“As the bird by wandering, as the swallow by flying, so the curse causeless shall not come.” Proverbs 26:2 KJV

I sincerely hope you have gained insight into this touchy subject, I know that this is not commonly taught, nevertheless everything I have discussed is based on the veracity of the scriptures! As promised, I will show you the practical applications of what we discussed in capsule 12, unfortunately they are endemic, but I pray your heart will be humble enough to see. None of us is perfect, but by prayer, meditation and observation over several years I have come to identify 4 categories. For ease of discussion I have paired them.

IGNORANCE AND FEAR. This pair is self explanatory, what you don't know will kill you. For some reason a lot of Christians put premium on ignorance. Hosea 4:6 says, 'God's people are destroyed because they lack knowledge. Isaiah 5:13 says, 'you will go into captivity if you lack knowledge. We are more interested in what somebody said or prevailing tradition than searching the word of God. An ignorant person will always be prey to the devil. You will fear things that ought to fear you. People who want to exploit you will have a field day. They will work on your lack of knowledge and use fear as a tool. Once fear grips your heart, faith flies out, then the hedge is broken and you are like a lamb led to the slaughterhouse.

The next three pairs are the most sinister for three reasons, 1. They are found among 'mature' people who should know better, 2. They appear subtle and 3. Usually there is a sense of justification. Ignorance and fear are easily recognisable and remedied where there is willingness' but these three are not.

REBELLION/MURMURING: The freedom we have in Christ unfortunately have been misunderstood, this has given birth to rebellion and murmuring. Whenever liberty is not coupled with responsibility, this is the result. This is the reason why all the adults that left Egypt died in the wilderness and never saw the promise land. At the heart of Rebellion and Murmuring is disobedience and stubbornness which 1 Samuel 15:23, says is as bad as witchcraft and idolatry. Rebellion/Murmuring disrupts DIVINE ORDER and this leads to a break in the hedge (Order: Perfect arrangement of things). I have seen people with great gifts and promise fizzle out because of this evil. A necessary ingredient for rebellion and murmuring is conspiracy and back-biting. Those who conspire with you, in time will conspire against you.

WRONG MOTIVE/SELF-CENTREDNESS (aka PRIDE): You need to constantly search your heart and purify your motives. If you are all wrapped up in yourself, you form a very small package. Contrast Eve's attitude to temptation (Genesis 3) to that of Christ (Luke 4:3-12, Philippians 2:5-8). Pride will destroy the hedge around you in a hurry, instead of considering what you have, you will be more concerned with what you don't have or what others have. It makes you miserable and blur boundaries. Proverbs 13:10a says' 'Only by pride cometh contention:......' Did you notice that it says, 'only by pride....' not that pride is one of the possible causes of contention. Once your motive is wrong, the driving force is self centredness (Philippians 2:3). Arrogance and false humility are the two extremes of pride. Under this category is greed and all forms of sexual sin.

QUARRELS/ANGER: This affects people in leadership more than any other. 2 Timothy 2:24 “And the servant of the Lord must not strive (quarrel); but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient,”
The primary reason why quarrels come is because we feel we have to fight our corner as individuals. It is a retaliatory instinct and an expression of our lack of faith in God. God can vindicate you more effectively than you can, all you have to do is trust Him.
Anger is destructive in the short term, Quarrel on the long run leads to bitterness.

As we end this capsule, I will like to point out that none of us is perfect, we all at some point in time unwittingly break the hedge. These last three result from wrong emotions. If you can rule your emotions you will not break the hedge and the serpent will not bite!

I have received some interesting feedbacks in this series, it's time for Temperature and Pulse check!

(Part 1)

“He that diggeth a pit shall fall into it; and whoso breaketh an hedge, a serpent shall bite him.” Ecclesiastes 10:8 KJV

“Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭6:16‬ ‭KJV‬‬

I would like to express my appreciation for your patience and tenacity up till now. As promised in the last two capsules of this series I will be proffering answers to nagging questions (I have been there too). If indeed we are TRULY BLESSED, BLESSED AND HIGHLY FAVOURED, BLESSED BEYOND A CURSE, why is it that we struggle and live like mere men? Why is it some Christians still operate under curses? In an attempt to answer these questions, I have heard a lot of explanations which to me are at best unscriptural and fan the fire of fear instead of the flame of faith and love. I intend to present my case and sincerely hope this would help. I cannot over emphasise the importance of the next two capsules (what gets us into trouble is not what we know, but what we don't know but think we know, there is a balance to everything in life). We would start with the basic principles and I would show you the application in the next capsule.

