“And ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan hath bound, lo, these eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the sabbath day?”
Luke 13:16 KJV

We are discussing the provision of Divine Healing, through the different dispensations: Those Outside the Covenant, Those in the Old Covenant and lastly, The New Covenant. Lack of appreciation of this distinction has contributed largely to the present state of affairs. This distinction permeates every aspect of our walk with God, you are either an Outcast, a Servant or Child/Son. In the last capsule we discussed the provision for those outside the Covenant and how it pertains to us, the dynamics (Matthew 15:21-28, Mark 7:23-29, Mark 16:16-18). Surely if God have been so gracious to provide for those outside of the Covenant, He definitely has something better for those within the Covenant. It is important that you don't lose sight of the assertion that 'The way we see and receive from God is dependent on the Type of Covenant relationship we have with Him'. In this capsule we would look at the provision of Divine Healing in the Old Covenant. This might ruffle some feathers but please maintain an open mind.

“And he was teaching in one of the synagogues on the sabbath. And, behold, there was a woman which had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and was bowed together, and could in no wise lift up herself. And when Jesus saw her, he called her to him, and said unto her, Woman, thou art loosed from thine infirmity.” Luke 13:10-12 KJV

In Luke 13:10-16, we see the story of the healing of a woman on a Sabbath day, and in a Synagogue. To start with, nobody was supposed to work on the sabbath and to compound matters this was done in the Jewish place of worship before all to see. Unlike the Syrophonecian woman, this lady did not solicit or grovel for the healing openly, though she might have desired it. She did not have to provide a strong argument, neither did she ask anyone to approach Christ on her behalf like the centurion did (Luke 7:2-4). Christ was the one who invited her (Luke13:12). These are significant differences, Christ went out of His way to go against the letter of the Law.

And ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan hath bound, lo, these eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the sabbath day?”
Luke 13:16 KJV

The difference between the two instances is that the Syrophonecian woman had no covenant with God, whilst the lady in Synagogue was described as daughter of Abraham, meaning she was a Jew, by implication she had a Covenant with God. Healing was one of the Old Covenant promises. In fact Christ referred to it as food for the children (Matthew 15:26-27). The Syrophonecian woman tapped into the covenant through Christ, whereas Christ showed the woman in the synagogue had access to the covenant by birth, huge difference! For everyone under the Old Covenant, they could have it if they wanted. It came with the package, though they were Servants. The only instance that Christ could not provide healing, miracles etc for those under the Old Covenant was when it was rejected through unbelief ( Matthew 13:58, Mark 6:5-6). This was a wonderful provision, far better than what the Outcasts or Aliens have. However, this was not God's best. As I have said before it was a shadow, a temporary arrangement, a glimpse of what was to come. This Covenant has expired, it is no longer in existence and there lies the danger. To pursue healing or any form of relationship with God in this manner is like chasing shadows, something that no longer exists (Hebrews chapters 7-10). This Covenant had an inbuilt weakness and was not perfect (Hebrews 7:18-19). It had within it the threat of curses which required the sacrifice of a Saviour (Galatians 3:13). It was a sign post not the destination, God had something far better in mind (Hebrews 11:39-40) .

“For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.”James 2:10 KJV

The inherent weakness in the Old Covenant, is that it was based on performance, with negative consequence when actions fall short. They were not given to make those that existed under it perfect (Hebrews 10:1-5). Of the 68 verses in Deuteronomy chapter 28, twelve verses contained blessings, verse 16-68 are curses! you do the maths. For every blessing there are four curses. To make things more interesting, violation of one law equals to violation of all (James 2:10). The Old Covenant was a constant reminder that they needed a saviour to take away the curse permanently! It was based on fear, but God showed mercy. This was the provision made for servants, which was far better than what the Outcast or Aliens have, but definitely not God's best. There is no reason why any New Creation should settle for this discontinued brand, in fact to do so would be an insult to the sacrifice of Christ and Blood of Atonement. As we end this capsule, the whole thrust of our discussion is to show you the marked difference in provision for the different dispensations . These are not just theoretical or academic distinctions, they are deeply spiritual, very relevant and practical if you are to excel in your walk with God. The intention is to ultimately focus hearts to the perfect provision we have in the New Covenant. The more I meditate on these truths, I am persuaded that we are not Homo Sapiens but New Creations, a completely different species that never existed before!

I pray this is impacting you the way it is has and is impacting me. From the next capsule we would start looking at what we have, it will change the direction of your life forever.

