GOD'S PILLS 2016 : CAPSULE 30

WALKING IN THE SUPERNATURAL SUPPLY OF GOD: THE TWO PARABLES

“This parable spake Jesus unto them: but they understood not what things they were which he spake unto them" - John 10:6 KJV

Praise God! I sincerely hope you have found these capsules helpful and life changing.
The primary purpose of God's Pill is to help correct mindsets or if you like 'detox' mindsets. There are so many assumptions among Christians and in my opinion a significant percentage of these are wrong, this then leads to conflict in our minds. At times we notice a disparity between what the word says and our experience, but we are too afraid, shy or ashamed to ask or find out why. If you are not careful, you run the risk of then trying to interpret the word by your experience. You must never do this, the word is immutable, it is the eternal evidence, the plumb line (I know all these, because I have been there before). Nobody can claim to have arrived, but let us head in the right direction. You can only be confident about what you know, your opinion or impression of God matters, in fact a lot depends on it (discussion for another day).

My intention is to wrap up this series with two parables of Christ that demonstrates what we have learnt so far (Luke 11:5-13, Luke 18:2-8). Proper understanding of these two parables will show you why a change in mindset is germane to 'Walking in the supernatural supply of God'. This will open up the better things that accompany SALVATION : Forgiveness of Sin, Freedom from demonic oppression, Material wealth and Divine Health (Hebrews 6:9). Again I will like to stress that in presenting these truths, I am not claiming to have it all together. I am still green and growing, there is so much I don't know, but I feel compelled to share what I know. I would implore you to be patient with me, because this might require a 180 degrees turn to what you have come to accept.

A word about parables. Parables (synonym: Proverbs) are earthly stories meant to convey spiritual truths. They are what you call allegory, in other words within them are hidden truths that needs to be interpreted carefully otherwise the meaning is lost. They are used where the recipients lack the spiritual capacity to receive the spiritual truth in it's plain form. They form a shadow of what the actual truth is and what is real. They are vehicles or tools whereby people under the Old Covenant could be taught the way The Kingdom of God operates. People under the Old Covenant were natural men and the Kingdom of God is spiritual.

Paraphrasing 1 Corinthians 2:14 'the natural man cannot receive the things of the Spirit of God, he considers them as foolishness and cannot know them, because they are spiritually discerned'. Hence they need this crude, watered down approach for communication of these truths to them. In Matthew 13 when the disciples wonder why Christ taught in parables, He explained that their hearts were waxed gross and ears were dull of hearing, so that they could not perceive spiritual truths, meaning that they lack the spiritual capacity. Even the parables to be of use to them Christ needed to interpret most of the time. Despite the association with the physical Christ, even the disciples were not exempt, although He expected better from them (Mark 4:11, 13).

“This parable spake Jesus unto them: but they understood not what things they were which he spake unto them.” John 10:6 KJV

“These things have I spoken unto you in proverbs: but the time cometh, when I shall no more speak unto you in proverbs, but I shall shew you plainly of the Father.” John‬ ‭16:25‬ ‭KJV‬‬

These two scriptures are instructive, John 10:6 describes things before the DEATH, BURIAL and RESURRECTION of Christ. John 16:25 paints the picture of what will happen after. With the coming of the Holy Spirit, our spirits came alive and we have within us the capacity to receive spiritual truths , so there is no need for things to be conveyed in parables, proverbs or allegories. This is the reason you will hardly find such from Acts to Revelation. God speaks to us through His word and Spirit expressly because we can compare 'spiritual with spiritual ' or in other words, Spirit can communicate with spirit intelligently . (1 Timothy 4:1, 1 Corinthians 2:9-16, 1 Peter 1:10-12, please study these references). When you understand this, it changes your mindset. It will open up all the parables, because onto us it is GIVEN to understand the mysteries of the Kingdom. The day I understood this, my heart raced and jumped for joy, I started seeing the parables in a completely different light , it was like somebody flipped the switch on. With this key you can demystify every parable without exception and is what we are about to do .

CONCLUSION
ONTO US IT IS GIVEN TO KNOW THE MYSTERIES OF THE KINGDOM.

Ps - We would consider Luke 11:5-13 in the next capsule. Let's call it the THREE AMIGOS.