I believe the above two scriptural passages, Ecclesiastes 10:8 and Romans 6:16, offer great insight. Everything we have shared so far hinges on the understanding that you are in Christ spiritually and a conscious effort to maintain this position (Jude 1:3). I will give you a crude analogy, for instance if you travel from Lagos to New York by flight, at any point in the journey you are flying. The reason you are able to do that is because you are in the plane and smart enough to stay there. The plane is actually the thing that is flying by exercising the Laws of Thrust and Lift, so Gravity has no effect on you. If you venture outside the plane you are no longer under the protection of the Laws of Thrust and Lift, so Gravity takes over and you drop like a stone. In the physical nobody will leave the comfort and security inside the plane and venture out , so why would you do that in the spiritual? (Galatians 5:1).

Now look a Ecclesiastes 10:8, it says if you break the hedge, the serpent will bite. This tells you that the reason the serpent have access to you is because of your action......'you broke the hedge '. Unfortunately, many Christians break the hedge for several reasons, but most times because of ignorance and wrong actions, then unwittingly allow a curse into their lives from outside. By implication the snake can only come in if you allow it. The same way, you must maintain your position in Christ and avoid room for any curse, since it cannot go through Christ for all the reasons we discussed in Capsules 10 and 11.....simple?

The second scripture, Romans 6:16, is saying the same thing but more explicitly. If you yield yourself to sin, you become the servant of sin and sin will lead to death or allow the entrance of curse . 1 Corinthians 15:56 says 'the sting that leads to death is sin', so don't mess about with sin. The opposite happens when you yield to righteousness. What I would like you to note in these two passages is that for a born again Christian you are directly responsible for what happens. Let me put it another way, no curse can find entrance into your life if you do not allow it by your action or inaction (Proverbs 26:2). This is key if you are to live BLESSED BEYOND A CURSE.

These two scriptures are so key and form the foundation of any breach of protection from curse. You see that for a Christian both are self inflicted problems, it weakens your immunity and cause unnecessary exposure to curses from outside in. Once you understand this, you can always use it as the plumb line to judge your actions. I will show you the practical applications in the next capsule, they are subtle but rife in the body but also identifiable and to a large extent avoidable so that you can keep the hedge up and curses out!

It will soon be time for TEMPERATURE and PULSE check for this series. Please send your comments and feedback through the blog site or to,

“And the law is not of faith: but, The man that doeth them shall live in them. Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.” Galatians 3:12-14

This discussion has generated so much interest much more than any other series in recent times. Although God's Pill is written with some bias for divine healing, the truths have universal application. Let me repeat and make two things clear, 1. I have absolutely nothing against western medicine, however, I insist that what we have in Christ is far superior. Secondly, I am not encouraging sin or sinful behaviour. Sin will take you further than you want to go, keep you longer and extract more than you want to pay. In fact if you enjoy sin, it's either you are not truly born again or you are not smart (Titus 2:11-12, Romans 6:1-2)

In this capsule we would be delving deeper into Blessed beyond a Curse. In part one of Blessed beyond a curse (New Testament Reality), I showed you that because WE ARE IN CHRIST, the blessings of the Lord become ours as a result of the faith we put in the perfect sacrifice, not as a result of works or keeping of the law (Romans 3:20, 28). On the flip side, also because WE ARE IN CHRIST any curse from outside will need to go through Christ to reach us! Secondly, a close examination of Galatians 3:13 reveals the substitutionary work of Christ. Not only did He obtain the blessings of the Lord for us, He also took the curse, in fact it goes beyond that, He became a Curse. This removes any legal hold that a curse can or should have. What this means, is that the accuser ( that is the Devil) cannot legally present a case against you (Romans 8:1, 33-34). In the OT, anytime a sacrifice is presented by an individual, the priest will examine the sacrifice to check for any imperfections, once he is satisfied, the sacrifice is offered (and the sinner is free). On the day of Atonement the high priest will lay hands on the scapegoat and lay the 'sin' of the whole nation on it. The scapegoat became the curse and the people were free for one year. This is what Christ did, He became a Curse for everyone that would put faith in Him and He did this ONCE, FOR ALL PEOPLE AND FOREVER! (Hebrews 9:11-28, Hebrews 10:11-14). Like the scape goat in the OT, the people and the High Priest volunteered Christ and gave Him up for crucifixion (so that the SIN OF THE HUMAN RACE CAN BE PUT ON HIM). Remember that Pontius Pilate examined Christ and gave the verdict that he could not find any fault in Him (Luke 23:1-4, 2 Corinthians 5:21). Can you see the parallel?