“But he answered and said, It is not meet to take the children's bread, and to cast it to dogs. And she said, Truth, Lord: yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters' table.” Matthew 15:26-27 KJV

In the last capsule I started with the assertion that 'the way we see and receive from God is based on our relationship with Him'. This could be those without Covenant (Outcast or Alien), or those that operated under the Old Covenant (Servants) and Lastly, the New Covenant (Children or Sons). This categorisation affects every aspect of our dealings with and provisions from God. Let me give you an example. In the Old Testament, nobody is allowed to come before the Mercy seat in the Holy of Holies except the High Priest. Even the High Priest comes only once a year on the day of atonement, under strict protocol and he did this with fear and trepidation (Hebrews 9:1-7). In the New Covenant, we are invited (everyone of us, as long as you belong to Christ) to come boldly to the Throne of Grace. This invitation comes with a guarantee that we would receive mercy and grace to help in time of need (Hebrews 4:16). Can you see how relationship has affected the dynamics. The group without covenant have no direct access at all, the Old Covenant gave very limited and restricted access, those in the New Covenant have free access for All. Understanding this, helps in our Christian walk and makes us more productive.

In this capsule, we would consider the spiritual basis for Divine healing in the group outside of the covenant, the Alien or Outcast, the group without Covenant with God, the group commonly called non-believers.

“Then Jesus went thence, and departed into the coasts of Tyre and Sidon. And, behold, a woman of Canaan came out of the same coasts, and cried unto him, saying, Have mercy on me, O Lord, thou Son of David; my daughter is grievously vexed with a devil. But he answered her not a word. And his disciples came and besought him, saying, Send her away; for she crieth after us. But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.” Matthew 15:21-24 KJV

In Matthew 15:21-28 (also Mark 7:23-29) we see the story of a woman who came to Christ requesting healing for her daughter. This woman is described as Greek, Syrophonecian or Canaanite. The emphasis here is that she was a non Jew, someone outside the then existing Covenant. In case you are in doubt, the initial reaction and response of Christ confirmed this. In the most explicit way, Christ explained to her that He had not been sent to those outside the covenant. The truth is, Divine Healing is a covenant promise meant for those under the covenant (remember the four cardinal characteristics of the Outcast described in capsule 2). In fact to do what she asked was tantamount to giving the food meant for the children to dogs, nobody does that, it makes no sense, especially when the children have not had their fill. In no uncertain terms, Christ was making it clear that attending to her needs would be wasteful and unwise. You see dogs and swines are the derogatory terms for gentiles, non Jews (Matthew 7:6).
This lady fully understood what Christ was alluding to, her reaction and her response reflected this. However she had an insight into the workings of the covenant and had come prepared, in fact her response was not an emotional over drive as some would have you believe (Please follow this carefully). The first thing she did was to address Christ by His Covenant name or title 'SON OF DAVID'. This was not a coincidence, it was the only way she could access any of the covenant provision, she was an outcast, a dog. There was no way she could lay claim on anything on a personal basis and she knew that. What she wanted was for Christ to break protocol for her. In fact she agreed with Christ that she was a little dog. What she was asking for was the left overs, remnants which would not deprive the true owners. This was an audacious display of faith based on knowledge, and Christ acknowledged it (Matthew 15:28). More importantly it shows the privilege we have, the ability to extend God's goodness to those outside the covenant. Remember that everything in the Old Covenant is either a shadow, type or pattern. This provision is seen in its truest form in the New Covenant, the privilege to extend God's goodness to those who don't have a relationship with God, the Outcasts.

“And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.” Mark 16:17-18 KJV

As we close, let me say this, healing is a wonderful evangelistic tool! The only way an Outcast can enjoy a covenant blessing is if we extend it, and we are actively encouraged to do so in the New Covenant. In the Old Covenant, we saw a glimpse of this provision (Luke 7:2-4, Matthew 15:21-28), but now in the New Covenant we see clearly (Mark 16:17-18). That is why we preach and teach the gospel, and extend the benefits (healing included) to those OUTSIDE to bring them INSIDE THE NEW COVENANT. This is a wonderful provision and privilege but as wonderful as this is, it is essentially for those outside of the covenant, we are the POSSESSORS, we have access to Divine HEALTH and HEALING, what we have is much better than that (Hebrews 11:39-40).

I sincerely hope you are following this discussion, the purpose and intention of this approach is to get you thinking beyond the ordinary. To let you see that there is much more. Please feel free to send feedbacks, or ask for clarification, don't just go with the flow (,

Starting from this capsule we would have a systematic discussion on Divine Healing. On this occasion I would be taking an approach that I have not come across anywhere else, with the hope that this will create a freshness and fire up your imagination. However before we go into the meat of the matter, again I would implore you to refresh yourself on the first capsule for this year. We touched on two things needed to unlock the divine. The first is that you need to spend time to verify and validate the TRUTH, in other words be like the Berean Christians (Acts 17:11). Let the scriptures become revealed to you, then make it yours. The second, act on the truth you know NOW! Act on the little things first, when the big things come along, you will be able to make a 'withdrawal where you've made deposits'.  This is so simple and obvious, NO DEPOSIT, NO WITHDRAWAL.

“Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.” 3 John 1:2 KJV

Every right thinking person has a genuine desire to be healthy. Nobody (not even hypochondriacs) when you drill it down, wants to be sick. That is why we build hospitals, spend huge amounts on pharmaceuticals, even go through painful procedures and other great lengths. 3 John 1:2, also makes it abundantly clear that God supports this desire without any reservations and has made provision for this in the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ (1Peter 2:24). With these in mind, why do we have so much sickness and disease even in the church? I do not claim to have a definitive answer to this question but unlike most I am not ready to settle for less or come up with some sophistries. To be clear I am not against Western Medicine, no not at all. However Western Medicine comes a distant second to what we have in the Word. Innately we know this, that is why we always turn to God when we have exhausted all that Western Medicine has to offer and our backs hit the wall (Mark 5:25-29). There are so many reasons why we are not getting the desired results, but one of the foundational reasons that I have found is what I call 'MUDDLED THINKING'. Throughout the bible we see the dealings of God with man in three categories or dispensations . The way we see and receive from God is based on these three categories, and more so healing. Once you understand this, it would create a paradigm shift in the way you see God. Honestly. I cannot overemphasise the importance of this and my prayer is that you will gain understanding and move forward

No Covenant
Ephesians 2:1-3, gives a graphic description of those without covenant with God. This group have four cardinal standout characteristics. They are spiritually dead, controlled by Satan, children of disobedience and recipients or candidates for God's wrath. In case you are in doubt these are people without Christ, they are Aliens or Outcasts from God's covenants (Ephesians 2:12). This sounds harsh, but I challenge you to search the scriptures and see. But God in His unsearchable mercy and tenderness has made a provision for this group including divine healing and we would consider it in details later.

Old Covenant
Galatians 3:22-26 and Hebrews Chapter 8, gives a vivid description of the Old Covenant as a TEMPORARY arrangement until the New Covenant was consummated. This Covenant was filled with Types, Shadow and Patterns. In other words every provision under this Covenant was either a type, shadow or pattern of the Real Deal to come, that is the New Covenant! (Colossians 2:17, Hebrews 8:5, 10:1). The people under this covenant had a better relationship with God than those without covenant , in that they were not aliens or outcasts, they had something, but at best they were Servants (Isaiah 41:8-9). Though they had a form of relationship with God which qualified them above the first group, yet they were all spiritually dead like the people without covenant (Romans 5:12-14). This Covenant also had a provision for Divine Health but it was not the best God had in mind. It was just a provision for SERVANTS and a shadow of God's best. It is crucially important that you keep in view the statement I made earlier that, 'the way we see God and in turn receive from God is dependent on the relationship we have with Him'. The first groups are ALIENS or OUTCASTS. The second group were SERVANTS, who had a temporary, inferior arrangement based on Dos and Don'ts (that is the Law).Hebrews 7:19

New Covenant
2 Corinthians 5:17-20, describes God's best. A different species of people, created after the image of the last Adam, SONS of God . As I study the scriptures, it has become so obvious to me that it is patently wrong to describe us as Homo sapiens. The bible describes us as NEW CREATURES, in the original Greek, this refers to a species that has never existed before! We are Son of the Father. Like Christ we are born from above (John 3:3-6). This truth has been so trivialised, that it is almost meaningless in the modern church. We have become so distracted by temporal things,(Myself included). In Matthew 11:11, Christ said the best of the Old Testament:John the Baptist, is inferior to the least in the New Covenant. This means a newly Born Again Christian has a far greater, and more meaningful relationship with God because he or she is a 'son', John was a servant. Can you then imagine the provision in this NEW COVENANT? Everything you see in the Old Covenant is either a type, shadow or pattern of what we have in the New Covenant including Healing. The truth is the Old Covenant is actually a discontinued brand, expired, gone forever (Hebrews 8:13).

When we understand this, then surely the provision and dynamics of interaction with God must be different. Surely God could not have gone to this extent and then mix everything together like we do in the modern church. In the next capsule we will start showing the difference. For those with the Berean disposition, the question you will ask yourself is 'Why you never saw this before?'

In the next capsule we would look at divine healing for those without covenant, the lost man, aliens and outcasts!

As always remember to link this with you social media sites, stay blessed!

“For to him that is joined to all the living there is hope: for a living dog is better than a dead lion.” Ecclesiastes 9:4 KJV

Happy New Year! If you recall, in the first capsule of 2016, I said that at the end of the year, we would have spiritually made so much progress if we remain steadfast, unmovable and abound in the work of God (1 Corinthians 15:58).
It was not a prophecy, it came with certainty of the Gospel (Good news). But wait, there is much more this year, much more! We would do greater things together this year so don't be distracted by the temporal things. Before we start the first series this year we need a DETOX capsule to cleanse our system, something to do a power flush, so that the system works efficiently and effectively.

