“And the law is not of faith: but, The man that doeth them shall live in them. Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.” Galatians 3:12-14

This discussion has generated so much interest much more than any other series in recent times. Although God's Pill is written with some bias for divine healing, the truths have universal application. Let me repeat and make two things clear, 1. I have absolutely nothing against western medicine, however, I insist that what we have in Christ is far superior. Secondly, I am not encouraging sin or sinful behaviour. Sin will take you further than you want to go, keep you longer and extract more than you want to pay. In fact if you enjoy sin, it's either you are not truly born again or you are not smart (Titus 2:11-12, Romans 6:1-2)

In this capsule we would be delving deeper into Blessed beyond a Curse. In part one of Blessed beyond a curse (New Testament Reality), I showed you that because WE ARE IN CHRIST, the blessings of the Lord become ours as a result of the faith we put in the perfect sacrifice, not as a result of works or keeping of the law (Romans 3:20, 28). On the flip side, also because WE ARE IN CHRIST any curse from outside will need to go through Christ to reach us! Secondly, a close examination of Galatians 3:13 reveals the substitutionary work of Christ. Not only did He obtain the blessings of the Lord for us, He also took the curse, in fact it goes beyond that, He became a Curse. This removes any legal hold that a curse can or should have. What this means, is that the accuser ( that is the Devil) cannot legally present a case against you (Romans 8:1, 33-34). In the OT, anytime a sacrifice is presented by an individual, the priest will examine the sacrifice to check for any imperfections, once he is satisfied, the sacrifice is offered (and the sinner is free). On the day of Atonement the high priest will lay hands on the scapegoat and lay the 'sin' of the whole nation on it. The scapegoat became the curse and the people were free for one year. This is what Christ did, He became a Curse for everyone that would put faith in Him and He did this ONCE, FOR ALL PEOPLE AND FOREVER! (Hebrews 9:11-28, Hebrews 10:11-14). Like the scape goat in the OT, the people and the High Priest volunteered Christ and gave Him up for crucifixion (so that the SIN OF THE HUMAN RACE CAN BE PUT ON HIM). Remember that Pontius Pilate examined Christ and gave the verdict that he could not find any fault in Him (Luke 23:1-4, 2 Corinthians 5:21). Can you see the parallel?

“For God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, no longer counting people’s sins against them. And he gave us this wonderful message of reconciliation” ‭‭ - 2 Corinthians‬ ‭5:19‬ ‭NLT‬‬

“To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.” - 2 Corinthians‬ ‭5:19‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Looking at the above, that is often ignored, it says God examined Christ and the conclusion was that He (God the father) is NO LONGER imputing or counting people's sins against them. Don't forget that curses come by transgression of the law or sin, according to Deuteronomy 28:15-68. When you fully understand the substitutionary work of Christ, you should be able to break the power of any curse and walk away free. In fact you should be like Teflon to curses if you are walking in these realities. Unfortunately most of us (including this writer) need our minds renewed to get to this point. Once you know, it is then your duty to take authority and if necessary break the hold of any curse, even generational ones ( For this, I would have to refer you to Capsules 27-29, 2014, Breaking Generational Curse).

As I roundup, it is important that your knowledge, relationship and fellowship with God is based on LOVE FOR HIM, and not fear of the Devil. If all you do is based on the fear of what the devil can do, you have lost the liberty we have in Christ by default, it will weaken your faith because fear has torment and makes you vulnerable . Love on the other hand never fails.

I have discussed so many things that are counter culture but true. I am sure that this has provoked a lot of questions. I will be putting balance to things in the next two capsules, so it is crucial that you follow through.