“For God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, no longer counting people’s sins against them. And he gave us this wonderful message of reconciliation” ‭‭ - 2 Corinthians‬ ‭5:19‬ ‭NLT‬‬

“To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.” - 2 Corinthians‬ ‭5:19‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Looking at the above, that is often ignored, it says God examined Christ and the conclusion was that He (God the father) is NO LONGER imputing or counting people's sins against them. Don't forget that curses come by transgression of the law or sin, according to Deuteronomy 28:15-68. When you fully understand the substitutionary work of Christ, you should be able to break the power of any curse and walk away free. In fact you should be like Teflon to curses if you are walking in these realities. Unfortunately most of us (including this writer) need our minds renewed to get to this point. Once you know, it is then your duty to take authority and if necessary break the hold of any curse, even generational ones ( For this, I would have to refer you to Capsules 27-29, 2014, Breaking Generational Curse).

As I roundup, it is important that your knowledge, relationship and fellowship with God is based on LOVE FOR HIM, and not fear of the Devil. If all you do is based on the fear of what the devil can do, you have lost the liberty we have in Christ by default, it will weaken your faith because fear has torment and makes you vulnerable . Love on the other hand never fails.

I have discussed so many things that are counter culture but true. I am sure that this has provoked a lot of questions. I will be putting balance to things in the next two capsules, so it is crucial that you follow through.

“And the law is not of faith: but, The man that doeth them shall live in them. Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.” Galatians 3:12-14 (Please read the whole of Galatians chapter 3 for contextual understanding).

This topic is a sacred cow! If we kill it properly, it will set us free from all man made bondage and deception . I hope you are conversant with the discussion so far, I will encourage you to go through the previous 9 capsules to refresh your mind and see things in the right context. In capsule 9, I showed that even under the OT, the blessing is more potent than the curse for the children of Israel. Remember that the OT was a shadow, a temporary imperfect arrangement before the real deal NT was established (Galatians 3:23-25, Hebrews 8:13). Please consider and ponder our index scripture, Galatians 3:12-14, it is key to unlocking this knotty topic, we would come back to this again and again.

Before I explain the mechanics, look at John 10:10. “The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly'. This sets an eternal principle of God, He doesn't just give enough, He gives more than enough.....abundant. In this instance the life of God (or blessings) is in excess of what is needed to overcome the effects of any curse that is designed to steal, kill or destroy. That is why one of His covenant name is El Shaddai or Almighty God. The same principle is seen in Ephesians 3:20, '....exceeding, abundantly, above'.

In the OT, largely the Blessings of the Lord come through the Law, and curses result from transgressions of the Law (Deuteronomy 28). The Lord however knowing that it was virtually impossible for them to keep every law, provided a sacrifice for every transgression, and as additional insurance He provided a day of atonement every year when all the 'sins' are laid on the scape goat. This was not a perfect arrangements but was effective for that dispensation. In the NT we are blessed through the sacrifice of Christ, that is, the Blessings of the Lord come through faith in what Christ did. This truth has been repeated so many times that we don't pause to consider. This is such an absolutely perfect work that to add to it makes it void (Romans 11:6). I pray you are understanding this, It is the fulfilment of the Law by Christ and our faith in Him that gives us access to the blessings. This is so because Christ was the only person that was able to fulfil the Law perfectly (Matthew 5:17, Romans 3:20, 28). For us the keeping of the Law does not make God love you more or less, His love is unconditional because He has seen the travail of Christ and He is satisfied (Isaiah 53:11). Secondly, the sacrifice of Christ (unlike in the OT) was Once for All time and All peoples (Hebrews 9:11-12, 15, Hebrews 10:11-14, 1John 2:2).. Thirdly, Christ's present day ministry is that of intercession for the Saints (Romans 8:24). I  say all these to establish the truth that the Blessings of the Lord come from putting faith in what Christ did, you cannot earn it, but only receive it as a gift.

