“He made known his ways unto Moses, his acts unto the children of Israel.”
Psalms 103:7 KJV

We are discussing one of the basic fundamentals of sound Christian living: Blessings and Miracle, The difference and Application. This is one of the things the Lord showed me early in my walk with Him and has completely changed my thinking for the better. Once you understand this basic truth, it will affect virtually every aspect of your life. For example in the last capsule we saw that Crisis is the precursor for a Miracle, whilst Blessings would prevent Crisis. If you apply this to Health for instance, 'Would you rather be sick, then receive healing or Walk in Divine Health and not be sick?' It's that simple. I could apply this to prayer, material prosperity and much more, I am sure you get the gist.

As you walk in and work the blessings, you become mature and stable with roots that go deep. Whereas those who live on Miracles, move from one crusade to another, one prayer ground to the other, moving from crisis to crisis looking for the dramatic. They remain immature, self focused and end up frustrated. They make themselves prey to charlatans and impostors.

“And the manna ceased on the morrow after they had eaten of the old corn of the land; neither had the children of Israel manna any more; but they did eat of the fruit of the land of Canaan that year.” Joshua 5:12KJV

Miracles are always TEMPORARY, but Blessings are PERMANENT! This should be obvious, especially if you consider the definitions of miracles and blessings (Capsule 25, 2017). God will not suspend the natural/physical laws permanently. Every miracle has an expiry date. The longest lasting miracle in history was the provision of manna. Even this was temporary. Firstly, it was a daily provision except for the day before sabbath when it lasted 48 hours. Any attempt to keep manna, beyond this stipulated time, bred worms (Exodus 16). Secondly, as soon as the children of Israel got to the Promised Land, manna ceased completely. Why? Because God expected them to plant and harvest (Joshua 5:12). A Miracle will only come to neutralise a specific crisis and no more. This is the nature of miracles from bible times to this present day.

“And Isaac trembled very exceedingly, and said, Who? where is he that hath taken venison, and brought it me, and I have eaten of all before thou camest, and have blessed him? yea, and he shall be blessed.” Genesis 27:33 KJV

Blessings by design are permanent. In Genesis 27 we see the story of how Isaac blessed Jacob thinking he was Esau. The reaction of Isaac when he found out his mistake is instructive. Genesis 27:33, he trembled exceedingly, this showed the significance of his mistake. But look at his conclusion 'have blessed him? yea, and he shall be blessed'. In other words once a blessing has been released, it cannot be taken back, it is in perpetuity or permanent. The workings of a blessing lead to continuous production, unending. In Genesis 12:1-3, Abram started with nothing except the blessing (the spoken favour of God), in Genesis 13:1-2, he was rich in cattle, silver and gold, in Genesis 24:1 he had everything. But do you know that the blessing of Abraham is still in operation up to this present day? (Genesis 12:3, 15:5, Galatians 3:29). Similarly with Isaac in Genesis 26:13-14.

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:” Ephesians 1:3 KJV

The New Creation has something far better than the examples I have given so far. Ephesians 1:3 says we are already blessed with ALL spiritual blessings secured in Christ. We have a better covenant based on better promises. God's spoken favour that makes the natural laws yield exponentially is already available to us. The question then is why are we not seeing the manifestation? Good question, that is the purpose of our discussion, to show you what is God's preferred and original pattern. In the next capsule we would look at a few more of the differences between Miracles and Blessings, then go into the applications and how to set things in motion.

My sincere prayer is that you will gain understanding. We need to spread the word, knowledge is the antidote for mediocrity. Thank you for partnering with MinDGyM.
