“Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.”
1 Timothy 2:4-6 KJV

I would like us to wrap up this year just like we started, for want of a better title I have labelled this last series of 2016, THE NAME, THE WORD AND TRADITION OF MEN. As far as titles go, this one is not catchy but I would like you to pay close attention to the content. This is one of the things that the Lord showed me early in my Christian walk which I believe has been invaluable. It is my considered opinion that it will do the same for you no matter how long you have been a Christian. It acts as a measuring stick with which you will take stock but because majority do not have this compass they flounder and generally go with the flow, fad or fashion. For instance you can measure your salvation experience in the four cardinal areas that I have often referred to, mainly: Forgiveness of Sin/sins, Freedom from demonic oppression, Divine Health/Healing and Material prosperity .These four form the content of salvation here on earth and of course you have an assurance of heaven. These four gives you the parameters and if you properly understand this you will not be taken advantage of. With this been said, let us consider another means of measure that is often ignored.

“For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.” 1 Timothy 2:3-4 KJV

Paul in his letter to Timothy said God's desire is for all men to be SAVED and then. COME INTO THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE TRUTH. That is, when you confess Jesus Christ as your Lord and saviour, according to Romans chapter Ten, verses nine and ten, salvation is imparted to your spirit, you become born again, you are now in Christ. You are translated from darkness into the kingdom of Christ, your sin is forgiven, you are redeemed, sanctified and perfected forever (note the past tense). These and much more is what it means to be SAVED, it is instantaneous and happens in your spirit. This is not a prolonged process and most Christians to certain extent know that.

But that is not the end of the story, to really take advantage of this salvation, God says you must COME INTO THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE TRUTH! This is the part that is ignored or poorly understood. That is the reason why majority is SAVED BUT STUCK. You cannot substitute this second part with anything else, not even 'prayer'. The first part of salvation is instantaneous, but the second part is a life long process. This is what brings stability in your life and stops you from chasing shadows. Until you come into the knowledge of the truth, you are SAVED but not experiencing the FREEDOM. The hidden man of the heart will not have the opportunity to influence the Soul and the Body. This is the reason why some are SAVED, but still feel condemned, suffer demonic oppression, their body is racked by disease and suffer lack, in other words they are SAVED without any outward evidence.

“Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” John 8:31-32 KJV

Again in John 8:31-32, Christ reiterated the same theme, when you know the TRUTH, the TRUTH will birth Freedom. This is the reason why we see the vast majority in the church remain stunted and live a beggarly life. Until you come into the knowledge of the truth you will substitute emotions and empty actions. Let me turn this round, God wants every man SAVED and come to the knowledge of the truth, but it's the truth that YOU KNOW that will make YOU free. This is a spiritual Law. Take a look at John 8:32 again, the TRUTH is actually a person and that person is Christ. This is clarified in John 8:36, (remember that this was a continuation of the discussion Christ was having with the same people) “If the SON therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed". ( He replaced ' The Truth' with 'The Son', that is Himself) I hope you are grasping this ? 1 Timothy 2:4, John 8:32, John 8:36.

The Greek word translated knowledge in 1 Timothy 2:4, is the word 'epignosis' meaning precise and correct or revealed knowledge or revelation. The word 'know' in John 8:32, is the word 'ginosko' meaning to know something intimately. In other words God wants us SAVED and come to the revealed, intimate knowledge of the person of Christ. (All these might sound too scholarly, but I assure you they form the building blocks of our discussion).

In the next capsule I will like to show you further that the person of Christ is the Truth that is referred to and why knowing the Truth completes the salvation coin. This will launch your Christian experience and open you up for more.