Two things usually characterise this season (the end and beginning of the year) in any Christian group both small and large . The first is the Prophetic Word with respect to the New Year. This generally speaks positive messages of hope, backed by appropriate scriptures. Although they might come in different flavours, they all without exception are meant to edify and encourage. I sincerely believe that these reflect the heart of God, and they are true. God is LOVE, we are His children, so that is what we should expect, for me that is a 'no brainer' (James 1:17, Jeremiah 29:11, 3 John 1:2). The second thing, is a genuine desire to get close to God and know Him better. Hence, most of us start different bible reading plans, subscribe to bible devotionals, invest in Christian books, take up membership of different prayer/bible study groups and many other laudable endeavours. This also should and must be encouraged. However what is most important is for you at the end of each year to be able to take stock and assess progress made. This year for each and everyone of my partner I expect an explosion in your spiritual knowledge and capacity. This is not a prophecy, it is based on the certainty of the Gospel (Good news of the completed work of Christ). I have two keys to share that will help unlock the reward for your efforts in this capsule.

Don't be an Echo:

“These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.” Acts‬ ‭17:11‬ ‭KJV‬‬

The first thing is that 'you must know what you think you know'. In Acts 17:11-12, the scriptures described a unique set of people called the Berean Christians. Of all the groups Paul taught, what set them apart was that they received the teachings of Paul with an open mind. But more importantly they spent time to verify that the teachings were true. They were not concerned about the charisma, eloquence or oratory of Paul. Their sole interest was to find out whether it was the TRUTH. Verse 12, says they BELIEVED after they have verified these teachings as true. Notice that THEY were the ones who took the time and effort to 'search the scriptures daily'. This is huge! It always amazes me when I hear Christians say or do things that has no basis in scripture. What is more amazing is when you ask them why, and they cannot explain. They are like echoes, stuck in repeat mode. When you do what the Bereans did, few things happen. The first is that you are able to remove the wheat from the chaff and confirm the true heart of God (1 Thessalonians 5:21). That is why I implore, challenge and encourage MinDGyM partners to spend time and check the bible references we provide, there is no short cut (No man is infallible).
The second reason is that, you cannot live on another man's revelation, you need to meditate on it until it becomes your own! I have benefited immensely from different people and will continue to do so, but before I repeat something, it would have become a revealed knowledge to me.
Thirdly, Faith only flows when there is revealed knowledge or you can only exercise faith for what you KNOW (that is, what you have an intimate knowledge of), not what you know about . There is more to say but these will suffice for now.

What you do with what you KNOW:

“But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass:” James‬ ‭1:22-23‬ ‭KJV

I concluded the last capsule for 2016, by saying 'You don't have to know everything, all you need is the knowledge of the TRUTH '. Allow me to go a step further by saying 'what you know matter, but what you do with what you know matters more'. In fact you are not sure of what you think you know until you can put it into practice and get the desired result, that is the litmus test. James 1:22 says if you fail to do what you know, the only person you are deceiving or cheating is yourself. But nobody really sets out to deceive his or herself, it happens by default .

The first and possibly the main reason this happens, is the fear of failure. How then do you know it works if you don't put it to practice? I see people quote the healing scriptures, but quick to take medication at the slightest headache or sniffle, then one day try to exercise their faith for diabetes or cancer and wonder why they are not getting results. Put what you have found to be true to use even in the small things, the results you get will qualify you for more. Let me be clear, it does not matter with God whether it is cough or cancer, the same sacrifice paid for all. The difference maker is your lack of spiritual capacity, if you have not exercised yourself in the little things (Jeremiah 12:5, 1 Samuel 17:34-37). Moreover, what is the purpose of God showing the big things when you have not put the small things to practice? The second reason, is what I call 'lack of joined up thinking'. With most, it's as if they cannot make the necessary connections in the word of God, they cannot see the practical application, there is an invisible compartmentalisation in their thinking, everything is muddled and not in the right order (I will explain this further when we start the series for the next capsule).

This year be determined not to take anything at face value, don't just accept it as the TRUTH until you have found it to be so. Don't get caught up in the hype, the noise and fashion, find out first. When you have done this, begin to apply it even in the very little things, don't wait for the perfect opportunity. Lastly, don't be perturbed when it 'appears' not to work, you can always ask the Holy Spirit why ?(John 14:26, John 16:12-15, Matthew 17:19).

We would start a series on healing in the next capsule, it is so simple, you will ask yourself why you never thought of things that way. That is the purpose of God's Pill 'small enough to swallow, easily digestible to release all its goodness.

As always link this to your social media sites and encourage your friends to do the same, let's fill this Jerusalem with the doctrines of Christ.
