etc, somebody you know will be glad you did.

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:”
‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭1:3‬ ‭KJV‬‬

I believe with all my heart that we would do great things together this year. Three things are needed 'Steadfast, unmovable, always abounding' (1 Corinthians 15:58). At the end of this year you will look back and be amazed how far and deep you've gone in the things of the Lord, Amen in Jesus, name. I would like in the next few capsules to look at THE BLESSING OF THE LORD! To do this I would like to approach it under 3 equally important operative headings.

Every Christian I know have a common desire to be blessed, but few have a scriptural grasp of what it means and that is what we would tackle and untangle. Our index scripture is '“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:” An examination of this passage exposes three operative components that needs to be properly understood and appreciated in the New Testament concept if you are to actualise this.

The first is (a) The Grammatical Tense (b) The extent or scope of the blessing, and lastly (c) The qualifying Factor. Ephesians 1:3 says, we are already blessed. It is important that you realised that it is a done deal, it has already happened. The day you became born again, God blessed you! In fact the whole of Ephesians chapter 1 goes ahead to validate this. Everything is written in past tense to correct your focus. The reason why a lot of Christians struggle with this truth is based on misunderstanding of what a blessing is (we would deal with that in subsequent capsules). Ephesians 1:16-19, on a personal note is the most important prayer for any New Testament believer. Paraphrased, it's asking God to show us what He has already done, to show us that we are already blessed.

If you understand that we are already blessed, then you need to know that we are blessed with ALL blessings, all means all, nothing has been left out. A study of the Old Testament will help you understand that there are different blessings, in other words the extent and scope differs. Genesis 1:28 describes the extent and scope of the blessing of Adam. Abraham, in Genesis 12, this was redefined and re-emphasised in chapters 15 and 22 respectively. Jacob in Genesis 27, you will see this pattern through out the OT. In fact the blessing tells you the limit and scope of what you are empowered to do. For example Genesis 1:28 describes the scope and sphere of influence of the blessing of the first Adam as the earth. Not so for the Last Adam/Christ (Philippians 2:9-11), This has a far reaching implication for us.

The last part of that passage tells you what qualifies us to be blessed with all spiritual blessings. When you are born of the spirit, spiritually you are identical with Christ, molecule for molecule (1John 4:17). It is the sacrifice that qualifies the sinner, not the other way round and Christ is the perfect sacrifice that qualifies us, that is the reason you end every New Testament prayer in His name. That is why phrases like 'in Him', 'through Him', 'in whom' etc are found all over the NT to describe our inheritance. We are joint heirs with Him, that is, it belongs to both of us (Romans 8):17, 32). We are complete and completely in Him (Colossians 2:10, 2 Corinthians 5:17)

In closing Ephesians 1:3, says we are already blessed in every way possible through the perfect sacrifice, it is important that you understand this otherwise you will be looking and asking for what you have already.

Please go through all the scriptural references and validate these truths yourself (Acts 17:11).
In the next few capsules we would consider what a blessing really means and how to walk in it. This is going to be good, so buckle up.