On the other hand, whilst keeping of the law does not make God love you more, it however makes you love God more, it creates a tenderness of the heart that is expressed through our love for Him. The sacrifice of Christ does not give a license to sin but a liberty from sin. As a matter of fact, a proper understanding of the previously discussed, should make you abhor and avoid sin. Sin hardens the heart, creates a callousity and lack of sensitivity to things of God (I will discuss this further when we are putting balance to this teaching). One of the reasons why we struggle to see the blessings of the Lord active, is because we struggle with faith. Faith flows when God's love is revealed (Galatians 5:6, Jude 1:20-21). It is far profitable if your obedience to God is prompted by Love for Him, because it enhances your faith and activates the blessings that are already yours through Christ and resident in you.

In closing, if you are in Christ (2 Corinth 5:17), just as Christ is the sure conduit for the Blessings of the Lord by faith, He is the impenetrable defence and complete prevention from curses (Galatians 3:13, Colossians 2:13-14). This is what we would consider in some depth in the next capsule. These truths are not something you come across just once and completely grasp. It has taken me years of meditating on them before I can share them with any clarity, even then they are still unfolding to me and will continue to unfold. I say all these to encourage you (2 Timothy 2:15).

We would continue the part 2 in capsule 11. Please meditate on Galatians 3:12-14. In capsule 12, the last in this series we would answer some nagging questions, then it will be time for pulse and temperature check next.

“And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.”
‭‭Genesis‬ ‭12:2-3‬ ‭KJV‬‬

I am sure that from our discussion so far, even if we do not completely agree on everything, there are common grounds. We know what a blessing is and what a curse is. We also agree on how each is initiated, and the truth that we are highly favoured. These are the basics, l pray and believe that the Holy Spirit will make the details available and clear to you much more than I can ever do. In this capsule I intend to show you that we are blessed beyond a curse, that the blessings of the Lord is permanent. It could be active or dormant but you should not be afraid of a curse. The difference is that curses are like weeds, they grow even where they are not supposed to, if you allow them. Whereas the blessings of the Lord need to be activated by faith and watered by patience (Hebrews 6:11-12). I hope you also spent time meditating on Numbers chapters 21-23, this is very important and central to our understanding.

In Genesis 27, Jacob with the help of his mother received the blessings due to his brother Esau, the first born. You need to understand the Jewish culture and tradition to appreciate the enormity of this travesty. Shortly after Jacob left, Esau showed up and Isaac realised his mistake, that is, he had pronounced the blessings of the first born on Jacob instead of Esau . Most people would expect him to just cancel his previous action and right the wrong? But Isaac's reaction gives a deep insight into the workings and effect of a blessing once spoken and set in motion.

“And Isaac trembled very exceedingly, and said, Who? where is he that hath taken venison, and brought it me, and I have eaten of all before thou camest, and have blessed him? yea, and he shall be blessed.”
‭‭Genesis‬ ‭27:33‬ ‭KJV‬‬ (Please read Genesis 27:33-43 to get the complete picture).

The reason Isaac TREMBLED very exceeding is because once the blessing has been set in motion, not even Isaac himself can reverse it '... have blessed him? yea, and he shall be blessed.' (Genesis 27:33b). Numbers 23:19 explains why, “God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?” This scripture that is often quoted when taken in context is referring to the truth that the blessings of the Lord is not subject to reversal. This is saying that God has bound Himself by this oath because He cannot lie! Are you getting the picture?

It's a spiritual law, the blessings of the Lord come with an insurance that protects against a curse. Let's take Abram as an example, in Genesis 12:2, God blessed him. In verse 3, to protect the blessings, God said anyone that curse Abram will be cursed. In Genesis 27:29, the same was repeated concerning Jacob. A blessing if properly understood and activated protects you from the workings of curse. A curse will only take advantage of your ignorance or through your own cooperation (I will explain this later when I am putting a balance to things). The blessings of the Lord are much more potent than an curse. A curse cannot reverse a blessing, but a blessing can completely annihilate a curse. To even make things more secure, it is dangerous under this arrangement to curse somebody who is blessed of the Lord! Now if the blessing of the Lord is this strong in the life of OT Saints, then guaranteed it is infinitely more potent for us New Testament Saints (Matthew 11:11).

As we end this capsule I know that there are a lot of nagging questions based on observations around you. Everything I have said appears too good to be true, that is why it is the gospel.....Good News. You probably can give examples of Christians that you know who are operating under curses, and you are wondering what is the explanation? That is exactly the purpose of God's Pill (Luke 4:18-19). Your experience cannot be superior to the word of God, if both don't align, then it's your experience and circumstances that will have to change (Numbers 23:19).

God's pill, smooth and small enough to swallow, easily digestible to release it's goodness. Strictly no side effects.
