“But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth. This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish. For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.”
James 3:14-16 KJV

I sincerely hope you are finding this teachings useful and usable, they have the potential to change your lives. In the last capsule, I made a statement that 'because something is good does not make it godly for you'. This seems to have caused some reaction amongst readers of MinDGyM, hence it deserves some more explanation. This is particularly important if you are to avoid 'wrong motive, wrong agenda'. Let's look at lessons from a familiar bible story. In Genesis 26, there was severe famine similar to what Abraham experienced in his time. This led to a wave of economic migration to Egypt. There are two sound and logical reasons for this migration. Unlike every other place then, the River Nile kept Egypt fertile, and moreover Isaac had the past experience of his father to fall back on. These were two great indicators that made Egypt a GOOD choice for many people, right? But guess what, it was not godly for Isaac, because God said no. I hope you get the picture? If he had gone, he probably would have survived the famine but miss out big time on what God had in store for him. The sad part is that, he would not have known what he missed. Remember Isaac operated under an inferior covenant, he didn't have the great benefit of the in dwelling of the Holy Spirit, yet he could hear God........enough said.

For those who are joining us for the first time, we are discussing 'Answers to that nagging question: Why am I not getting the results promised in Matthew 7:7-8, Luke 11:8-9'. So far we have dealt with 'Making the main thing the main thing', 'Don't ask for things outside the New Covenant provisions', 'Allow patience to perfect the work', and in the last capsule, we discussed the hindrance 'Wrong motive; Wrong agenda'. In this capsule let's consider the double-barrelled 'Envying and Strife'. This, in my estimation is the most difficult to correct, many people find it easy to justify strife (aka contention, selfish ambition) not knowing that it's a hindrance to receiving.

Our Index scripture is quite instructive, (paraphrased), James 3:14, says 'don't justify it when you have bitter envying and strife in your heart'. There is never any reason or excuse for bitter envying and strife, never! The way people justify it is to say ' I am only human, I can't help it!'. No you are not only human, one third of you, the real you has the same spiritual DNA as the resurrected Christ. Verse 15, says ' justifying bitter envying and strife is demonic or devil inspired'. Verse 16 tells you the reason why. Confusion and every evil work (that is all evil work) thrive where there is envying and strife.

This is similar to 'wrong motive, wrong agenda', but it is actually different. This is more destructive, in that once it takes root it's like a weed, getting rid of it is never easy. Secondly, it is found in the leadership and among the gifted (Philippians 1:15-16, 2:3). It is sometimes called ruthless aggression or ambition. There are so many reasons why this is a hindrance to asking and receiving, seeking and finding, knocking with the door open. Most of the reasons are probably obvious but I think the reason for this is most times misunderstood.

This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish.
James 3:15

Take time to consider the above scripture that explains the source or inspiration behind this hindrance, It then becomes obvious why. But let me show you the logic (please pay close attention). When James 3:15 is in operation, it means you have ignored everything we have discussed from Capsule 34-40, 2016. Secondly, bitter envying and confusion have set in according to James 3:16. Now with this in mind, I want you to consider two key scriptures, James 1:17 and 1 Corinthians 14:33. Got it ?

I know I have made you think more than usual in this capsule, but that is the whole purpose of MinDGyM, to get you to think and not just react, to detox your mind. Please go through over and again until you can see it. In medical parlance, this is what we call a 'SLOW-RELEASE' capsule. In closing, I would like to make an observation that on the surface it appears controversial and I agree it is, but I also think it is true. This might be the reason why some Leaders and gifted people struggle with their health and at times meet with untimely death (Galatians 5:15).

There is much more to discuss, however we would look at one more hindrance in the next capsule and bring these series to a close.
I wish to express my gratitude to all those who help spread the word to a wider audience by linking the capsule to your social media sites, God is your reward.
